You can stealth kill zombies from behind with knives. And when a zombie has an item it'll have a little + sign when you hover over the body that way you can quickly tell. Also zombies sometimes have food so it's a good idea to actually kill some when you can.
Dude you coulda just looked for a rock/boulder and then broke small stones off it with your pipe wrench then craft the small stones into a stone knife, if you ever need a team mate to walk you through the game just give me a heads up?! I'll take you on a run with me and teach you the finer points of the game, I personally LOVE DayZ I think the game is awesome, it is and will ALWAYS be my first love, been playing it since it first was released as the DayZ mod for Arma 2 WAAAY back in 2013 and as a result I have over 14,000hrs in game 😁

you don't get blood on your hand when punch a zombie only time u get mod on hand if cut up and animals with no gloves on if you get blood on your hands you was it off any place get water just move mouse wheel to get option when u at water

Same "+" signal also goes for loot (clothes, electronic stuff*, etc)
