FIVE-MINUTE MAKEUP: GLOWY SKIN/RED LIP (NO FOUNDATION) | Hannah Louise Poston | MY NO-BUY YEAR

- Опубліковано 16 вер 2024
- This is the fast, easy makeup look that I've been wearing for the past few weeks. This is a skin-positive natural look with very little base product. I use color corrector & spot concealing instead of foundation to even out my skin, plus a super highlighted face and a bright lip for a bit of style.

Beautiful!!! I enjoyed seeing how you applied your products and how it looks it nice and natural but still elevated and put together. :)
thanks, Rachel! xo!
A quick fresh summer look is always a nice thing! Your skin looks beautiful against the bold red lip!
Thanks, Lisa! xo!
You look gorgeous girl! and that bold (but wearable) red lip is motivating me to wear fun lips even without a full glam face on!
Thanks! I REALLY recommend wearing a bold lip with minimal makeup. To me it's one of the most chic choices one can make :) I think you will love it!
Love the makeup idea of natural, glowy skin and red lips! I've never tried doing it that way. For me the first thought of red lip companion is matt skin, but it sometimes looks like you tried too much. Your way seems more effortless and French 😃
I recommend trying it! I think red lips don't have to be formal.
Omg I have a skin toned mole on the side of my cheek also, it was dark when I was younger but it has lost all of its pigment and now just looks like a very well concealed pimple. It has somehow never occurred to me to darken it (even though I love and recommend itslikelymakeup's faux freckle tutotial), I will have to try it.
I only started doing it this year and I love the look!
I love this look! And I really appreciate the thoroughness of your discriptions and explanations...thank you XO
This is a great, fresh, summer look. Thanks for making these "less is more" tutorials. I've had enough of people with camera filters, a few feet away, put on 6 layers of makeup in their look tutorial - no way you don't look cakey in person, folks. Also, even meticulously applied ....when is anyone wearing that out? You know, besides maybe the red carpet?
I agree about cakey in person! Or at the very least, makeup like that can be seen so clearly on the skin. It looks like a mask. It's fun for occasions, but I like the bare skin look!
I do my base bizarrely similar to yours, down to the exact smashbox primer, a green color corrector, and shape tape. I can't handle a full base in the summertime. Managed to put on makeup today after weeks of absolutely zero makeup, I felt so much more like myself. All my products felt new again!
Uncanny! & so glad you are starting to re-emerge in the new place :)
I've been trying to get myself to do this kind of look recently, mainly as a way to save time but also because I think it's one of the most flattering looks on me. But every morning I feel so excited about shimmery eyeshadow that I end up doing a full eye look! Maybe tomorrow I'll finally do this look -- your video was inspiring!
(BTW -- my three month no buy ends tomorrow! But I've decided to extend it, for makeup and skincare only [and with an exception that I can buy an old favourite powder foundation, because I'm sick of the liquids struggle when I fly] through the rest of the year!)
CONGRATS on your successful no buy! And on your extension! So exciting. I actually wish I would do full eye looks more often in the morning. I frequently end up doing this simple look because I don't feel like I have the time or the gumption to do an eye look. So to me, if it's one of those mornings where I'm excited about the eyeshadow, I do my eyes for sure!
Girl, you are gorgeous! :) I broke all the makeup rules today. I did my eyes and lips and nothing else.
yasss make your own rules!!!
Glad you did this video, as I really liked your makeup in the last video. I having been doing the same makeup look for a while now, and on casual days it's too heavy of a look.
thanks! yes, I run into that from time to time. Something feels right for a long time and then suddenly it just feel like too much. Luckily I relish change :)
Ok so I am a new subscriber who came to your channel after Elle S. Mentioned you and I am obsessed! Your videos are so unique and interesting and your skin!!! So stunning.
thank you so much! xo!
Loved this! 💜
thanks!
I really like the way my skin looks without foundation I usually just do the same thing with concealer and apply my other products it just looks alot fresher instead of cakey.
yes! I think bare, fresh skin is so nice, and then whatever statement you enjoy (eye, lip) whenever you feel like it!
Gorgeous!!
Thanks!
God your skin looks gorgeous 😭 gonna try that mascara technique too!
Hah I was like "should I keep in all of this footage of myself applying mascara? Eh? Why not."
Hannah Louise Poston hahaha good choice! Love it
You have such a soothing voice.
Love this look! I always love red lips for a cool chic look but i always end up putting on too much makeup before i reach for the red lip 😂 my bare skin is pretty similar to yours, redness in the centre of the skin so i feel like i have to pack foundation on there and sheer out on the sides. Sadly my redness is a bit too low for me to go blush free 😥
"I want them to behave like hedgehogs" roflmaooooooooooooooo
This is probably a conspiracy theory, but I've always suspected that concealers are the same formulas as foundations, just sold in smaller bottles for more money. I do all my concealing with foundation at this point, Kevyn Aucoin SSE for opaque spot coverage and MAC F&B for something light that will set and not crease for undereyes.
Elizabeth haha I agree. Companies make up so many different stuff to trick us to spend our money.
I mean, given that there are so many different textures and finishes, this must be true? Like, some foundations are much thicker than some concealers, and some are much thinner. I think it makes sense to use them interchangeably :)
💜💜💜
Tell me your secret for that bright undereye with no dark circles before concealer 😍
Chiara Masia it may be the eye patches she used in the previous video (daytime skincare routine)
Sadly, I think it's mostly genetics...I don't have darkness under my eyes, but they get hella puffy 🐡
I agree with Christine, I think genetics have a part to play in that one. HOWEVER, I do get pretty bad darkness under my eyes if I get inadequate sleep or if I get dehydrated, or even if I start to stray from my usual clean eating habits (also, those things contribute to each other. When I eat more sugar and drink more alcohol, or if I eat grains and upset my gut, then my sleep suffers and my eyes show it!) Basically, even if you have genetic dark circles, I think you can mitigate them by being a tyrant about sleep like I am, and by hydrating. For puffiness, self facial massage and physical activity help a lot.
I went to an aesthetician hoping he would do a chemical peel or derma-planing on me. I told him I get acne if I wear a lot of face makeup continually. He asked me why I do wear a lot of base makeup and I told him it was because I don't like my skin. He was like, you have great skin! I feel like I have a hang up about my skin. I probably shouldn't sit a 10inches from the mirror and analyze every pore, but I do. Did you ever have that sort of relationship with your skin, where you were hypercritical of it? How did you move past that if you did?
What helps me is to think about how I see other people. When I speak with my friends, or even strangers, I don't stare at their skin. But if I do look at their skin, a natural, "uneven" tone doesn't look bad at all. Imperfections are always part of other people's beauty to me. However, if I speak with a friend who has on a full face of foundation, I can clearly see the makeup on top of the skin. So I've learned to focus my energies on just making tiny changes to boost the overall impression of my skin, but without trying to make it perfect.
