Something about the footsies and combos in SF4 is just more satisfying to spectate (and play) than SFV. I don't know what it is about SFV. Its core mechanic just feels off to me.
Honestly, I feel as though Evil Ryu was teased in the Arcade Ediition trailer. I personally wish Necro and Oro become playable. I mean, Alex went from background character to roster, why not Necro?
[Spawn] my guess Oro and Necro will be in Season 4. I got a feeling Evil Ryu won't be in the game until a long time even though they been teasing him in SFV. Now that we know what we're getting in Season 3. We can take a good guess of who's going to be in season 4. Oro, Necro, C.Viper, Abel, Q, Sodom, more of the dolls, Twelve, Gen, Gouken, Decapre. It could be anyone of these.
When someone jumps in on you while playing Oni and you punish with light Shoryu, follow up with forward heavy kick for more damage, and a sick knock back.
Im really surprised how each fight went and they all felt exciting. Yes Max I mistaken the life bars and super bars too on figuring out where you are at (A lot of Crazy Horseshit happens too.) and I really appreciate how human you are as a player.
Jewish Dude That's not true there's still a good amount of people playing but I notice the best way to find online matches is to go into training mode and let the opponents find you
Max what system are you playing this on? Anybody playing this on Steam? I suck at it honestly but it would be nice to still connect with some peeps to play.
*Can somebody explain **_objectively_** what advantages and disadvantages SF4 has compared to SF5?* Too many people say "SF4 is much better", and while they aren't necessarily wrong, very few of them actually explain why.
BrokenMoonStudios Street Fighter 4 (especially ultra) had more characters at the start and it has more content in general. It also had a bigger, nicer skill ceiling where not everyone does the same exact combos. Some characters like Juri are just too different in Street Fighter 5 compared to 4 so some people have problems with that.
SF4 is complete into USF4, while SFV is still incomplete with SFV: AE being the the 1st true iteration of the nearly complete core game. I'm waiting on Makoto for SFV.
BrokenMoonStudios the combo system is trash . What separated players in sf4 was the 1-2 frame links max damage/punish and knowing matchups . In sfv I play balrog and shit on everyone I play and everyone on the rooster .why? Cause I can do every combo with ease and i don't need matchup knowledge cause he op
That can't be answered. Not objectively anyway. There's no litmus test to empirically compare the two games without bias muddying the result. It all depends on what you're looking for in a fighting game. 5 is more accessible but the 4 series has deeper mechanics. Beyond those two points everything else is aesthetic choice. Well, technically there's also price. 5 is a much younger game only going into its second iteration if you own 5 the AE upgrade is free or 40USD for the stand alone disc. Adding all paid dlc and packages you're looking at 300 dollars in expenses at the upper end. Given 4 is an older series and is a series at all and before the "season" concept was fleshed out owning all of it including every piece of dlc is in my unresearched estimate costs 4 to 500 dollars.
One frame links and focus attacks acting not only as a psuedo parry but as a combo extender means that SF4 has a far more complex and explorable combo system compared to the depthless and rigid system put into place with SFV, where every combo can be learned in seconds and is far too simple with a three frame link minimum. SF4 is objectively more difficult and complex, which leads to a healthier game both for the player and for spectators. There's also things such as ultras, the roster, and so on and so forth. I could give thousands of reasons as to why I personally find SFV to be dull and watered down for new players but I feel like the combo system is about as objective as you can get.
I have to be honest... those hippos in the last match scare me more than Oni does. Those fuckers are more violent than Violent Ken. And Violent Ken is... pretty fuckin' violent, surprisingly.
I’m surprised that Oni isn’t a V-Trigger for Akuma in SFV. The SFV Akuma’s dumb lion hairdo should’ve been saved for that transformation instead of being his default coif.
I never seen fighter like this! But it will be cool and fun to watch, if you try other characters. It was exciting games. I like Oni and other shoto characters.
I really want to get into street fighter the way I'm into tekken but the combat just does not make any sense to me when it comes to how normal attacks work and when someone is minus frames
If I had to choose between playing SF5 and USF4, I would choose USF4 because besides the crappy story mode and new characters in your face, Cody won't be out for a while. I can only pray they get his story right.
Sassy Somers Unbelievable. I second-guessed myself asking for it for a Christmas present. I thought, "I see Ultra SF4, which I hear is the final version." But then I see Super SF4 Arcade Edition, and I heard SF5 Arcade Edition was the final version of SF5. So basically I got the wrong one just because I was too lazy to google search a roster comparison. What's worse, I got Super SF4 Arcade Edition because I found out I had vanilla SF4 which had such a small roster and I could tell from day 1 of playing it. So basically, when I buy Ultra SF4, I'd have bought all 3 versions. Stupid Capcom and their different versions of games! Is it too much to ask for them to make it simple; release the original one, and then later the ultimate edition? There should never be more than 2 versions of a single fighting game title. And this was nothing compared to SF2.
Angel Army2 no 2 characters play the same, at all. For me that's pretty impressive considering how they usually had a group of characters who had very similar move sets
Yay finally max is playing a good sf game again. Gonna be honest I wish sfv would just die and everyone went back to 4. I did and its honestly way more fun. But im an anime player so I have blazblue and dbfz to play when I get bored so.
Every Street Fighter game is good for different reasons, instead of hating on all the others how about we just play the ones we like? There is no "bad" Street Fighter game, they're all well crafted and balanced, it's all down to preference.
Street Fighter 1 is an absolute disaster of a game, not well crafted or balanced XD But otherwise, your point is understood. But I don't think anyone can say SF games are 'balanced'. No fighting game is, honestly. Some far more lopsided than others. I do have to say though that SF5 is the least well crafted, in my opinion (besides SF1). Character models still have loads of bad clipping issues (Cosmetic, sure but it's horridly distracting. Specially in pre-rendered sections like character select. There should be no clipping, ever, in a pre-rendered scene...). There's also minor cosmetic gripes that could be addressed, but why would Capcom bother at this point? Product is out and fixing fuck ups like that is too much effort for their fucking flagship title. Roster balance is quite bad, honestly. Some characters get no love at all to even try to bring them up into the spot light. Some changes to the game were absolutely stupid (Changing how DP's work, for example, was the utmost retarded idea Capcom ever had. They've been the way they are forever now. They were fine then, and we fine now. But changing them simply 'because reasons' is asinine). The initial roster size is a bad design choice, just to milk the micro transactions or pacify people with mind numbingly slow fight money acquisition to 'get them for free'. It's not the WORST game in the series by any stretch but it's lacking in some areas that aren't excusable IMO.
Overall SFV still looks better, to me 4 is damn ugly, and yeah SFV has a few clipping issues but it's not that big of a deal. SFIV had an even worse money system, started out with 17 characters and then you *had* to buy big expansions or else you couldn't play online or as any of the newer characters.SFV's Roster balance is pretty decent, yes some characters are better than others but no character completely fails to get any use out of a core mechanic *cough E. Honda FADC cough* But the way SFV did it's DLC is better than any Street Fighter game, you don't have to buy anything you don't want, as opposed to having to buy the newest version like the olden days, hell, even Arcade Edition is free, that's a step in the right direction.
Esports. The disturbing imagry gets turned down, certain skins get tv banned, and the usual dlc issues. Culminating in a "Ultimate" edition just before the next season of content goes live.
Just bought this cuz it was $7 on steam but holy hell its hard to play on a controller. Is it even possible to get good with controller, or do i need to just get an arcade stick
Something about the footsies and combos in SF4 is just more satisfying to spectate (and play) than SFV. I don't know what it is about SFV. Its core mechanic just feels off to me.
Shippoyasha it's not trash it's just not AS good . Same with mvci
Shippoyasha well for starters ryu players aren't tick throwing to death and actually have good footsies
Ryu can't do footsies in SFV his buttons suck too much.
It USED to be, but then in Season 2 they nerfed it's range, speed, and damage on CC.
Shippoyasha This isn't SFIV, it's Ultra. Stop comparing a final product with a 10year life span with what's basically a beta yet.
Street Fighter holds up so well I think 4 is better than 5 personally but that's just my opinion
progranite xl I think so as well. The gameplay of sf5 seemed so bland compared to 4
What a unique opinion, never heard that one before
Aysei sarcasm noted
Sf5 was a unfinished game
It is
Im a simple dood.
I see notification about SF 4, I click
Me too.
A wild SF4 appeared!
(makes me wonder when this was recorded)
PhantomPacker99 months and months ago. I remember watching the stream
Remember when people hated SF4? Man, how times have changed.
I know people complain about shoto clones but I hope Evil Ryu and Oni return in Street Fighter 5.
Honestly, I feel as though Evil Ryu was teased in the Arcade Ediition trailer.
I personally wish Necro and Oro become playable. I mean, Alex went from background character to roster, why not Necro?
Oni is barely a shoto and you could argue that SF5 Akuma is basically Oni with some Akuma stuff.
Evil Ryu can stay away tho.
Onic the edgehog
[Spawn] my guess Oro and Necro will be in Season 4. I got a feeling Evil Ryu won't be in the game until a long time even though they been teasing him in SFV. Now that we know what we're getting in Season 3. We can take a good guess of who's going to be in season 4.
Oro, Necro, C.Viper, Abel, Q, Sodom, more of the dolls, Twelve, Gen, Gouken, Decapre. It could be anyone of these.
TouDimeWylde I thought gen died
It's good to see you back on SF4! Would love to see more! Maybe 3rd strike too, would be cool!
I’m still playing the 3ds version.
Ceejay 2391 I forgot that existed.
Drinking game: take a shot everytime max does a level 2 focus and follows it up by not comboing into the crossup punch
B. Blobbentein *gets alcohol poisoning*
TheRedhairshanx did I right shots i meant sips you'll die in like 5 minutes with shots
Damm I played this game for years and I still suck at it sad times
the africa stage looks awesome
When someone jumps in on you while playing Oni and you punish with light Shoryu, follow up with forward heavy kick for more damage, and a sick knock back.
I still like watching this game, it's nice. As for SFV I'm waiting for the Arcade edition to get back into it.
All About Smashing Same here considering i never played original SF5 because I didn't have a PS4
ONI IS BACK
Man the in game commentator makes the matches so much better
3rd Strike announcer tho :)
I personally think he's annoying, I prefer more simple announcers, "Round 1, Round 2, Fight!" That's all ya need.
L3ON 3rd Strike announcer is the best!
RIP cross counter tv
You always get me hyped up when you're playing online
I had to double check the date posted.
Ah, SFIV. Like wrapping up in an old blanket. SFV is so funky, its like wrapping up with a desk chair
Man, USF4 is so good.
Yes!! Finally a real fighting ga.... man,, has it really gotten that bad?
Im really surprised how each fight went and they all felt exciting. Yes Max I mistaken the life bars and super bars too on figuring out where you are at (A lot of Crazy Horseshit happens too.) and I really appreciate how human you are as a player.
If Max ever lands an FADC combo or follows up an anti-air LP Shoryu I'll lose my mind.
Finaly street fighter gameplay video
MY FIGHT MONEEEEEEEEEEY!!!! ^_^
Asses to assees!
Finally ONI IS BACK
"I'm thinking of doing DP a little bit too much" - Maximillian Dood
No Good 2017
So people DO still play this. Nice.
djhero35 yep they tend to when sf5 came out as half a game.
Eddie Brock yeah ,but with arcade edition a lot of them will come back to it
Jobi Robey eh, SF5AE *might* bring me into sf5, but the combos won't be as fun as usf4 with fadc missing...
In the graphic novel book Gill took down both Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma at the same time ☄️💥🔥
Bbardark That was normal Akuma. Oni is a what-if.
That's true
I thought this game was dead i wanted to buy it but only if the online community and multiplayer were alive and well
Jewish Dude it's not, the only reason max is finding people is because he tells his twitch viewers that he's going to be playing it.
Tosh I thats a bummer. But ty for telling me
Jewish Dude That's not true there's still a good amount of people playing but I notice the best way to find online matches is to go into training mode and let the opponents find you
TheRandomDude R guess it depends where you live. Up in Canada I don't find any good matches anymore
you'll have an easier time getting on a discord server (such as usf4 revival) and looking for games there.
Wow today is my birthday and he plays my favorite game with my favorite character thanks max you made my day
I don't really like this game but the stages are incredible. Easily some of the best of any fighting game out there.
Oni Is So Good In This Game!!
Max what system are you playing this on? Anybody playing this on Steam? I suck at it honestly but it would be nice to still connect with some peeps to play.
Daniel Boswell The best place to find people to play with is the peeps in Yo videogames discord
He was playing on PC
I recommend joining the Usf4 revival discord. Most people that still play are on there and the NA server especially is packed
Haven't seen this in a while. This should be a lot of fun so let's rock and roll.
*Can somebody explain **_objectively_** what advantages and disadvantages SF4 has compared to SF5?*

I can't wait for the SF4 Sakura part of the legacy. I just love seeing this game.
This game looks like so much fun but I don't want to waste my time learning an old fighting game that few people play anymore. FeelsBadMan
" I shall grind beneath my heel... All that exist ! "
I love watching Guy do work
I have to be honest... those hippos in the last match scare me more than Oni does. Those fuckers are more violent than Violent Ken. And Violent Ken is... pretty fuckin' violent, surprisingly.

So many good memories tied to SF4 hanging out with mah niggas playing hella long and just talking. :') and then SF5 came out :(
Rajivrocks Ltd. Nothing beats them 09 memories I remember not knowing how to do headbutt into ultra with Balrog xd I played every installment of SF4
xD I started of from Super I think or AE, I played the original on PS3 tho when i jailbroke my PS3, Oh the good times :')
Damn, i remember SF4, so simple and good back then. Sure, no Storymode, but good Fighting games don‘t have Stories, they have Arcade modes.
I suck at fighting games but i always loved me some Oni
Back to the prime era of fighting games.
Come May next year, Max will go back to glorious Third Strike. Mark my words.
Son Goku Whenever the Anniversary Collection with almost every game drops.
3rd Strike online on Steam is going to be very interesting.
Solid combos
SF5 is better cause no Blanka..... oh wait..
Okay bro, we gotta talk about the red focus cancels. I nearly popped a blood vessle after the 2nd one.
Damn! Akuma the super sayian.
This video makes me both happy and sad.
Oh yeah!
I came here after watching boss rage ft. Oni
Wassup Max? Good matches bro! :)
and here i am screaming " use the fucking ultra combo its always full and you never got to use it!!!"
Quality vid Max good stuff bro.
Dilbert is my favorite SF4 character
This game makes me excited for
MK XI😎😎
Oh no, I’m getting boss rage flashbacks 😧
first stage, where hugo showed who is the actual boss of SF
I never seen fighter like this! But it will be cool and fun to watch, if you try other characters. It was exciting games. I like Oni and other shoto characters.
The stage with the hippos still looks amazing, rest of the stages don't really hold up so much
I like both 4 & 5.
Oni is Legendary Super Saiyan Version of Akuma ( Gouki )
Guy, the Nike ninja.
I really want to get into street fighter the way I'm into tekken but the combat just does not make any sense to me when it comes to how normal attacks work and when someone is minus frames
Cool Max!
Will you play mvc2 again
If I had to choose between playing SF5 and USF4, I would choose USF4 because besides the crappy story mode and new characters in your face, Cody won't be out for a while. I can only pray they get his story right.
that Gen
goddamn
Question. I got Super SF4 Arcade Editon. How many characters less is there than in Ultra, and who are they?
Poison, Hugo, Rolento, Elena, Decapre.
Sassy Somers Unbelievable. I second-guessed myself asking for it for a Christmas present. I thought, "I see Ultra SF4, which I hear is the final version." great
Say what you want about this game. It's still just nice to look at now and then.
4 is better than 5 you think Maximilian
A Demon named Maximilian
An Old man named Puppy Poop
XD
I played this at the arcade before.
Why can't we go back to this?
I still prefer the sound effects in 4 more than 5.
I honestly prefer SF5 and the v trigger system. Also each character feels so different to each other
garos I wonder why people say every character plays the same in sfv, that's a lie
Zoggere too bad ,it won't die any time soon!

forgot how fun gen was after i saw this i remenber
Akuma becomes an Oni
I shall grind beaneath my heel all that exists
So I have to lurk infinite until I found you online? Sounds good.
I wish Max would play a non-shoto character every once in a while!!!!! 😧
that Gen, dood...
What happens if darkstalkers Returns
I can die happy, as long as Capcom doesnt screw it up upon release
Better have Guts as a guest character.
CrossBearings its jot sc
CrossBearings not*
Esports. The disturbing imagry gets turned down, certain skins get tv banned, and the usual dlc issues. Culminating in a "Ultimate" edition just before the next season of content goes live.
Teach me Max
Did he recently play it on stream or are these old?
I miss playing with Gen.
It usually takes a act of God for me to find a match on PS4.
Waiting for "SFIV is better than SFV" comments
Was not disappointed lol
I'm so noob in this game
lmao he beat that balrog with sf5 tactics
True Devil Kazuya ( Namco : TEKKEN 7 ) VERSUS Oni Akuma ( Oni )
Who will win ?
Just bought this cuz it was $7 on steam but holy hell its hard to play on a controller. Is it even possible to get good with controller, or do i need to just get an arcade stick
never saw,a top tier gen til now lol
wow i love mugen good build.
