The amount of disrespect on here is actually crazy, she is one of the most unique voices this year! This performance and last performance were so good! Love how the people that preach that there should be no hate are the ones the hate the most. People need to grow up and stop attacking people.

I'm actually shocked at the negative comments. Her voice is very current - pixie pop like Ellie Goulding, Zara Larson, Daya, Tove Lo - and this was a good song to showcase that. I thought this was stronger than several others in the Top 10.
She is definitely one of the better ones in my opinion! And she definitely doesn’t need or deserve these negative comments, she is to good for that!

Both can be true. Everyone at this point have a great voice. It’s just about who is better, and I believe Emmy is one of the weakest ones left. I don’t think she performs that well, she just holds the mic shaking, AND her vocals isn’t the top.
So yeah, it is surprising to me she is top 10. She is a very good singer and a great song writer. Shes very talented. But I also think shes more of a Top 12-14. Not Top 10.

“Pixie Pop” - never heard of that category. People are not being negative because they are mean, they are simply stating their feelings to why they believe Emmy should not have made it to the Top Ten. One’s voice is like an instrument that takes work and time to develop it. Emmy is older than several of the better singers who have been sent home. When she signed up for a National contest, she also agreed to be publicly evaluated- positively and negatively! To expect people to only cheer and not sneer is unrealistic! Its called “putting yourself out there.”

EMMIE has a great up to date voice. I live how she didn't take the easy route. Come on she has a free pass into the music world just bc of who her gma is. But she wants to earn her ticket herself and bc she is good and not bc of Loretta Lynn. She definitely has her own style and is very talented in writing music. I think there judges have the best Idols they have ever had this year. That staye is full of true talent! Emmie keep kicking but girl!!
STOP with the negativity. Emmy has a lovely voice combined with a soft, gentle soul. I know we each get invested in the singers we prefer and are sad when they leave. However, Emmy is extremely talented and has earned her spot in the music universe. She does not deserve the ugliness shown in some comments. 💝

I would rather listen to a full album of Emmy's than any of the others that have been eliminated so far, and even over most of those still remaining in the top 10. It's pure and soothing. It tells a story. Some of the others would grate on my nerves. She's listenable.

Very good performance
i was glad to see that Emmy was vote through! I don't actually understand her insecurities and lack of confidence, since no one lived with more abuse violence than I did but I remained fearless never allowed anyone to put me down? I was happy to see judge work hard to get her outside of her head and push her to fake confidence until eventually it will become real. Emmy's talent is real it just means she has to believe in herself too.
Excellent voice you can tell you have had years of training in this one, now just to move a little and dance with the music. You are growing Emmy keep up the good work!

What is most sad is that because the “Red Hat People” have made such a deliberate effort to prevent a person of color like Iam Tongi from winning again this season, Roman and Jayna didn’t make the Top 10, and won’t even be invited back to sing on the Finale.

I love Emmy but she allows the nerves get the best of her. I think one of two that were voted off should've been in her place. I can't see Emmy making it next week. I do love her but we're more than half way done with season, she has built confidence since day 1 but she's not ready for the big world yet. I do hope she gains more confidence in self though , becomes successful, make grandma even more proud for not giving up.
Well, seen Kai's nerves get to her many times to the point of messing up during her performance yet the fanbase attributed it to her being so into the song, disagree. I hear you though but she can do this, both can just gotta get there through grit and determination.

I believe she has a wonderful, amazingly unique voice. I don't know if she has the voice to win the competition but I do believe she won't make it in the industry. And not just because of her grandmother, but of her own hard work and dedication.

You can’t mess up at this level.
Emmy has a little girl’s voice (similar to Iris DeMent) and currently is limited in her vocal range. Mia Matthews is a better country singer because she can trill, warble, and lilt her notes 🎶 effortlessly! Mia is pure joy to listen to! The powerhouse singers on AI this season are Kiabrienne, Julia, and Abie! Kiabrienne stands out because she can belt as good as Julia and her low notes are better than McKenna’s raspy gravel. Kiabrienne also has a beautiful face and body, which makes her more “marketable.” Mia will go far in Nashville as will Tristan and Will. Jack is also a very talented singer/songwriter and will most likely be in the top 5.
Abi Carter is very talented but cannot go up and down her vocal register as effortlessly as Kiabrienne and Julia. Abie also is doing two things simultaneously- playing a piano and singing. To sing and play an instrument perfectly and for a LIVE audience is very difficult thing to do. Abie needs to concentrate solely on singing to our perform Kiabrienne, Julia, and Mia!

Im not a fan of country, i know the name Loretta Lynn but couldnt tell u one song she sings and i have 2 favorites and neither one is Emmy BUT to say she cant sing is a lazy mans argument because she definitely can and actual vocal coaches and established vocalists agree. So just say that you like others better than her or just be honest and say what the reason is... but dont say because "she sucks," because thats just not "facts." Its all about the audience and whos voting and how often.

Emmy is absolutely lovely. But Jayna’s voice is incredible. And Roman, along with Julia and Abi, have the most phenomenal voices this entire season. What’s sad to me is that because Roman and Jayna didn’t make the Top 10, they will not be invited back to the Finale.

Last Night’s performance started at 5 pm Pacific time and voting ended at 6:45 pm. Right during rush hour for alot of people! Emmy’s family and friends had more time to vote because they are on Eastern time. The entire states of Kentucky and WVA vote for Emmy as does many country music fans, out of homage to her Meemaw - the late Loretta Lynn. Coming from a legacy family (Emmy’s great Aunt is Crystal) has given Emmy an advantage (privilege) that most contestants don’t have!!!!

If Emmy beats Abi, Kaibrienna, Jack, Mia, or McKenna, then you know the contest is rigged! Pay attention to last night’s winners! The BEST ones were announced first, not seventh, like Emmy! Abi (the Idol to receive a Platinum rating during her audition) was named first during the Top Ten announcement! That should tell you something! Mia is a much better Country Singer than Emmy! A good singer does three things well: They have perfect pitch (Emmy does not), they have excellent phrasing (can hold notes and sing perfectly with the tempo) and their enunciation (clarity of words) is clearly understandable! Unfortunately, Emmy is very weak in all three areas! She is sweet and very likable, but unless she drastically improves, she will not achieve the success of her MeeMaw!

So in a way she set herself up for failure to start because she'll never be her memaw, nor sound like her, nor achieve her success. She used Loretta to get her foot in the door. She doesn't need to belt a song to be really good. She might not be comfortable with that as she is not a belter. Not everyone is. Bob Dylan, Loretta Lynn, Joni Mitchell all have soft tones that has no belting.

Most of the contestants were recruited. American Idol scouts the social media accounts of everyone who can sing well. Many of the contestants over the last 4 seasons have plenty of experience. There have even been a few American Idol contestants who nearly won “The Voice” just a few seasons ago.

She's doing great, there's lots of pressure on this big of a show when you have all these people giving you advice that you don't want to insult, and you want to be thankful. At the same time, she essentially has to avoid her Grandma's music like the plague so people won't think she's trying to copy her or anything. It's not as easy as it looks, she's doing a great job dealing with it all.
The resemblence, facially when she smiles to Loretta is unbelievable. She looks like her twin, it's amazing to see.
