I spent several weeks in Coronado CA. I saw the young Navy Seals training everyday running full speed for miles. I was surprised that they where not huge muscular men like they are portrayed in movies and TV shows. Most of The Seals that i saw everyday where built more like Olympic swimmers. They where V shaped between 5'10" and 6'2" and 170lb - 185lb. They and had very lean builds. They where incredible athletes.

I dated a body builder who was tall 6'2 and very muscular and strong. He concentrated on sculpting his body shape which was very nice. My dad was in the SAS which is the UK's Special Air Service I think its akin to a Seal in regards to being a special service. My dad was quite short at 5'7 and had a stocky build, he was much stronger and fitter than my boyfriend. Had a much stronger core and a squarer shape. He was also agile and fast.
There is something very different about a man from the special services that is hard to explain. Its a sort of inner strength and deadly calmness. Its like an unbending force. I think mind over matter plays an essential role in this type of man. I always felt safe and secure when my dad was around.
The body-builders are very handsome though.

    • @sharkness01

It's his inner strength which is something you are born with or not. Males & Females...say, giving birth to a child is very painful, very strenious. Raising children's, especially boys is also very demanding.

I mean... body builders just don't train for strength. Like at all. Body builders are very strong just cause muscle mass makes it so, but muscle built for strength is shockingly different than muscle built for pure mass.
Navy SEALs don't necesarily train for strength either, they train to kill, but that requires being as strong as possible.
A more apt comparison would be a power lifter to a Navy SEAL, but yeah obviously SEALs have the mental toughness/calmness that their training gives them.

on top of that those are some retired seals .
so this was 25-30 years old guys in their physical prime VS 40-50 years old guys past their physical prime and already retired from duty
and they still win - imagine 25-30 years old active navy seals in this competition , they would crush these guys ...

So can we address form for a second? during the first challenge? Body builders legs are past shoulder width and the NAVY SEAL is shoulder width? 3:06

Yeah, they should've both either done conventional or sumo, not one do one and the other another.

Came here to say this! Not only is the navy seal taller, he’s conventional and the body builder is shorter and limiting his range by doing it sumo. Not an even challenge imo.

*SEALs* are NOT quiet. They get more book/movie deals than former US Presidents. But* that does not mean they are not cool friends to have.

As a Marine Veteran myself, this video rocked! Had to hit the gym immediately after watching this.. You should do a round two video and compete in stuff like airsoft, room clearing, etc.. even just a hand/eye coordination test would be interesting to watch.
