Yes! I loved Grog a lot, but it felt like Travis was cut out from a lot of the games features because of Grog’s intelligence. He feels a lot more free on Fjord.
@@trealosgaming3345 To be fair, that's mostly because the other players aren't particularly strong leaders. Which is partly due to their characters and partly because that's just not their type of play. He's basically the only one willing to take that mantle here.

When we have players like that, we tell them to not metagame or we ask them to leave the room so neither they, nor their character, can hear the info they weren't supposed to know.

Watching this for the first time and when he dropped that I was in bed with headphones on listening to it on my phone and burst into laughter. So far he's really made an anti Scanlan this campaign, low performance, trinket loving... This man is a menace at the table and I love it.

I have to say, I love how they characterize each others' characters, even if they don't know them very well. It feels so authentic! For example, Molly's use of the line, "Yasha... Yasha-ed." to indicate this is something within Yasha's character and therefore unsurprising. Same thing with Beau saying, "I don't think I've seen you eat anything but sweets" to Jester. They just build off each other so well! It's amazing.

Sigh. Why am I not surprised the player who steals from party members when playing a cleric will choose Trickery Domain of a trickster deity. At least so far she has been supportive of party members and only bothered NPCs not crucial to the plot, i.e. not disruptive. Not my cup of tea but tolerable.

@@scremmy_draws That's a possibility, but Fjord seems to be a hard to get type of guy. It probably won't be until much later in the campaign like episode 130-175. Either way I find two characters portrayed by an actual husband and wife having a romance in show/game to be sweet. It feels more organic that way.

Thank the Critical Role Transcripts project! They've been working for years writing up full transcripts of all the CR episodes which also get uploaded as captions. The full text transcripts also have descriptions of the emotions and mannerisms of the actors as they deliver the lines and Matt's descriptions of scenery basically written out like a script. It's super impressive.

He’s the tired dad, Jester is the over excitable, gullible kid. Beau is the overly deep teenager who tries to occasionally corrupt the child. Nott is the insane like middle schooler who is always causing the dad heart attacks. Molly is the sarcastic twenty year old son, who still hasn’t left home for college. Fjord is the sensible mother who really tries to keep everyone out of jail
OMG Marisha here reminded me of when I was DMing many years ago, and the players would try to do things that would certainly get them killed. I couldn't have made it clearer that they were bound with weapons at their throats and they would try to attack their captors etc. It made me have to think as fast as I possibly could to come up with ways that they wouldn't just stupidly die.
I agree, he has been one of my favourites last campaign and to see him playing such a smart character is such a joy! It's especially great for me to see him play a warlock, I'm very curious to hear his backstory.

I love the tonal shift between the first campaign and this one, in Vox Machina they are semi-well established members of society from the begining. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the subtitles, i have ADHD and I find it really hard to focus on things like this for long periods of time meaning I can't listen to the podcast. Reading the subtitles help me out a lot because it gives me something to focus on meaning I can watch the show properly. Thank you.

I have to say, I love how they characterize each others' characters, even if they don't know them very well. It feels so authentic! For example, Molly's use of the line, "Yasha... Yasha-ed." to indicate this is something within Yasha's character and therefore unsurprising. Same thing with Beau saying, "I don't think I've seen you eat anything but sweets" to Jester. They just build off each other so well! It's amazing.

@@scremmy_draws That's a possibility, but Fjord seems to be a hard to get type of guy. It probably won't be until much later in the campaign like episode 130-175. Either way I find two characters portrayed by an actual husband and wife having a romance in show/game to be sweet. It feels more organic that way.

Thank the Critical Role Transcripts project! They've been working for years writing up full transcripts of all the CR episodes which also get uploaded as captions. The full text transcripts also have descriptions of the emotions and mannerisms of the actors as they deliver the lines and Matt's descriptions of scenery basically written out like a script. It's super impressive.

OMG Marisha here reminded me of when I was DMing many years ago, and the players would try to do things that would certainly get them killed. I couldn't have made it clearer that they were bound with weapons at their throats and they would try to attack their captors etc. It made me have to think as fast as I possibly could to come up with ways that they wouldn't just stupidly die.

I love the tonal shift between the first campaign and this one, in Vox Machina they are semi-well established members of society from the begining. And in this one, they are a group of strangers and nobodies filled to the brim with chaotic energy; whose low level makes them absolutley shit at everything. I love it!
Laura has always been one of my favs but she has truely been a treasure so far in this campaign. The comedic chemistry with Sam is off the charts.
