As someone who has been surfing almost 2 decades but never surfed bigger waves except for one single 20ft day, I really appreciate this. Sometimes there’s almost this unspoken vibe with big wave surfing where it’s like….you cant even try surfing big waves unless you were born on a 12 ft gun in Waimea. I’ve always wanted to surf big waves. At some point, once you’ve trained and prepared properly, you just have to send it…right? Lol. I know for a fact these guys train very hard and I am willing to do that 100%. But at some point there’s gonna have to be a big jump up from what you’re used to. I would really like to see what that is like. It’s hard to find content geared towards surfers who are experienced in the water, but have never surfed big waves before.
sol- Egyptian for: soul. You must progress in, size and barrel waves. And how, you handle it-- or what, you do on-- waves. Hence; proper controlled-- moves. Respectful.
ahaha uhh sorry but I complete disagree with what this guys saying, thats the type of advice to get someone killed. Most big wave surfers train or surf all the time so they are already in good shape. He says none of that matters but literally said that him swimming and surfing growing up helped him get comfortable in his environment and most def got him in good shape too. But I guess this is isn't aimed at beginners so all that stuff should be locked on already.
