- After days (and days and days) of ripping out rotten wood and cutting back rusted floors in our vintage RV, we finally patched up our doorway and it’s looking better than ever! Our patchwork may not be the sexiest you’ve seen, but we did our best and are so happy with the result. 😍🚪 Now we can actually walk into our RV without falling through a rusted out hole 🤣

If no-one has suggested it, install mudflaps behind every tire. That will deflect a lot of water away from the wood. They are cheap too.

It's very satisfying watching Eric and Allison conquering each new obstacle. This is a good example to viewers how time consuming it is to do a project right. I'm impressed.

I've been watching your channel for over a year now and I have to say hands down you are my favorite travel vlog couple. You too work well together, your videos are wery high quality and I love how you also include 'bloopers' and blooper jokes. Also, really important, I like when you also admit when things don't go well or you are frustrated, disappointed, etc. By the way, when travel opens us, I am looking forward to seeing your Africa trips, especially Kenya, if you can fit that in.

For your flooring check out vinyl plank flooring. It is waterproof, mold proof. Wears great and easy cleanup.

A lot of travel UA-camrs have been forced to make changes to their channel in light of current events. None have done it better than you two! So creative! Well done! Thank you and please keep it up. We need this now...
I use Expanding foam with no soap steel wool pads in areas rodents try to get in. They can't chew the steel wool.
Keep making that suggestion till they see and acknowledge it! That is a tip they will use as long as the own or drive an RV or travel trailer!

I've watched a few RV/Van renovation series (why, you ask? To reinforce that I would never want to do that...ever!) but I have to say that I have enjoyed y'alls the most. It's fun, funny, and actually quite ingenious. Some of your workarounds and solutions are very creative! I really can't wait to see how the RV turns out...or see if you drive it to a field somewhere and burn it down to the wheels! Seriously, you guys are the best.
I never tire of that intro. Next year when I am a millionaire I shall fund the TV show. We shall call it "That 70's Adventure".

Love watching the trailer renovation videos. Not sure how you both stay so upbeat and positive. Lol. It took us 4 years to reno an 87 Prowler 5th wheel into an Airbnb and we ran into problems very similar to the ones you're facing.....I can't count the times we contemplated lighting it on fire. Hang in there! It's worth it!

I absolutely love your intro and it's many variations, it's very fitting to the theme. Keep up the good work, it's a long process but totally worth the end results. Watching your video has helped me see the positive side to fixing my 1960 Aristocrat.
Fun project! Wear white instead of black to stay cooler. Black absorbs heat and white reflects it. Hope this helps.

It seems like Everyday is the "HOTTEST DAY EVER" with these two, even when traveling their complaints about the heat are as prevalent as their dissection of the food!!!
I wish mine would have been that easy fix I'm taking the whole camper off the frame and sandblasting the frame and putting another unit from a donor RV back on fun fun fun 😂

FYI - Guys you need to tread the ends of the pressure-treated wood if you cut it. Using subfloor adhesive helps bond wood members together and prevent squeaks. I like using Advantech subfloor adhesive. Love the Intro. Best

Way to go. By the end of the renovations you'll be professionals in RV restoration.
One good thing that'll help that from happening again would be to get some flex seal spray to spray the underside of the wheel wells and underneath the RV to protect the undercarriage.

Go with luxury vinyl planks for flooring instead eyucaliptyc laminate
Tropical cool paint on the roof will help bring the surface temperature down. I used it on my RV trailer and it brought the surface temperature down almost 20 degrees and it also water seals the roof.

Might I suggest you check out vinyl plank flooring? Camping might do a number on any "wood" flooring. Look for woodlook if you like that and make sure it is waterproof-good luck!

If I may suggest but you guys may have thought of It already is since you have completed the door way and piece of flooring it may be a good idea to get some undercoating sprayed in that wheelwellto help seal it as well. You guys are definitely doing some awesome work and I love and enjoy watching and following you on this renovation build out.

Lots improvements and fix structural damage---all hidden damage usually won't see tell dig in to it but no surprise for such older camper

My father in law gave me a good tip when fitting timber which could get wet. Always grease the screws in case you ever need to take them out again :)
I am working on a similar project. I sure hope your project gets completed, I don't want to see you fail. I have some rainy cold weather here with the whole back end of my 1977 American Clipper removed working to get to good wood. Hoping for a happy ending for us all.
