Just marathoned your bug videos today. Enjoying them man! Pretty cool. Subscribed now so I can keep up. You’re doing fine obviously but thought I’d mention that the door cards won’t last as long without the plastic sheet behind them. Easy to cut one up (use anything that’s plastic and thin) and your cards will last a long time and not wrinkle after a few rains and/or washes. Worth the 15 minutes it’ll take. Keep up the fun uploads! Love the car.

I know it's toasty hot where you live but there should be a plastic membrane over the inside door frame that stops moisture damaging the door card.
I just used some plastic sheet cut to size and carpet adhesive.
That dash makes me cringe every time I see it lol.

The pop-out window was highly edited. I didn't see you drop one screw and the C-clip went on the first try? My C-clip will always go flying and I have to spend 15 minutes looking for it! 😛 I don't have a Bug, but I really enjoy these videos. Great work!

This is one of my favourite projects... These cars are so simple... perfect DIY projects.

Great job on the Vent windows, curious if you cuts are inside exposed or exterior and after 2 yrs are there any signs of shrinkage or cuts opening more?

The cuts are on the inside so they don’t leak. But I sold the car so not sure how they’re holding up

watching these bug videos makes me regret starting my FJ40 first. I said it before, your vehicle selection is awesome. Where do you source your VW parts?

Ant those seats in my bug. What year do the come in? Can they be put in a 1964 bug?

I believe these are very common seats for this car

Great video. Do I have to remove everything (interior door panel, wing window, glass, etc) to do the outside door trim (chrome w/rubber scraper)? Working on a 1974 vw beetle. thanks again

It’s been a while since I did this so I don’t remember, but I think you do need to remove everything.

Well done, all around. Where did you get the door seal? Your door seemed to close easily with the new seal. Others have complained that their doors are hard to close after installing a new one.

Thanks buddy. I got the seals from JBugs. They came in a kit that includes all the seals for the whole car. The doors are a bit hard to close but not too bad.

Thanks for the information. My door seals leak a little, but first I want to replace the door hinges (they only sag a little, but enough to bug me).
My next project is to replace the carpet (for Christmas, my wife is getting me TMI Oatmeal ... not a surprise, but what I asked for). I watched your carpet installation video on your ‘69, and it was very informative, also.
My bug is a 1974 Sun Bug Super Beetle, however-but several years ago I installed the same wheel-well heater/defroster actuators that came on 1969 bugs (I got them from a guy in Britain). I was wondering if I’d have trouble installing the carpet around the wheel well actuator arms, but I saw that you had no trouble doing it. Your carpet had the slots for the heater actuators preinstalled, and mine won’t, so I’ll have to carefully cut the slits to make it work.
Thanks for all your videos, by the way, and give that little dog a pet for me.
