Arya's "That's not you" comment is a callback to Season 1. Ned is telling her how she'll be a Lady one day and have children, and she says "No, that's not me". Nymeria is in the same position - she doesn't want an owner or to live safely within a castle, she wants to be the leader of a pack in the wild. That's why Arya smiles as Nymeria walks away, she understands.
and people not understanding it is the perfect example why season 7 writing is so bad.
@@orothien Don't blame short attention spans and bad memory on the writing... that scene was fine. If they had been paying attention to all the little things along the way, they'd have picked up on it.
Now, of course, there are other things where the writers/showrunners totally screwed the pooch, but that scene wasn't one of them.
It’s laughable how quickly Euron has 1000 ships built on an island virtually devoid of trees.
not to mention the crew to sail said 1000 ships after
Well, he Wanted a 1,000 ships, he certainly didn’t get that many. Thought I read somewhere a few years back he got a little over half that.
You realize they go ashore & steal all the supplies and stuff they every have right?
Aemon one eye. Daemond the rogue prince. Rhanerya the realms delight. Maegor the cruel. Aegon the conqueror. Daenerys stormborn. Her nickname solidifies her Targaryen heritage and aura 💯
That dudes complaints are weird...
Oh only if Danaerys listened to Olenna and ignored Tyrion’s advices from here on.
But that would imply that she is like mad king
@@khushbhandari2569 no. Olenna tells her she outlived all the men by ignoring them and Danaerys should do the same meaning use her advantage while she has the chance.
She had as much military power as Rhaenyra at this point!
3 fully grown dragons, at least 2 major house alliances, sitting on the bay of Dragonstone directly across King’s Landing.
She should’ve taken the capital at this point.
Actually, if only the writers remembered that Tyrion is smart and wrote him that way. And many characters, especially on Danys side are written much stupider than they used to be. But the writers wanted forced stakes without working for it.
@@DarthDarkly Tyrion is smart but he still cares for his family and that impaired his advice
no one ever understands the "thats not you" line arya gives nymeria
She means that nimeria is not a pet like Arya is not a lady. Arya always says “that’s not me” when they tell her she’s a Lady. She’s not she’s a Beast
Right? That moment in season 1 is such a character defining moment. More so than the entire house of black/white arc.
Hard to catch on the first watch…
@@jeffstorey9147it’s not
Those same people liked Season 8
Things a person says when they're used to Game of Thrones season 1-6 pacing:
"It's gonna take him so long to get there!"
just wait until season 7 ep 5 and 6 and Carter just accepting that the show is going to be trash from now on and that the pacing makes no sense
I forgot that ship war completely 😅
remember in season 1 when arya and ned were talking about her being a lady? arya said "thats not me" her saying "thats not you" to nymeria was a callback to that
4:00 Yeah, she was born on dragonstone. Viserys and Rhaella (Dany, Viserys, and Rhaegar’s mother) were sent there once it became dangerous being in King’s Landing.
stormborn is just part of her title like breaker of chains and mother of dragons! she is clearly a proud targaryen
Arya saying it's not you, is a call back to season one, when she was talking to her father, and she asked of she could be lord of a holdfast, and he told she would marry a great lord, and her sons would be knights and princes and lords, and she told him NO, thats not me.😊
Olenna is 100% right. Tyrion is an idiot when it comes to war. He knows how to rule in times of peace - not war. When he was Hand for Joffrey he never dealt with the war aspect as that was all Tywin.
Ellaria is right. Tyrion doesn’t have the stomach for war.
Tyrion defended the capital city against Stannis at the Battle of the Blackwater, and even led the forces going out of the walls to fight. He can lead in times of war, it's just that now he is really going against his own family and even against Castery Rock and the Westerlands (his people) and that is hard for him.
@@aaronia8092 it's not even that. it's because of some decisions the writers made to make an idiot out of him at the end, not predicting some things, but he can also only predict if he knows what's going on. He never met Euron so he has no idea what that man is capable of. Cersei is on another level, but still it's her connection with Euron and also Danys "character development" that make it hard for Tyrion. There is in fact no war and therefore no one can tell what he can or cannot do in war times. War is a term of long fights, many battles and capturing important points and castles like Casterly Rock, and also making important allies, but regarding what happens to those, and also the quick pacing through S7 make it impossible to say there is a war between Cersei and Dany.
@@aaronia8092 Even with Tyrion getting such a huge advantage by nuking Stannis' fleet, Stannis still almost won the Battle of the Blackwater. If Tywin hadn't come to defend the city, the Lannisters would have lost control of King's Landing.
Yea what a great advice "be a dragon" lol
@@withxoutxlife what about the fact that Tyrion had to defend the castle with the bare minimum garrison with bad morale since the Lannister armies were OUT fighting a war.
"That's how you know it's a great season". Oh you sweet summer child....
As soon as I heard that sentence 😭😭 apparently Ed Sheeran elevates television 😂
Clearly sarcasm
“Death to Missandei” lmaooo Cannon. I came for the Arya/Nymeria reunion but that was funny 😂
should have listened to Olenna tsk tsk.
are you kidding? lol
2:50 Blackfyre is the name for a specific family that took the name Blackfyre after the founder, a bastard of Aegon IV Targaryen, was given the main Targaryen hereditary Valyrian steel sword, Blackfyre (Then was later legitimized and rebelled against his trueborn brother). Families do not have a specific bastard name, they come from where you grow up. Jon’s bastard name is snow because he grew up in the north, despite being born in the south. You also only have a bastard name if you are the recognized child of a noble. Smallfolk don’t have two names. Gendry is the son of Robert, but since Robert didn’t claim him, it’s just Gendry. If Robert were to claim him, however, he would take the name Waters, the bastard name of those born in the crownlands, and King’s landing in particular. If he were legitimized, he would take the name Baratheon.
Thank you, I was going to make this point 😊
Actually Gendry in the show at least.. Goes by Gendry Rivers.. As he was born in the Riverlands. He says as much in the show. But you are right about the rest. Your bastard name has nothing to do with your parents but where you are from.
@@hypocritexthe show messed this up! Gendry was born in Kings Landing and should've been Gendry Waters
@@hypocritex Yeah, I know they call him that in the show, but I usually just disregard dumb show errors like that.
i wondered how Cersie could just yap fake news about Danny and they believe it.. but then i remembered the real world.. and it made sense. especially with examples of peoples lack of critical thinking levels during the pandemic lol ( also seeing lady tyrell in same room as danny is wild!!)
Actually, what exactly did Cersei say that was fake news? Dany did all the things she said. Dothraki are known for doing the things she said they would. You’re just seeing it from the other perspective this time, not Dany’s. Everyone is the hero in their own story. And everyone can be the villain in someone else’s.
7:42 "it's gonna take him so long to get there"
ah... my sweet summer child, welcome to season 7 of GoT :)
Thought about the same thing🤣
And this is where everyone starts complaining we didn't have filler travel on screen 🙄
Took me until now to realize what Arya meant when she said to her wolf that’s not u
She understands Nimeria is not a pet - like Arya is not a Lady. They are both born to be savages!
You shouldn't be allowed to vote if that took you that long
Robert WAS the one who called for Danny’s execution in the beginning…that why Rob and him were arguing for a little bit at the beginning, back when he threw down his “Hand” pin on the table at him as he refused to support his plan to kill her.
I think you meant Ned
they idolize tyrion sm lol just wait for next ep to realize olenna were right ab him
I'll never understand why Sam didn't give Jorah milk of the poppy instead of just plain rum. He could've just sedated him and done what he needed to do.
Sam kinda forgot about milk of the poppy
He likely couldn’t just take milk of the poppy without anyone noticing or inquiring why he would need it, where as rum is seemingly self explanatory and would go without question.
Jon would only be a blackfyre if he was of the Blackfyre line, which he isn't. It is basically a House of its own, and started from Aegon IV's bastard son Daemon, who was legitimised but didn't want the name Targaryen so adopted the name of the Ancestral Valyrian Sword of House Targaryen, Blackfyre
It doesn't matter what Family you are a bastard of, just where you was born. You could be the bastard of a Martell from Dorne, but if born in the North you'd be Snow despite being Dornish, or If you are a Targaryen Bastard born in the Riverlands, your surname would be Rivers
*Daemon
@@Hyperi0nn Thanks, too confusing with Daemon, Daeron. Aegon. Aemond and Aemon😂
@@AlwaysRightAllNight Yeah I get you! :P No worries!
To Brig, Daenerys was indeed born in Dragonstone. Queen Rhaella was only a few months pregnant when she escaped to Dragonstone during the Rebellion. After Robert took the Iron Throne, he sent Stannis to take the last remaining Targaryen stronghold but newborn Dany and Viserys have been smuggled away by loyalists before they could take the castle.
Meanwhile logistics is no issue in House of The Dragon. They made Mainland Westeros/ King’s Landing is like a day travel from Dragonstone.
@11:29 that’s not true. Rhaenys and her dragon were shot out of the sky while trying to conquer Dorne during Aegon’s conquest. And if you don’t believe me just wait until the battle of the gullet in season 3 of hot d. They had these weapons during hot d, but since dragons left westros for so long I guess they just forgot how to build them and all the old ones just broke? But Qyburn found people to remake them to attack Dany’s dragons.
Re-watching after years now, it was so dumb of Tyrion to say "the seat of that power is a Castely Rock", when the series clearly showed that it hasn't been, since even when Tywin was still alive. Strike one for Tyrion this season. It's already visible that G.R.R.M's hands wasn't on the series anymore. Those fools could never write for characters like Tyrion, Little Finger and Varys. Lower your expectations.
Dude said "He could still be a giver"...
Have'nt had anyone stun me in a long time. That's a good boy right there. Momna should be proud.
Crazy comment
Arya has a whole conversation with Lannister soldiers and none of them mention they have lost the north and there is a “king” there now 😂
tyrion so stupid after season 5
Yes, it's a shame. When he joined Daenerys, his IQ went underground
After Season 4
season 7 has his flaws but damn some scenes are beyond beautiful
Season 8 is just people staring at eachother.
well visuallly it looks good. it's just writing-wise that is an issue.
It’s not you meaning it’s not me. She was never meant to be a lady and her wolf was never meant to be in captivity. They are the same. That’s why that can be together. Aryas growth is beyond
you will appriciate olennas words soon enough
Varyss is the GOAT, he is the underrated character
Verys.😊
@@tonismith3707Varys
Not in the later seasons.
Until
The writers cannot write intelligent characters like Tyrion, Varys and Little Finger cause they don't have the writing of GRRM anymore. They made them so dumb in the later seasons. So we're stuck with TV writers like D & D.
BTW It does seem weird having Jon and Sansa having arguments in front of strangers. Let me tell you this has never happened as far as royalty in the real World. Perception is everything and nobody can disagree in front of King or Queen. Cause it can jeopardise the legitimacy and send a land into chaos. The writers are not very educated in this matter.
Olena tirando la precisa siempre
Robert did give the order to assassinate Dany, and he was always in contact with Illyrio Mopatis who was housing the fugitive Targaryens. I think Varys is a survivor, but even. before Robert was dead he was working for a Targ restoration.
5:00 It always bother me that varys never told Daenerys that Ned Stark was the only one in the small coucil refused to approve the assesination hit on her.
Arya isn't acting weird. She's acting like the Hound!
during the final battle:
"oh this looks sick" :|
16:34 Carter missed the most genius transition of the century. It makes me uneasy too and it is supposed to make people uneasy but it is also the part of the true viewing experience and without it, it wouldn't be real Game of Thrones. xD
Anyone that doesn't understand "That's not you" should not be allowed to vote.
Arya is getting to see Nymeria one more time & understanding that she can't be a "tame" wolf just like Arya can't be a lady. Arya learns a lesson that her whole life she hates people asking and expecting her to be a lady.... but she did the same thing to her wild just now! That self realization is going to help her going forward when a very comfortable/easy/intriguing offer will be made & she has to be able to say while that offer is so great in so many ways....its not her and she can't compromise that. Not for security, not for love.
"can't get any better."
Well.. you see...
Okay so, ill be honest with you guys, youre either going to like these last 2 seasons, or youre going to be like the majority of people and be disappointed. There are a LOT of things they could have done that would have played into stuff built up over the last seasons, but then they threw those plans out the window. Many of the actors also werent happy with them either.
But regardless, once you have finished I would suggest giving the video "I rewrote game of thrones infamous ending and people it" by Uniquenameosaurus a watch. There are something things he suggests that i dont agree with, but a LOT of what he wrote would have made for such a great ending to the show and far better than what the two buffoons did. It is a 2 hour video though, so fair warning on that.
Blackfyre was the name of Aegon the Conqueror’s sword. One of the Targ kings gave the sword to his bastard Daemon over his true born son and heir. Daemon changed his name to Daemon Blackfyre is where that name comes from. They were Targyreans but still bastards, even though legitimised.
Tyrion giving super great advice once again...
React to alice in boderland
This show is epic
"It's gonna take Jon SO long to get there" 😂😂😂
9:00 yall have already seen there is a way to kill dragons, when you watched house of the dragon.
7:46 She is striving to be Jon’s liege. Lieges generally do not travel to their vassals for their vassals to pledge them fealty, it’s the other way around. Also, could potentially be dangerous for her to go herself on Drogon, which is the only case wherein it would even be faster for her to travel to Jon.
14:06 "respectfully" ahahahahah
And this is where everyone starts complaining we didn't have filler travel on screen 🙄
Varys can't just give orders Carters. He just carried it out. Robert wanted to kill Dany her entire life.
BRIG's COOKING again!! hahahaha
To me, Tyrion’s problem is that he really underestimates Cersei and how much she knows how to play the Game of Thrones. Guys, Cersei learned at the feet of Tywin. He was always a few steps ahead of his enemies and Cersei is proving to be the same. Tyrion always believed that he was smarter than Cersei. I think that’s what happening here.
Unpopular opinion but I liked the last two seasons. They are different from before and different from each other but I was grateful for the great acting and stunning sets.
Good thing it's an unpopular opinion
Fuck man. My heart is literally breaking as we keep getting further 😂
Season 7 honestly is still enjoyable, it's season 8 that sucks.
Yeah Season 7 still had some pretty banger moments
Yeah the second half is where it starts to derail a bit more but even there it has some cool moments and scenes.. episode 7x4 is my last favorite episode in the show
I really tried my best to try and continue to watch all your reactions right to the end, but it seems I underestimated just how painful watching it all will be (I struggled throughout these 2 episodes).
I will come back for 7x04 and then will bid farewell to GOT reactions.
Thank you for the reactions to the 6 previous seasons.
First 2 episodes were great.
Oh the drama lol why announce it? Just go
Arya didn't get faceless man training to kill a normal middle age woman.
It will come around Cannon & she won't listen
Just got reminded how Ch'Vyalthan makes a cameo in this episode lol
In the books Arya constantly dreams of Nymeria, and a gigantic wolf pack she rules over.
I wouldn't be surprised if at some point during the WW conflict in the books this massive wolf army appears.
2:45 targeryan bastards are called Dragon Seed. We saw that in HOTD. Their surname idk.
REACT TO HISTORIES AND LORE!
No one should be comfortable or even smile at the sight or smell of burning flesh. It is morbidly horrifying in both sight and smell.
Sam and the arch maester could have called the book. War for the Seven Kingdom.
Watching HotD first really reduces the reveal of Qyburn's Scorpion.
"It's gonna take him so long to get there"-

Kaladin Stormblessed
People can never see the big picture cause literally everyone in the show is self serving and Northerners specifically are stubborn as hell lmao.
i HATE this new table…
KING CANNON never puts his feet up anymore…
Daenerys Stormborn.
Jon Notstormborn or Jon Borninbloodbath ~
Here is where I stared hating Tyrion
No one watches Tyrion's plans be prepped and think "this sounds bad or dumb". Because they aren't. He just is up against his own sister & brother and both, especially Cersei, were listening to Tywin for decades while Tyrion has very little military experience and while he wanted to please his father it seems like he gave up or understood he never would gain his father's favor, therefore decided he should just play to his strengths and what interested him. Tyrion says early in the show he likes playing the game & being Hand because he can best others & it makes him feel good. Even Shae asks him to leave: "I can’t. I do belong here. These bad people are what I’m good at. Outtalking them, outthinking them. It’s what I am. And I like it. I like it more than anything I’ve ever done." Tyrion got rid of Slynt and put Pycell in his place, he talked the dumb guard into letting him out of his Sky Cell in the Eyrie, he used wildfire in the Battle of the Blackwater, he told different stories of Myrcella's possible political marriage match to different people, etc. But he also trusted Shae, gave Joffrey whores he then tortured & killed, sent Myrcella to Dorne where she will later be murdered, etc. Being clever doesn't mean being intelligent or wise.
@@orphanedhanyou nobody is reading all of this 💀
I think you guys need to really think about Jons actions and not blindly support his choices. He's desperate but his choices are reckless and he has succeeded thus far with pure luck rather than any ability of his own. Leaving his people with the threat of imminent attack is unquestionably stupid and another terrible writing choice.
@jwhite-1471 it's terrible writing because it's not intentional. They're actively portraying him as a great ruler but it's not how he is coming across.
I would argue there is no "threat of imminet attack" as, as Jon said himself, Kings Landing is far to the south (bullshit fast travel aside) and they are keeping an eye on the White Walkers so he would have ample time to sail to Dragonstone and back before either became an imminet threat
@CopperKnight027 the closest comparison is Tyrion in s2 when he is preparing Kings Landing for Stannis' imminent attack and the Lannisters are in desperate need of allies so they treat with the Tyrells. But, unlike Jon, Tyrion remains in the capital and sends Baelish to negotiate terms with the Reach. It was imperative that Tyrion remain in the capital. Jons decision to leave in such uncertain, dangerous times after being named ruler, protector and commander was reckless, needless and borderline stupidity.
@@cara2290 I would say different circunstances, different people. But if that's your opinion, that's your opinion, I respectfully disagree
@@CopperKnight027 same circumstance, different people.
It's still a shame that they skip the intro
Tyrion saying "On a night like this, you came into the world" to Daenerys is a stupid thing to say considering she was literally born during the worst storm in known Westeros history, like the storm famous for destroying the remains of the Targaryen fleet during Robert's rebellion.
It really isn't one of the stupidest thing he said, stop grasping at straws for things to complain about
@@AlwaysRightAllNight i mean by this point in the story it sort of is when you think about the context of the world, i feel like mostly beforehand his stupid sayings were mostly to the demerit of his character whereas this one is contradicting a giant event like 25 years prior. though theres obviously worse to come and perhaps my comment was exaggerated slightly for dramatic effect
I don't understand what is stupid here lmfao. It's a storm at night and she was born during a storm at night.
@@romainchambard4399 its just a bit of an understatement to say "a night like this" when comparing the two, ive edited my comment to convey my original intention a bit better since i worded it too harshly out of habit, i simply intended to say that comparing a regular stormy night to the one she was born on is stupid
@@TheCac it's because it's her name, the title of the episode ( also related to Euron and the Euron scene at the end). It's used to introduce the episode and a bit of history. You nick pick to much

Season 7 is better than your heard it would. This is because social media took the legitimist criticisms from season 7 & 8 and over sensationalized it. Saying " this is the worst thing in the world and the writers are stupid" gets more views that than saying " this is a 6 out of 10"
