SanDisk Cruzer Glide 3.0 256GB - Only 25MB/s write speed??

- In this video, I discuss how I determine the actual write speed of the SanDisk Cruzer Glide 3.0 256GB flash drive given my usage requirements. I explain why the drive shows 50MB/second write speeds in some tests, but not all tests... the tests which match my usage requirements show a write speed of about 25MB/second.
The following link is to a youtube video presenting some very informative insights into flash memory manufacturers and how they choose and utilize resources toward making consumer-grade USB flash drives...

...the introduction to that other vid also provides a good brief high-level intro on some of the weak characteristics of MLC memory used in consumer-grade drives, weaknesses that hardware within the USB flash drives themselves helps overcome. This extra effort is part of what creates the overall read/write times of these drives.

I wanted the question, "does it have an Activity Light LED", answered.
Good job on explaining things in this video.
It was like a how to use "CrystalDiskMark for Dummies" primer!
Also, if one ever runs out of firewood, one could
burn that packaging for at least 15 minutes!
Glad it answered your questions, thanks for stopping by!
I actually learned a lot, I appreciate it ! Great work
Thank you!
This video is the most logical and organized exposition I've ever seen. VERY INFORMATIVE.

No problem, Thank you for your reply.@@AshleyPurring
Excellent. Well done
Thank you.
Great Video! very informative.
Which USB stick would you recommend instead? for best read/write speed.
If you want fast backup and the ability to video edit right from an external device, I recommend an SSD. I've found "SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD" drives quite excellent... but there are others too. For USB Flash Drives, I don't really have recommendations... I use the drive I reviewed here... it's been good... I use USB without any expectation of high speeds or concern for speeds... I just like to avoid older USB Flash technology which is way way slow to be worthwhile. I suspect most modern popular SanDisk and other popular brand USB Flash drives are reasonable in speed and quality. (I have not purchased USB Flash since this review! :) )
And thank you for the positive words btw!
Nice work

Thank you
You're welcome
I think these are fake after the famous sandisk cruzer 3.0 around 2013. I bough 64GB for 60$ back then and it was blazing fast. more than 300MBs of read speed.
Thanks for the heads-up... if I get newer ones, I will compare.
holy jeez......i have seen in pictures that 3.0 usb sticks have a transfer speed of 4.8 gb per second.......and this one only transfers25 mb/s..................my 2.0 usb transfered 350 mb per second ......why 2.0 are better than 3.0 by sandisk?
It would be difficult to answer your question without specifics on the device you're referring to, the test results because marketing materials can often make claims which might not match typical experiences, users can mixup GB, MB, Gbps, Mbps and so forth. Generally, it's impossible to address a question like that with a reliable answer without knowing what's specifically being discussed.

@MeowRoofStudios, LoL, like half the Amazon Forest or something, I agree! It is 2023 now, forgive the delayed reply, was on long break from channel.
