My husband passed away exactly 1 year ago tomorrow, December 5th, from pancreatic cancer. I'm the survivor of Domestic Violence (my daughter's so-called father tried to kill me while I was pregnant), and there was a time I was so scared to let my guard down that I failed to get close to anyone and my now husband (we were best friends in school but no fault of anyone lost contact after graduating) found me again on Facebook. He asked me questions that only I would know. We picked up where we left off, him showing me how to love again, even loving my daughter as if she were his. not the same rocker type gretchen, but when she sings these type songs, she has a way of pulling your heart strings and make your mind wander. sometimes that's dangerous because sometimes you don't even want to think.
I may sing this to my current bf oneday. This is our second time together. The first being 7yrs ago. Both times, it's been unexpected. It just happen. I wasn't looking and next thing I know, we're together. I fell so hard for him the first time, but it just wasn't the right timing I guess. We had things we still needed to learn. It was the second marriage for both, after divorce and young widowhood, and they were each other's last love for 56 years until their deaths four months apart in 2006.
