Thank you, you really help me! I hope to face something really easy in the exam! I hope the same for everyone. Good luck! And remember we'll ace the paper
I have never been taught by a better teacher! I appreciate this very much! it's my IGCSEs tomorrow (FLE) what's the difference between a newspaper report and a formal report?
Sir can you please tell me how good this book is for preparation: IGCSE First Language English- Language and Skills Practice Book by Marian Cox. Your advice would mean a lot.
Hi Hannah - I am currently planning some paper 2 videos! :) In the meantime, do check out youtube channels Ms Duckworths classroom and SchofieldShakespeare - they have some excellent resources :)!
Hello. Your videos are amazing and super useful! Thanks a lot. I would like to know what are the different types of texts we should know for this section of paper 1. I know that a speech, an interview, reports and articles are some of them but I am pretty sure there are some others. Could you pelase tell me?
thank you so much for this !! one thing i really wanted to know is, is there a need to add subheadings throughout the report? to make it look more organized?
Hello, sir! How are you? So I'm writing my IGCSE's in October and so far my plan from now is to try to watch all your videos and after each try to apply it in a paper or so. Is there anything else that you think might be helpful, thanks !!
Very well, thank you Ashley. A good starting point would be to go through the various learning guides and material published by Cambridge and then watch my videos. The walkthroughs will be a massive help, too! Best of luck!
Wassup, thank you for such a helpful video, all I wanted to know is how would you conclude a news report, as in can you provide a basic idea so that I can work around it?
Usually, a newspaper will conclude with some prediction about future events or the next steps - often present tense. E. G. The school is currently urging people to email any information they may have with regards to the missing laptops.
Sorry sir i need your help Am doing grade 12 which is form 5 and I have a problem in understanding how to write an expository essay and to be specific on the giving direction essay sir 😓. 1. How do I start my introduction ?
How to write a newspaper report if the passage is given in first person and question asks you to describe your thoughts and feelings and to imagine what happened after a specific senerio. it's difficult to understand the title of passage is 'the old stone house' I really need help
hello, I wanted to know that is newspaper report the same thing as newspaper article? Also do we have to add a byline (name and location) after headline ? Your video is really helpful thank u 😃
No, they are different. But, if it's a newspaper task, it's always a report; I guess something you would expect to find on the front page. If asked to write an article, it's for a magazine. The formality will vary depending on the task. For a newspaper report, a headline is more than enough.
One more thing; for direct speech, we are supposed to take the exact quotations or the said things from the insert right? can we also make these up, for example, if I quote a character from the insert even though he/she didn't say it over there, but it is closely related.
I wouldn't quote exactly as you would be lifting... You would need to think of what that character would say within the context of the text and question.
I need to ask you a question regarding q3 paper1. How should practice writing all forms of nonfiction writing. Is it OK if a skim through the conventions of the nonfiction writing forms and a few examples from your videos and then go ahead with different past paper questions?
If you are new to FLE, I would practise non-fiction writing away from an exam piece. Once you feel confident writing in all the prescribed text types, then habe a go at q3 :)!
Has anyone found a past paper that includes a newspaper report for Paper 1 to have students practice? I have been searching and cannot find anything...
It's refers to when Kanye West stormed onto the stage of a music awarda ceremony when Taylor Swift was accepting an award... It's very old now 😂😂 Kanye = can't I can't believe it.

@@IGCSESUCCESS what is a FLE and where can I get the exam pieces from. Plz reply as soon as you read this. Its quite urgent.
@@BeReal206 FLE is just short for First Language English. Plenty of past papers on the Cambridge website :)!
Doubt: Do we include opinions in newspaper report, and if it is possible, how?
Hmm.. You might want to when including directed speech, but it is a factual and objective text type.
is the heading supposed to be in bold letters? can we do that?
You wouldn't be required to it.
In which question is a newspaper report most likely to come put in? Extended writing question 3? Directed writing?
Only q3. It isn't a text type for paper 2.
Is it fine if we write the report in four separate paragraphs; intro, A1, A2 and
A3?
Absolutely!
Has anyone found a past paper that includes a newspaper report for Paper 1 to have students practice? I have been searching and cannot find anything...
Yes... One of the most recent ones has a newspaper report.
