He has the correct technique for Burton's harsh vocals he just isn't putting enough distortion into them. Burton's heavy voice is basically a half yell/half growl, all in the throat and it must be high volume. His cleans are very good though. Great effort from him, I'm impressed!
Especially the chorus is astounding!
He can actually sing death metal. He tried to do a hardcore yell here. Check his work with NIGHTRAGE, you will be surprised.

The clean vocals are spot-on. Perfect. The yelling parts have almost an oldschool punk rock or thrash metal vibe, which is fine. It doesn't have to be death metal vocals. Could be exactly what FF needs.

This was always a favorite of mine to sing. I can actually do the distorted yells like Burton could along with the cleans, not sure if this guy was going for something cleaner intentionally. Problem is, that kind of distorted yelling puts your clean vocals out of commission fairly quick. One or two songs in a row isn't bad, but a whole set list will definitely put the kibosh on your cleans, especially with higher range like what you'd hear in Final Exit. Mixing screams/yells with cleans is very difficult.

He is not growling he is actually shouting. Kinda like a hardcore singer.

I am giving this a cautious thumbs up. The real test will be will he work well live and how does the new material stack up.

Nailed the clean vocals, struggled with the rest. Not bad though. I've definitely heard worse attempts over the last 20 something years.
He can be WAY more heavy and agressive. Check out his work with Nightrage (Martyr's crown and Insiduos)
@Maestro TheKLOWN listen to his catalogue and then you can make and informative cool comment. He was just trying to do something different that suits FF music, not just trying to be a copycat. If you dont like it thats fine, but keep your insults (I saw your other comments) to yourself.

I find this to not be acceptable. Not saying its got to be Burt, but I do expect there to be a one up from the incoming vox and I find this to sound like heavy metal karaoke with little feel in the songs.

Burton is hard to emulate because his harsh technique is terrible for your throat. There's a reason he sounded terrible at the end. These cleans though! Niiice

I'm very impressed with his clean vocals, Perfect tone! The aggressive vocals are not nearly as powerful as Burton's nor are they raspy at all. This sounds more like aggressive talking not that aggressive roar Burton has. That being said very good. Just not right for Fear Factory IMHO.
I'm a huge fear factory fan big fan of Burton's vocals I'd be totally happy if guy was the new singer really impressed

Guys . No the only reasons the clean vocals are spot in is because he has it put through all the reverb. Honestly very disappointed in the rest of the vocals.
