  • Here is a video of two original condition toy steam Bowman engines from the 1930s. Bowman made a wide range of steam toys in the 1930s, as well as making many of the steam toys sold under the Hobbies brand from the early 1920s. I hope you like the video, and you spot the still alight burner at the end.

    There's really something just 'special' about Bowman's for me John. For some reason its this brand of English steam engine that really takes me back to the bygone era of toy steam.
    Running a Bowman with that smell of steam oil and steam......it doesn't get much better!

    Very nice, the design and build quality of these steam toys always amazes me, they have survived in such good working condition. I have a Bowman 300 Live Steam Loco, about 1928, your video has motivated me to give it a run again soon. :-) Thanks for showing this - Paul
