I have a question that comes to mind
We assume that we have 5 records, all of them with the same domain name, and each record has a different IP
Why when requesting query
The Name Serverin Response brings me all five records, not one or two
Is this constant in dns consept( i mean all dns softwares works in this way or not)?
Or there something that can control this? I mean two records only go not the five
hi salama! This is kishor from India could you tell me Please what is in the timeline after 8.09. There is some content has been edited, I could not able to follow up
does anyone know to update bind? please
i am not able to enable this bind9 service, error "Failed to enable unit: Refusing to operate on alias name or linked unit file: bind9.service
"
Not sure why but let me try to mimic this error. Did you install the required utilities as per the instructions just double check that
@@nafithsalama systemctl enable bind9
Failed to enable unit: Refusing to operate on alias name or linked unit file: bind9.service
root@dns:/etc/bind# systemctl enable named
Synchronizing state of named.service with SysV service script with /lib/systemd/systemd-sysv-install.
Executing: /lib/systemd/systemd-sysv-install enable named
root@dns:/etc/bind#
Then i enabled named and i tested reboot server and i got status running bind service
New issue now, reverse nslookup not working forwarding working fine - nslookup 10.10.7.182
** server can't find 182.7.10.10.in-addr.arpa: NXDOMAIN
I did the example on VirtualBox and Ubuntu 22.04 with bridged adapter. It all worked. In the browser on the virutal machine I can use the domain name to visit /var/html/index.html. But on my real computer that VirtualBox runs on the domain name didn't work. But the IP address will work in the browser on my real computer.
I never tried that way. Let me mimic your environment and see how it goes
@@nafithsalama Okay, sounds good.
@@nafithsalama Any more informations about this situation ?
Let me check doe you
i added ip address and domain to the hosts (macos: /etc/hosts) file and works with same configuration. (virtualbox, ubuntu server 22.04)

Hi can I install apache2 server and DNS server in the same Ubuntu machine?
Yes you can of course. Best practice is to have them on different servers
@@nafithsalama why exactly? i never understood this.
i love you from korea.
Nice but stupid.
Why do you force yourself to write in the terminal everywhere when you can install DNS from the GUI and do everything there?
There's a graphical interface for a reason...

I will produce another video very soon covering this aspect
@@nafithsalama Can you please drop a link to the video or specify what it is called?
