Yup, you have to understand his overhead, his staff cost, rent cost, web cost, inventory, replacement cost for equipment, marketing, market inflation and discount..
And that's true hopefully this opens the door so that more Jewelers will be transparent with their customers. Because shopping online is like the Wild Wild West you really don't know what you're getting it don't matter what it looks like what the paper says there's no guarantee that the value of jewelry is marked exactly on point.😢 once you open that box and put it on your neck or your body the value drops 30 to 40%.. So many things not even worth all that $$$$
I don’t know anything about jewelry, but it was eye opening seeing those bags of diamonds they rejected for being off color compared to the bag they actually kept. Thanks for the behind the scenes look!
Like he basically said, when the customer starts comparing side by side, they won't be happy. You would likely be able to notice things like color and clarity if you got a chance to compare apples to apples. Spotting it out while the diamond or piece stands alone takes a trained eye. I miss the industry and getting the opportunity to pass knowledge on to customers. The downside is once you know, you have to bite your tongue a lot when people show you their new "discount piece."

I'm not a jeweler but I am a well educated customer and I can tell you from all my years of research from buying stones and jewelry this guy knows his shit and couldn't be more upfront about the process. @@ryansmithc $80-$120 per gram on Cuban links is not reasonable. 😂🤣😂🤣😂 they sell for $35-$65 depending on KT. Trax is a certified rip off. On top of that some of his Cuban links aren't handmade they're the machine made ones. That's why they have so much space between the links.

Did you learn that diamonds are worthless and a huge scam? We have a endless supply of diamonds that a few companies control the out follow of them when to many are on the market and the quality to raise the price.

You missed the message. The diamonds are in demand and the supply is low because of Covid shut down the mining, cutting and etc. these is enough gold, silver and etc it just doesn’t grow on trees. It has to be mined.

I love the guys that just throw a bunch of diamonds that are the same color/relative weight and round into settings but pay no attention they're mixing grandma's 1920's diamonds with somewhat recent cuts.
they stand out like a sore thumb, they're nothing alike!
Today's diamonds have much more fire because of the change in cutting technology i.e. Sarin machine and so on, back in grandma's day , you probably had some dude moving a wheel with his foot driven pedal , like a bass drum pedal :) these beauties were all created by hand with no use of software aids of any kind and because of that have less fire but some people do like the uniqueness of these old stones, cushions have been pretty much been cut by hand always though.
All things being equal , the most important part of the cutting is the skill of the person creating the stone from a chunk of unshapen rock
If you haven't already . . . . please would you do a video to show the difference between Modern diamonds, Antique diamonds and Vintage diamonds.
