    Everyone knows the legendary fight between Lawler and Rory MacDonald, but I wish fans today got to see how insanely talented Rory actually was. The dude beat BJ Penn, Demian Maia, absolutely ragdolled Nate Diaz and even beat a prime and dangerous Tyron Woodley. That second fight with Lawler just took that spirit away.

      @johnriley4425 Рік тому

      Tbh? I don't think that fight was that good. First 2 rounds were feelers. Basically nothing happened. 3rd and 4th? Fire, then of course the 5th only lasted like a minute before the finish. So quite literally out of 5 rounds only 2 of them were good. There are SO many fights that had all 5 rounds be amazing, so i never understand why the fight with only 2 noteable rounds has so much regard. Like quite literally the "good" parts of the fight are less than half of the actual match.

    • @johnriley4425
      @johnriley4425 Рік тому

      @@jesselindquist1794 idk. Those first 2 rounds are why i don't put it top 10. Hard to call it one of the greatest fights ever when half the fight is them just feeling eachother out. I can think of plenty fights with no feeling out that are entertaining starting to finish, yet people get all nostalgic over the fight that literally only has 2 good rounds. And the 3rd round didn't even pick up until the end 😂

    • @madgavin7568
      @madgavin7568 Рік тому +1

      I've always respected DJ but I never really came round to him being in the GOAT conversation until I found out just how skilled and talented all the male Flyweight fighters are. DJ had arguably the most challenging title reign of any UFC fighter as EVERYONE he fought was good to elite and he beat them all, often dominantly. Even the guy that did beat him (Henry) only did so off a contentious split decision and DJ finished him two years prior. The fact he's extended his career into ONE FC up a weight division only adds to his greatness.
      Take into account his lengthy title reign and the fact he never tested positive for PEDs unlike Druggy Bones, he's top 3 all time.

    • @p_ttown1979
      @p_ttown1979 Рік тому

      @@madgavin7568 100% agreed. we didn’t really get to see how competitive the division was until dj left… back then it was a boring division because dj was just that damn good. so well rounded plus a lot of great attributes. and with that “ducked tj dillashaw” narrative that was made by the ufc cuz they wanted that fight but dj didn’t feel like he was being full compensated. he didn’t make 200k for a fight until his 6th or 7th defense which is insane. besides, him going to one fc in his mid to late thirties and beating bigger guys definitely proved that narrative wrong.

  • @rtbgains6563

    IMO the King of the streets, Marco Ruas, should be on this list. Went to the sport at the age where a singular style was what people used to get by, and the man had both striking and grappling in his arsenal. Won a ufc tournament. Man RIP Kid Yamamoto my childhood friend would always play as him when we’d play UFC undisputed 3 and I’d always pick uriah Faber, Yamamoto was always a cheat code in that game some of the fastest punches and craziest kicks. Really heartbreaking cancer took him from us before he could shine for the new generation of UFC fighters

    Ty for including Igor Vovchanchyn.
    He's a goat no doubt

    The fact that glover Teixeira isn't on this list proves that he's one of the most unappreciated fighters to walk into the cage

    You forgot to mention DJ was a construction worker full time until late in his UFC carreer.
    I will never forget the flying armbar. It felt like wacthing a UFC, something incredibly out of this world. He is just amazing.

    My favorite underrated fighter is Sean “The Muscleshark” Sherk. Of his 34 pro fights his only losses were to 4 of the best including Matt Hughes, GSP, BJ Penn, and Frankie Edgar.

    I think Junior Dos Santos is pretty underrated. People remember him more because of the beatings he take from Cain Velasquez, Stipe and Ngannou than his 9 fight win streak

      Jds's ufc wins are, in order, Werdum (ATG, champion) , Struve (Perennial Contender), Cro Cop (ATG) , Yvel (Pioneer), Gonzaga(Title Contender) , Nelson (Perennial Contender), Carwin (Interim Champ), Velasquez (ATG Champion), Mir (Great Champion), Hunt (Title Contender), Miocic (UFC goat), Rothwell (Perennial Contender), Ivanov (Beat FEDOR in sambo), Tuivasa (Current contender) and derrick lewis (Title Contender). There's some context to those wins, but on paper it's by far the best resume in Heavyweight history
