I thought the same thing when I started watching Japanese dramas/shows - "Their acting is very THEATRICAL." The show isn't bad, but the acting in Japanese shows do come off very theatrical like a Play. I knew I wasn't the only one that got that vibe.

I feel like season 3 will start with the games continuing, but this time the front man forces gi-hun to watch with him, maybe like tie him down or handcuff him so he can’t leave, it seems like the frontman personally likes something about Gi-hun and now that they played games together they will now watch games together and then the mask off reveal will maybe happen then or later if they’re saving it still by then

I think I heard Brig mention Dexter and I know the show has been considered before by you guys. I highly recommend watching it. It's my second favorite show ever, and it's second only to Game of Thrones.

The increase in cancer was not factored in or the new variants that came about or the fact that many of these deformities in children born after this incident was and still is being passed down generation to generation or the premature deaths that occurred in youth years after the incident. The rate of many cancers increased and occur 10 years sooner. Dozens of childrens cancers came into being from this incident. The current victim toll I estimate to be over 400 million today. Death toll directly related to counting in diseases, cancer, radiation poisoning that led to premature organ failures, birth defects, genetic defects passed down that destroyed lives and cause premature brains and deaths to this day? unknown. This all speculation of course but like the scientists in the show. Just because you are told you are wrong doesn't change what happened next. Edit: according to a friend with russian parents and grandparents the deathtoll was 3 times what was estimated from the cleanup crew. It was over 80,000 from the crew and another 15000 or so from the city. most of which died within 5 years. The state refused to treat many correctly because it wasn't allowed to publicly admit they were dying of radiation poisoning. Many were given pain killers which eventually stopped working. They were instructed to be treated for the symptoms they had that aligned with the illness they most resembled. In short they were allowed to die

I dont think comparing this show to Squid Games is fair. Squid Games focuses on the realistic psychology of humans when in desperate situations as well as the financial disparity. Alice In Borderlands is a sci fi/fantasy show that also happens to have games where you die, but the ending of the show is literally in the title of the show. Alice in Borderlands.... Alice in Wonderland. Its all a dream..... There's a reason Squid Games blew up and AIB did not. AIB is good, dont get me wrong, its just not the same show as squid games.

The reason hiding under the bed worked is because in real time the fight would've lasted only about 2 minutes total, because the managers don't want too many players to die otherwise they wouldn't be able to continue the games. In that short of a time frame, the O's would just attack the first people they see who're in the beds, running, or fighting back. They wouldn't spend that time searching for the few players who *might* be hiding. Remember, Gi-Hun didn't tell everyone on the X team about the plan to hide, so there were only a select few players who were under the beds. All the other players were completely exposed to the attack.

Glad to find new reactors to this. Excited to go on this journey with some first-time watchers. Personally, i like this better than Squid Games. Squid Games is very good, but I like the mystery in this one and it's so expansive-like, their arena is the entire city. Also this has great action and i love action, especially when it involves blades and hand-to-hand combat. It's more rewatchable, i think. I watched Squid Games 3x until i felt like i had enough and would need a break. This one i watched like 5x and counting because everytime i convince a friend, i watch it all over again with them.

24:54 I think the reveal of the Front Man at the end would’ve taken away from Gi-hun’s pain and anguish from seeing Jung-bae die. In-ho wanted Gi-hun to be in pain and suffer, not be angry and feel betrayed. He saw Gi-hun’s pain and anguish from losing Sae-byeok last year then to anger toward Sang-woo, and wanted Gi-hun to wallow in hurt more. It’s his anger in the first place that made him come after the entire system.

Might just be my favorite show... so excited hehehe. I agree it might seem basic and performative at first, but it really defied my expectations

we all know the front man is a horrible person but he clearly didn't start out that way, he probably changed little by little until he was too far gone. And it looks like that may happen to Gihun too because in the first season he would have never had the plan to sacrifice people for the "greater good" but hes changing little by little. Maybe the front man sees his old self in Gihun and wants to show him that its hopeless to try to play the hero and save everybody

other people have said this too but i think the motive behind in-ho/the frontmans actions is to break gi-hun, setting him up to become the next frontman or be forced into the position. in-ho was a previous winner of the squid games, and he probably did the same thing to what gi-hun did here, with the same mentallity too. He won, but it didnt make him happier, since his wife already died after he won the games, like how gi-huns mother died, so he went back and tried to help end the games, but failed like gi-hun. his morals changed and he gained a nihilistic view and that might be related to a more complex reason to why he became the front man in the first place. in-ho also definitely had lots of close people to him die during the games and experienced the same betrayal as gi-hun did. when the frontman spoke up during the voting saying it was stupid that everyone was voting to stay, he was angry and frustrated, which I believe were his true feelings, but he was also mocking them because he already knows the outcome. You can tell because of the smirk and long distance stare from in-ho that he gives gi-hun worried. It is pointless, and the point of arguing alongside gi-hun is to further show him the "nature of humans", trying to make gi-hun think the same as him. Also, he literally killed someone right in front of gi-huns friend, snapping their neck, and saved him immediately to keep him alive. He shouldnt care that much, but he does, because he wanted to break gi-hun by killing him in front of gi-hun at the very end. In-ho knew he would do his hero game and he could have shut it down at any point but he didnt. He went along with it, and dragged everyone close to gi-hun with him, planning to make it as if everything failed at his hands, and that everything is pointless.

The book was so stacked that even being the best movie, it did the story dirty. The bathroom fight, getting the memory and finding out about horcruxes, Ginny kissing Harry, Trelawney making another correct prediction, finding out Snape was the one to tell Voldemort about prophecy, the cave, coming back to an actual battle in Hogwarts, Draco struggling to kill Dumbledore, Snape doing it himself, hbp reveal, the funeral, horcrux being a fake... These were all back to back to back to back.... They were all on the last third of the book so you wouldnt be able to relax when the next shock hit you... I just hope the hbo show does the job well

In fact, IN HO has been analyzing Gihun, remember that they made a bet in the limousine, he said that humans can be hungry beasts that don't care about anything and GIHUN said the opposite, while he was with them you could even see a certain part of humanity in him, but in a way he was DISAPPOINTED to see Gihun set his goal of going to catch the frontman sacrificing human lives, he was doing the opposite of what he initially wanted to do, he is practically giving IN HO the reason here.

I loved how the 120 was introduced, and the FrontMan was exceptional this season.

Arisu == Alice. Just how Japanese folks say it... And watch for spoilers... You want avoid all of them. This show has well narrative and spoilers ruins it.

Something u will notice when watching Japanese shows is that yeh, it is theatrical. Its not just anime that is over the top but live action acting is often aswell :) which in my opinion def has its own charm!

The moment most of the main characters were surviving too well I knew this season was definitely a set-up for season 3. Make us bond with the characters before killing killing them horrifically.

18:59 I just realized that Mariko's "Just today" was her doing the collaborative poetry in English she does in Japanese with Toranaga and others later in the series. She's acknowledging the poetry of John's words. Teaming up with and honoring him in a way he's unaware of. This show is so beautiful man.

The rebellion attack is a bad idea and goes against Gihuns morals but there really is no winning in that situation because the O team is at the advantage by have more men. X team attacking first would still go against Gihuns morals and the likley hood of them winning is so small. Also preparing for the attack and trying to hide as a group isn’t really a great defense either, there’s really nowhere to hide and group O could just corner them. Frontman is obviously trying to prove an ideological point to Gihun but the thing is about option and opportunity. If given more options and opportunities would the players make the same choices. And frontman knows this but he also knows that they exist under a system except he values it and wants to uphold it whereas Gihun wants to dismantle it and see who people are without it. Gihun is desperate and this is a Hail Mary plan. A dumb plan but the whole infiltration plan was dumb to begin. But we have to remember the games and In the second half of S1. They were pitted against eachother and as we get closer to those points in the games I think Gihun becomes more desperate because he knows that’s when the lack of humanity really begins and he’s trying to save the people who will die and the souls of the people who live.
