Hi, my name is Merrill Kazanjian. New York City is an amazing place to go metal detecting. We have lots of parks, colonial history and great beaches for beach detecting. I have gone to all five boroughs of New York City To Metal Detect and beyond. I also currently own 22 metal detectors. I want to have the best and I want to help you choose the best as well. I am a treasure hunter. So in addition to metal detecting, I go mudlarking at sites in New York City. Think of mudlarking as metal detecting without a metal detector.

The hidden beach on Staten Island would be the Conference House dating back to the Revolutionary War. It has a grassy knoll that leads down to a beach. Many artifacts can be found there including arrow heads. A famous Conference took place on September 11, 1776.” George Washington was in attendance. From their website "The Conference House Association acknowledges that the land of this historic house was first inhabited by indigenous peoples." Good hunting. Nice bike!!
Bought a Rad Power bike 3 years ago for detecting adventures, been a game changer not only for detecting but for life. Love mine. Gets me across 30 acres of stubble in no time flat when detecting huge fields and gets me into town for dinner when I need a break from the dogs. Life hack + 100
Life hack indeed my friend!
I’ve been using e-bikes for over 12 years on the beaches , always hose down with fresh water especially on the chains and gears , under the mud guards etc use plenty of lubricants on any part that moves or rotates , look after your bike and it will last , sand and salt is very unforgiving, I love and look forward to your adventures on the wilder untouched beaches where real treasure lies waiting 😊
Great advice! Thank you!
I have had a ZUGO RHINO for a couple of years now. I use it when I am in the country, mainly in fields of old farms to assist me in finding the main sites by searching fields for pottery shards, glass, bricks, foundations etc. It will do 28 mph, and I am a big man weighing 275 lbs. LOVE my ebike.
I love biking! I have a tour bike with big bags on it and when I go detecting I just fit it all in one bag and I can go anywhere
Nice!
WoW great find at the end!!
Thank you. No skill to that one. I Forrest Gumped my way there and swung over it.
Glad the bike worked out👍 and congratulations on the silver🙂
Thank you!
Any coin high that a quarter is a treasure in itself! I couldn't read your closing Budda quote. We are not permitted to ride ebikes on the beach. They are considered motorized vehicles
The quote was “it is better to travel well than to arrive”.
I’m impressed that you were able to ride the bike on the sand.
Yes the wet sand is no problem. I just got a tip to deflate the tires in soft sand.
Nice hunt thanks!!!!!
Zip tie vertically an 18" PVC pipe with cap on the back side of the bike behind you. You can keep your scoop in that while riding down the beach.
Nice!!!
Welcome to the club Merrill. E-bikes have been very popular for detecting on the beaches since the hurricanes and storms of a couple of years ago. It give us the ability to scout and detector where “no detector has gone before” lol. Well, at least it can get us to the out of the way places. 😉
Thanks Gary!
Thanks, and I enjoyed this one. Great bike, and nice score on the W. LIBERTY HALF. 👍
Thank you Jim!
Please stop highlighting how deep the Deus2 goes. I really don't need a third detector, but if you don't stop, I'll have to order one!😎
The Deus 2 add on XTrem Hunter goes down 16 FT (for larger sized targets). shrsl.com/4nfrr
Once you get a D2, you’ll wonder how you did without it. I own 2 and won’t part with them.
@@markfloyd6816 👍
The D2 is a hard hitting detector, and the Xtrem Hunter coil pack is true beast mode. Much better than the old 2 box detectors for depth and signal data. We can't keep them in stock.
Metal detectors aren’t like sex, deeper isn’t always better.
Nice work Merrill!! I found a walking liberty my first time detecting at the beach, I was shocked to say the least
That is awesome!
Congrats on the beach Walker! My only Morgan was a beach find 🎉
Thank you Joshua!
Big silva!! Congrats.
Thank you!!!
Well done dude on the silver coin, I’ve yet to go detecting on my e-bike lol. Love your videos, please keep em coming 👍
Thanks 👍
Sweet Skilvah Half.
Thank you sir!
Very nice bike I have the same bike and so does my wife she loves it as well
Nice! Easy pack Deus 2 and Ebike! Incredible combo!
Beautiful Half dollar! NICE WORK ❤
Thank you! 😊
Great videos really enjoy them ! One suggestion could you use large #s it would make it easier for us to see the vdi thanks again
Yes I have an old bike I converted to a E bike and it has taken me to places off the bike trail that are beaches and other hiding places I would have never gone to walking :) Yeah
Yessir!
I’ve been on and off detecting for 7 yrs, having used a nox 600. Detecting in Yonkers, I haven’t found anything significant yet (w/ only about 2 hrs in 😂) but I’m learning the deus II. Using the deep HC setting I found worked well in trash areas….i found 4 modern coins in a row in a very trashy park in that setting (I guess avoiding all of the shallower surface junk ?)
This may sound silly but your objectives as a new detectorist are, 1.) be hyperfocused on the efficiency of your swing. Does it lift up at all? 2.) Get used to the sounds of the Deus 2, it is the ultimate sound inference machine. 3.) Work on recovering targets quickly and efficiently.
When you build up an inventory of sounds in your head to go with the target ID's your detecting will take off.
Beautiful bike
Thank you!
Let's Go!
Great time detecting!
Yessir
Yes plenty of beaches here, with no close parking..I like that it has the rack for the scoop
Yes this one is designed perfectly for my detecting needs.
Purchased one few months ago . Also jerky rigged it to go much faster. Helmet always.
Nice!!!!
I just recieved an ebike it's amazing. I'll premier it soon. Your going to enjoy the fat tire beach ebikes. Very cool.
Nice!
Just in time for some lunch time viewing. Thanks 🙏
Awesome video marrow, thank you. Keep videos coming. Please went out the other night. Got 2 silver rings, one with A
Turquoise stone other Just think plain band.
28 pool tabs, that was fun. Five months into this metal, detecting still no gold.I'm overdue
Keep digging those low and mid tones.
Great pull Merrill, a walking Liberty half is high on my bucket list. When coins were Art....
Thank you so much! Yes that coin is beautiful art!
Very nice👍🤓👍. Great to have, especially in the city .parking spots are hard at times
Yes indeed!
It looks great, just one small problem your going to kill it on the beach seawater and sand don't mix well!
Anyway enjoy while it works!
Yes especially the iron parts.
Nice bike nice find nice hunt thanks for posting
Thanks for watching!
These ebikes are great. Would also highly recommend an e scooter if you are riding on pavement....its so much easier to load in a car than the bike, thats one of the main reasons why i love it so much...dont have to throw on the bike rack... Each one has its own application...fat tire bike is great on wet sand beach
Thats a great idea.
I'm going to enforce the access message using my fresh water beach knowledge which may apply here in an indirect way. Human laziness. Most of my beaches are drive up access and you're at the beach after a 1 minute walk at most 80% of the time. What I'm noticing is.......that 20% of the time when you're a bit further away from your vehicle..........I find more jewelry and coins. My theory is when people are close to parking, people will walk their valuables back to their vehicle easily enough. Once they have to walk a bit further........they opt to keep those items with them and of course lose them. I'm sure this applies to salt beaches as well however you have to consider sand movement which I have very little of. That being said..........other detectorists are also going to opt for the closer easy access hunting grounds and ignore the further out of the way spots.........which may in fact have more drops according to my theory. So......the moral of the story is don't be lazy, whether you're a beach goer with valuables on your person or a detectorist looking for lost valuables. :)
Agreed
Great job buddy, I love my Engine Pro, in fact I now have 2 😮
GARY IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!
boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
Thank you!
I don't mind e-bikes on the beach or street, but they are a scourge on mountain bike trails.
I could imagine
Gorgeous walker, my favorite coin. Stay dirty 👍
Stay dirty! And Sandy!!!
My 16 year old cat likes to play with little toy cars!
Good plan!!! I dang sure ain't paddling a bicycle
It is the only way to get to the secret spots. I use an electric scooter most of the time to avoid the high parking fees!
Yes!
Awesome Hunt .. Cool EBike and Congrats on the Walker.. Happy Hunting. Peace
Thank you Danny
Merrill, you look like Fred G. Sanford on that bike with all of your junk.
Maybe I look like a Redd Foxx :)
Have a space peanut 🥜 t-shirt from when mr. Tones had a tshirt run. Basically Mr peanut in an astronaut helmet. Have yet to find anyone that know what it refers to ha.
Meu irmão obrigado laik irmão...
Do yo find a pole or something to lock it to to prevent someone from throwing in their truck?
These things get stolen like that often in my town. The dealership loves it though!
Motor doesn’t work without the key. You can pedal it though. I keep it close enough and I’m always aware of my surroundings.
20-inch fat tires... deflate to 10 pounds and you'll be the Sand King! ;-)
I have a Lectric XP, with similar configs.
Interesting. Do the deflated tires help you on the dry sand?
@@MetalDetectingNYC Yep. Dropping the pressure widens the "footprint" of the tire, which helps the bike stay on top of the sand. At full pressure, the tires go deeper. And unlike detecting, you don't want your bike to go deeper.
I actually learned all this, even before I picked up my e-bike, by watching a motorcyclist on UA-cam. Her name is Itchy Boots, and she's traveled most of the world on her motorcycles. Another e-biker confirmed this when I asked him. You might want to invest in a rechargeable air pump... underinflated tires here makes the bike squirrely on pavement.
@@d.rodrickeamon6133 thank you
Yes sir, the beach is sand.
So I take it Indiana Tones had an eBike also?
Yes! Metal detecting biker gang!!! 🤣
😂space peanuts 😂😂😂
I dont know about you, but when ever I find a toy, I see it as more than junk because it was some little humans treasure who was probably very disappointed to loose it.
I feel the same way
Is the bike designed primarily for beach use? Usually, they aren't. Salty environments do not work well with electronics and bicycles in general. For many reasons.
Possibly not. This is what was recommended. Time will tell.
My sister has one! jHa ha ha ha!!
Hi I am looking for a good machine. Work at a depth of 3 to 4 meters or more to find different minerals such as gold or silver or iron and more. Work in mountainous and plain areas. What do you suggest to me? thank you.
Reach out to my friend @IndianaTones at iratemetaldetectors.com
Are you still using the crater maker? Your sounds are a little different than earlier, just wondering if you’ve adjusted your settings?
Different right now. I am using Beach Sens, Full Tones, Audio Filter 4, Salt Sensitivity 4
Love your vids. Just subscribed. Do you own a vanquish 440,if you do what do you think about it. That's all I currently own. Hoping to upgrade soon
I am no longer rating detectors. I recently became XP’s American Ambassador. My friend @IndianaTones took over what I was doing and has all of my non XP detectors. You can reach out to him at iratemetaldetectors.com
Thanks 👍
Made for speed? Maybe you should try bowling.
Way too fast for me!
I have a 540 vanquish . I can get a 36 over a rock in the sand by the beach , man made wave block? Any way I keep getting a 36 38 but when I use my pinpointer it doesn’t detect anything. Thoughts?
My guess would be a big piece of iron fastened to or under the rock.
Thanks !

Merrill i have watched all your vids probably twice now your starting to look like a sell out you didn't pay for that bike i understand you have a family to support but you're edging closer to sell out it hurts my heart hope your making good money to sell to the people that followed you for years one of the best detecting channels ever so much teaching and knowledge now it's turning into an e bike infomercial wtf Merrill
I thank you for your words and your support but what exactly is a “sell out”? If you are given an opportunity and you are excited about it, why not take it? Does a non sell out say no thank you and pay for it themselves? A company offered me a free bike and I took it. There is nothing wrong with that.
you're doing electric bike review now.. this is sade
Oh stop if someone offered you a free bike you would take it and review it too. I choose what I do on my channel and you could feel free to go if you are butt hurt.
it's ok for anyone to be proud of what they are just as long as they're not White.
don't waste your time telling me how awful and hateful i am for pointing that out because i'm not reading any replies.
Did Indiana tones give up?
No way. I’m In the vid. I have a lot of editing to do have about a million hours of video to edit lol. Work has been busy with all the heat waves and extreme weather events.
Glad to hear that tones. Best wishes from Myrtle Beach
Glad to hear that. 🎉🎉 Best wishes from Myrtle Beach
Wear a helmet!
Thank you for the concern.
Yep pass lol good until ya get hit by a ram . Car at least ya have steel around ya get a punchers kit good one even 650cc trail has found a few tent stakes.😂 that is a big pain flat tyre's make sure ya have all keys with ya at all times.
With all the unlocks hitting me is like hitting a deer anyway. Thanks for watching.
