@10:46 The device needs to be re-activated, you do this with the original Mi account you began with. But after activating, can the device be used with another Mi account or must the original Mi account always be present/used? (For example if you sell/give away the device, must the original Mi account also be provided or can the next user use another Mi account?).
Yes the account is just for verification purpose and xiaomi doesn't want users to move from miui to other customs so they require just to verify and after unlock its just useless unless you give it purpose or just dispose.

when a thief gets your device he can't flash another rom and he is stuck with stock rom and device can be found by you.

Bro My device is not showing on miuunlock and I install the drivers after install the drivers confirm reboot the pc! Bcz I'm doing in netcafe if we reboot the pc then files are gone and same repeated what happened if not during reboot after install the driver's and show the device in miuunlock? Pls reply me🙂
My Account is added in MI Unlock Status okay after logging out and back in but when I get to fastboot and try to unlock my device I get the message "Please add your account in MIUI's Settings > Developer options > Mi Unlock status.", it was added successfully?
The fix was updating the MI utility through about page, waiting 168 hours :)

Hey munchy while waiting for the timer to finish can i change my sim and add my accounts and pretty much anything and after 168 hours and i open fastboot and the unlock bootloader it'll just erase everything on the process right? No need to remove my google accs?
I clicked unlock and it told me i need to wait 168 hours, i then unplugged my phone and turned off oem in the developer settings and turned it on again, is this okay or does this ruin the process? Is it okay to keep oem off or does it have to be on? And does me turning it off and on again reset my time?

hey munchy, i unlocked the bootloader and turned my phone on but it didnt ask me to "activate this device" and i saw an unlocked lock on the top of the screen before boot, did i do everything correct or it just doesent ask for it anymore?

Munchy , i have encountered a problem , I've tried unlocking my bootloader last week and it said that i have to wait for 168 hrs , after more than 168 hrs of waiting, i tried to unlock it again but it said the same i have to wait for another 168 hrs. Hey munchy, Let's say i login and attach my device while the sim is inserted, now when i go into fastboot where the internet is not needed, can i put my sim in anothee device to follow the tutorial? And if it tells me to wait for 168h then i know i can remove my sim but is it necessary to add my sim back before fastbooting and adding it to computer? I don't think that its necessary just need your view

It might be the version of windows (8,9,10) your using . Try this fix, google disable driver signiture verification. It didn't work for me, but you might be lucky
