Just found your channel. Your knowledge and the detail you cover is really exceptional. I'm sorry you and your family have had such a rough year. I hope you keep ploughing on(pun intended) with these videos mate because they're awesome. All the best.
Well done Jonny, Someone thinks very highly of you. Not too many people you can let off with such valuable equipment. You can be very proud.👍👍God bless you and the family..
Great video Jonny, along time in the making but definitely worth it. Your always so positive and informative so keep it up. You can’t beat a Fendt - pure power. Cheers Jonny
Thanks Charlie, lovely comment to read my mate!! :) I’d like to see what tractor will eventually knock the 1050 off the top spot..that will be seriously impressive lol
Listening to that 1050 pulling that monster and its like not breaking a sweat dos not sound as if its struggling at all very impressive HP and traction. great to see you back on form pal your an inspiration to a lot of people.
Hiya mark! Always look forward to reading your comment :) It was only running at 1200rpm, literally pulls that plough on tickover with 0% wheelslip on our light land. It’s a different story on the strong land but it still never really breaks a sweat. Thanks my mate :) :) :) if I can inspire anybody to get into agriculture, even just one person, then il feel like I’ve helped the industry just a little bit :)
At last the ploughing video was great liked the walk round the plough explaining things as i am a non farmer found it very interesting but what a piece kit to use, good work Jonny
Hi Jonny, I was playing Farming Simulator 19 yesterday and had basically the same setup as you've got there with the Fendt 1050 and a big plow. Noticed that I could change the boards and I was wondering what the difference between solid and slatted boards was, now I know thanks to another fantastic in-depth video, very much appreciate all the effort you and Chris put in. Hopefully there's some videos planned in the future with you two again, I enjoyed the previous ones that's for sure. As always mate, looking forward to the next vid. Take care and have a great weekend! :)
Hiya Phillip!! :) Looks like I answered your question before you got chance to ask it then! Lol It’s a fairly common misconception that slatted boards are used to break the soil up more, you do get a slightly better shatter effect, but not a massive amount. It’s mainly just to stop soil sticking to them. Though solid boards are better for burying trash as they tend to fold the land over, where the slatted ones throw it. There will be loads more from me and Chris, we’ve become really good friends and he can always make me look good even if I’m making a terrible mess 😂😂 Thanks my mate
@@Jonny1388 Thanks for the extra bit of information mate, I'm ever so fascinated by all farming machinery. And that's good news to hear, looking forward to it, the great farming duo 😁

Is that the same with yours or do they stay consistent? Thanks :)

You get all the toys Jonny! I was on the half size outfit yesterday (Fendt 724 and KV LD85 6 furrow) just out of interest how many hectares an hour were you managing and diesel on a decent sized field?
Haha thanks George! I either get all the toys....or I’m just compensating for something...if you catch my drift 😂😂 724 and 6 furrows is a match made in heaven I bet! 6 furrows is still a blooming big piece of metal to have swinging behind you. To be honest, the spot rates have been all over the place, the Weather has been so kind I’ve done all the ploughing, all the top work, and all the drilling, so I’ve been hoping in and out of both tractors in a single day. On an average day, with good going you can cover 50+ha, so that’s about 120acres and still be home to watch the simpsons lol In a massive field, with good going and a long day you could smash that figure into next week lol We haven’t had it that long so I’m yet to see what it’s really capable of. The 1050 uses about 40/50ltrs an hour pulling it, which is phenomenal fuel consumption, it’s where the 1050 really shines. How on earth it can produce 518hp and use such a small amount of fuel is beyond me lol Thanks for watching George and it was great to quickly say hello again at midlands :)
Hiya Johnny! The 1050 could pull 20 furrows in that light land. We’ve got some strong land as well, so we need to find a happy balance, it will pull 10 furrows no matter what the conditions are like, or how strong the land is :)
Yes I certainly will, it’s a very important part of using these high horsepower tractors, I don’t know when it will be but I will certainly mention it more in a video :)
Absolutely built like a tank KV kit...there is nothing flimsy about them at all is there! We have loads of KV implements at the farm and never had any trouble with them :)

You can basically program the tractor to perform different operations in a sequence, and active it from the touch of a button. Things like “lifting implements” “raising/lowering engine RPM’s” PTO on and off” Basically it stops you having to use multiple knobs and switches, and cuts it down to one button. Yes I think I know what you mean mate! :)
Kverneland produce a plough called the i-plough which is a generation of things called “smart ploughs” you can basically makes adjustments from the cab, and save them onto the ploughs memory, you can have multiple saved settings for each field.

The plough in the video isn’t a smart plough, it’s just a normal large plough that runs through ISOBUS.
I think what your asking about the tractors, is called a “headland management system” it’s been around for a long time now.
You can basically program the tractor to perform different operations in a sequence, and active it from the touch of a button.
Things like “lifting implements” “raising/lowering engine RPM’s”

Basically it stops you having to use multiple knobs and switches, and cuts it down to one button.

Hello! :)
That’s a good question and not one one had before.
Hedges were traditionally used in the UK To mark the boundary’s of fields and act as a cheaper alternative to fencing. Keeping unwanted visitors out of fields, but keeping livestock “in”.
Some of our hedgerows will be over 100years old, when the older hedges die off new ones will emerge from the seeds dropped over the years, it’s a constant cycle of natural renewal.
We still plant new hedgerows, to act as shelter and homes to the native wildlife.
We plant a lot of different varieties, and make sure they produce fruit or seeds that are edible for the local wildlife, so it supply’s them with a food source as well.
The most common variety found in the UK is Hawthorne.
I’ve noticed it’s not something done in the United States, I’m not really sure why.

Brill vid jonney nice set up but you young guns take my hat off to you, I’m in the 70s now retired , and old school we got in the field couple of spanner’s hammer and monkey wrench pull a pin wind a couple of handles all done by eye, but today to get going set up computers adjust 3or 4 operating screens to do your job I wouldn’t know where to start to technical and baffling so even to help out is impossible unless your under 30 and been computer school for a few terms very sad for old school farm hands .
Hao pric
Great video. Mind you you are cheating a bit using a professional (jealousy is a terrible thing). That tractor and plough just wow what a beast
