    Useful tip: if you really dont want to modify your harness, you can trim male and female tab connectors and plug them right into the harness socket. I isolate mine with a little piece of cardboard between them and carefully secure everything together and seal it with good electrical tape, usually super 33 or super 88 if its in a wheel well or at the nose of the truck.

      I'm going to redo everything in a couple of months bc I'm going to install another horn.

      @Rockcreekgarageworks I mean, give it a shot. Its just a tab of cardboard, a couple crimps, and some tape; but the 4Runner I did this to 5? years ago that had shredded turn signal harnesses in the front wheel wells is still like this and ripping all over New England. The radio too, if I recall.

    The compressor should be mounted vertical and not horizontal...very important. Also the compressor should be powered straight from the battery with at least a 10 gauge wire and use a relay triggered by the factory horn wire. You will have a significantly louder sound. Your volume is affected greatly by these 2 factors.

      Thank you for the info. I currently don't have the truck with me, but once I move back home I will make an updated video with the changes and compare the 2. Like I said I'm no expert so any advice I do appreciate it.

    It wasn’t that loud like they advertise

      I'm not sure which model that was advertised. I bought mine off a friend and it's is loud enough to scare ppl and get their attention. I will say bc it's facing the passenger side, the sound is quiet on the driver side. Will have to add one facing that way!

    Does the sound diminish if you press longer on the switch? IOW, can the compressor maintain a constant sound? I bought two horns for my GMC 2500. Still on the fence about installing them.

      @licenseguru7025 not yet, my wife has my truck in TX, and I am in Cali until I retire at the beginning of next year. That's why I haven't made the videos for the cab lights or the tow mirrors. I will order the 2nd horn once I'm home and do the install as suggested by another viewer and make a video.

    I guess for more sound you need multiple! There are no mounting instructions on the website. Is the horn as advertised? or are there better options out there? Thinking of putting one on my F 150

    • @Rockcreekgarageworks
      @Rockcreekgarageworks  10 місяців тому

      So it didn't come with instructions, that's why I just attached it to my horn. It does get people's attention because it isn't what they would expect when they try to cut you off. For mounting as long as you have a drill it can be put anywhere.

      @@Rockcreekgarageworks I was reading when I live its against the law to have that loud of a horn on your car. :(

    • @Rockcreekgarageworks
      @Rockcreekgarageworks  10 місяців тому

      @jaygolden4218 There are some states that have specific regulations. The way I look at it is if you go to autozone, they have a section for upgraded horns. I don't know decibels but if they can sell them in the state why not get your own set.

    That horn sounds like crap. Their advertisement makes it sound super loud. My Hornblaster train horn is so loud people get out of my way real quick. I wouldn't waste my money on Moto horn kit. You can buy something similar from harbor freight for half the money if you think this Moto horn is loud.

      @@Rockcreekgarageworks I have a kit that actually sounds like a train. You need several larger horns and a compressor with a tank like actual trains have. An actual train horn kit is around $1500. Also, it still sounds like a train horn even when recorded with a phone.
