- How to Program a VFD. How to Read, Interpret, and understand a Programming and Installation manual of a Variable Frequency Drive or a VFD.
We understand the Safety Instructions, How to wire a VFD, How to configure a VFD, THe speed reference.
Variable frequency drives are used to control the speed of an AC Induction Motor.
We read the programming manual of an ATV320 Variable frequency Drive. If you know how to understand the Programming manual, Instruction manual, you will be able to set up, configure, wire, and run the VFD.
Since the programming manual is 400 pages, we have only covered a few important topics such as Preset speeds.
We see the factory configurations, graphical display, steps for setting up the VFD, reference mode, Monitoring mode, and configuration mode. In monitoring mode, we see how a VFD shows you the many parameters such as Motor Current, Motor Voltage, Mains Voltage, 3 Phase Voltage, Motor Speed reference.
Anand Systems Engineering has been using VFDs in Control panels for EOT Cranes.

Hi and thank you for the video:on my VFD i am not able to configure an Emergency stop, i have the Red mush button NC and i have the program P50, i set 19 and not 0 ( default) on the port X1, But when i connect the common (COM) wire and the X1 wire to the button, nothing happen! Could you help me please? The only way that i have to use the button Is the cut the COM that arrive to the forward/reverse switch! Thank you, Alberto

The speed of the rotor relative to the speed of the stator is equal for synchronous motors, while the rotor speed in induction motors is less than its synchronous speed

Hi Sir
After releasing joystick for hoisting up the brake is Taking some time and it is slipping the load
Can you suggest which parameter should i refer?
Deceleration parameter
Also. Brake should never slip the load , adjust the brake alignment or fill/change the brake oil .
Another parameter is Brake engagement time(BEN) , you can try to reduce that to engage brake fast
Brake torque is not enough, maybe increase brake torque ?

Dear sir,how to calculate vfd parameter through the motor name plate
On motors name plate , current and voltage will be given , buy VFD with minimum of 1.5 to 2 times current capacity of motor .
