Although I'm Indian, a lot of my family live in Burma and are from there. My dad was born there also, so we make ALOT of Burmeese food and I LOVE it. What you called Tofu Salad, we call it Tahu...&it's absolutely YUM. One of the best dishes is Khao soi or Ohn no khao swè. It's noodles in a chicken curry and coconut broth with toppings on top. That's the noodles you guys ate in the video. The keema plata is also like the Indian Paratha. Keema is what you call minced meat. I'm so happy you guys covered this cuisine, as Burma deserves a lot more attention, especially the minorities there who gave Burma it's flavors.
FINALLY my homeland, definitely my favorite type of Asian cuisine, I'm so glad my mom knows how to cook all the traditional meals. Although I don't speak it, I can listen and understand the majority and I prefer to call it BURMA rather than Myanmar =)
Im korean and burmese mix and it's hilarious how you guys pronounce some of the terms in this video 😂 You guys have to try the strawberry tapioca drink also called faluda by burmese people! It's delicious
I lived at my best friends who family happens to be from Myanmar for 3 months, and we had what you guys at ate literally almost everyday! I fucking love Burmese food! They are the sweetest people on the face of the earth lol I sent this video to them! hahah yay for Burmese food and people.
Wow this is amazing! My parents are from Burma but i live in New York. We dont have any Burmese restaurants or not that many on the east coast. Its really cool that u did Burmese food cus i felt like NO ONE knew where burma is or its culture. *praising u right now*
You guys are so freaking awesome for doing Burmese food. Love that you guys are so open to different ethnic's food, especially the smaller & neglected countries like Burma. This is why I love youtube and people like you, who delight in exploring new things and learning. This video just makes me love you guys even more ;) Thankyou & Keep up the good work!
You guys are awesome for trying my country's food. I feel proud to be Burmese and luckily can speak it. It was really nice how you tried to say some of the words, I respect that and yeah. You guys are awesome!
Omg you guys have nooooo idea how loud I screamed in joy when I saw this video on my subscription feed. X) I'm so glad that you all enjoy Burmese cuisine :3 There are actually a lot more unique dishes (especially the festive food) to try out haha Keep up the good work! Will always be rooting for you guys :)
Oh my god! Burmese food is the best. Every time our family goes out for family dinner, it's always Burmese, because I always beg them to take me there. They prefer Indian(I am not Indian btw), but I prefer Burmese or Chinese. So yes, if anyone lives in MD, there is a Burmese restaurant called Burma Road, go and eat there!
I love that you guys did Burmese food, my family came from Burma and we eat mohingan and that chickpea tofu all the time at family gatherings! Kudos to y'all.
The prata is actually an adaptation of the Indian paratha (Indian flat bread) and they're similar to Salvadorean pupusas in terms of the concept of the dish.
hey guys!!! I am really glad that u guys are doing this episode of Burmese food!!! Seems u enjoyed a lot too..Thx for sharing with the world. Make me miss my country though!!
you guys are legit- the future of entertainment for Asian Americans and America as a whole. The angles, the editing, the score, but most importantly, the personas on screen have so much energy.
For dessert, I would like to recommend "Shwe Yin Aye" (Coconut Cream Sherbet) and "Nga-pyaw-baung" (Banana pudding in coconut milk). And...Nan Gyi Thoke (Noodle Salad). I enjoyed watching this video! Thanks!
Omg I'm so glad you guys tried Burmese food yes its delicious ik 😉 there are lots more Burmese food to try also I'm Burmese and dwhea (can't spell my own kind) cx
+FungBrosComedy Hi! Just for clarification, the pata is based on the South Indian paratha. The Malaysian and Singaporean Prata is based on the South Indian one too. This is partially because of ancient Indian kingdoms ruling in those areas for a long time. Hope you enjoyed the food! I'm part Indian and Burmese as well.
There are no laotion places in my area. There are plenty of thai places hut they are all ran by lao people. Thai and lao are very similiar but thai food is just so well known. Lao food has a lot of different thai variation and traditional cuisine. Hopefully they can find a legit place.
Yes I'm Burmese!!! And it's (Ji-zu-tin-ba-de) to say thank you. And I love the 2 famous dishes so much it's pronunciation is (mo-hing-gaa) and (La-Pet-Tuk) but thanks for trying out our food.
There's definitely influence from India and China. But I'd say the ones that resembles Indian food have less spice, milder and are unique in a different way. In fact, this video doesn't really show more of the Chinese-influenced type of food in Myanmar (such as melted tofu soup; northern-rice noodle broth; Shan rice; Nan-Gyi-Thote and so on). The cuisine is really diverse in Myanmar.
Burmese food is quite popular in India and Bangladesh , kind of how Mexican food is popular in the USA. Also, since Burma was on the pilgrim road for Buddhist monks from China to India , a lot of those influences literally travelled there.
I was secretly hoping that Fung Bros Food would cover Burmese Food but it was one of those hopeless hopes. I had to read the caption twice coz I was so excited to see this. You guys did a great job representing our food. Kyay zu tin par tal, (Jason Derulo)

Thx for this video Guys. Since the Pandemic, I have been watching lots of food exploration videos on UA-cam so I could make a Bucket list of all the new foods I would try when everything opens up again. Thanks to you I will add Burmese food to my list. Hey by the way, were you guys the ones who did the San Francisco Food Truck video too?

You guys are so awesome! You have no idea how happy I am when I saw this video. There's another type of noodle called nankyeethote. It's kinda spicy but you should definitely try that too!
Indian influences made it pretty far - Goat curry is also a Jamaican thing :). Though, we put the action in front of the noun: we call it curry chicken or curry goat. Besides that, there's curry fish, which I have yet to try.
