IT REALLY DOES NOT! Because that’s not even the point of the game. It’s ALL ABOUT THE SHIPS NOT THE ACT OF PIRACY ITSELF. Plus you can’t even do that bs in black flag 🏴☠️ so I don’t know why are people still expecting that from this game. Eventually that’ll get tiresome and plus there’s no way to balance that in a server full of almost 40 players all pirating in real time. It’s an online multiplayer experience NOT a coop. If it was then that design would be possible but you can’t do that within the technical limitations of the games design it’s just impossible. It wouldn’t even be feasible for playability
So what? They showed that they care about their games a lot. Look at the Breakpoint now, it is probably the best open-world shooter. And Odyssey was a fking masterpiece. I love their naval combat games since Silent Hunter 1 :)
Having done the last beta it was enjoyable for about 4 of the six hours. After that it starts to drag as the game sends you out on longer and longer runs and you find less fast travels as you go. It's a problem a lot of sailing games get into and I feel it didn't miss that pit fall. You end up getting a lot of sea time with not much out there, or worse you get a death donut. Where the game tells you sink ships for x loot and 10 ships spawn with the loot and just chase each other in a circle. As they are all the same faction you get lit up by all ten when you shoot one.
The funny thing is, the game tells you what you have to do for the next ship but you do not have to chase the given coordinates, you can easily get the same materials while freely roaming, raiding and pillaging elsewhere, or just simply sailing and get random floating loots. And it is a great bonus. And it is not supposed to be as ingleplayer experience either. More fun in the fleet with PVP questing.@@thrashjf83
Almost everyone has already unlocked the largest ship possible. Now I'm wondering what I'll do when I unlock the last few ships. What motivation I still have left. and then these limited time events, well. I thought that at some point we might have big ships, but there was no sign of it. There are really nice ships that unfortunately you can't build. It's a real shame I'm just not missing the last three.
The beta DOES NOT INCLUDE ALL THE SHIPS. So NO YOU HAVE NOT EVEN SCRATCHED THE SURFACE. Do you honestly believe that the would end the progression at just 4 ships???? You will be able to get a full galleon and battleships the beta doesn’t even include all the other ships in the large category just medium. Plus there’s still several more levels before kingpin and other areas that you can’t even explore until launch. Have patience that’s today’s gamers biggest problem yall will complain about nonsense and not take into account that this is only a PREVIEW AND A BETA NOT THE FINAL PRODUCT.
@@kusansimpson2514 I actually really like the game. In the interview you talk about small medium-sized and various other ships. Large ships are not mentioned. I really like it so far.
Ubisoft are the pros in ignoring fans and the template an earlier game has given them and releasing a huge pile of nothing and wasting millions of dollars.
The fastest rate of fire of such a cannon (20 pounders or so) was close to 1 shot a minute, usually even more time. You have to put out the residual burning blackpowder, remove it, put new blackpowder, ram it into the cannon, put ammunition, ram it too, clog a piece of cloth to prevent the ammunition to fall off the barrel, puncture the blackpowder sack inside the cannon or add more blackpowder as to ignite from the outside, pull the cannon into position, wait for the rest of the battery to end their own reloads, wait for the signal and then, only then, you can shoot again. It is arcade reload, or this.
think of world of warships except all the boats are made of wood. your character is essentially just your ship there's no plundering, swordplay, looting, or basically any pirate stuff other than how your ship looks austheticly l. it's boat to boat team deathmatch
They went full arcade with this game...BF has more realistic animations and no stupid numbers popping up....im sure you can turn that off, but idk still feels like a phone game
I wish they would just say this a pirate ship combat game and not pretend it’s a pirate sim/immersive rpg game Is the ship combat that good? Good! Lean into it! I just feel like this a lot of marketing for a very nice looking very fancy version of Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat for the ps2 (which is a great game to be fair, but it is kinda old now lol)
THEY DID BUT THESE IDIOTS IN THE COMMUNITY KEEP WHINING ABOUT IT NOT BEING AC4 even though THEY LITERALLY SAID ITS A NAVAL PIRATE SIMULATOR MEANING THE GAME IS ABOUT NAVAL COMBAT AND EXPLOITATION. NOT A PIRATE SIMULATOR. Reading comprehension is so important I swear. People are just mad about something that they don’t even understand what it is they are supposed to be mad about.
When I get off work I'm gonna ty the beta and play through till I can't, then I'll make my own decision on if I'm gonna actually buy it or not. After what I've seen on reddit and some UA-cam videos I am kinda turned off from it but like I said I'll give it a try
You’ll find it fun, the gameplays isn’t bad, although it’s highly repetitive. It’s not worth the price, but if you enjoy naval warfare games then you might find enjoyment in this, more so if you like the pirate theme dependent on your enjoyment of the naval gameplay type of games. Lots of boring or mediocre mechanics like forts, grinding resources, boarding or finding treasure too. But if you can push passed those issues then you may want to buy the game. Otherwise, steer clear of this game until it lowers in price.
For some reason all Ubisoft games bore me. Sometimes i feel like i push my self playing them, sometimes i quit playing them. The ideas are not where it has to be. And Ubisoft knows this good from how much people stops playing them. Ubisoft is getting repetitive and got stuck in making this kind of games.
We do get something like that. It's called a smuggler's den and you get it through an organization called the Helm. You have to be kingpin rank to access all the features though.
Played the beta on pc and will never buy this for £75, if there is a cheaper version at launch i'll consider it, you could buy Helldivers 2 twice for the price of this game, it's good, but no way its £75 good
Ubisoft needs to change not their games at this point. Stop ruining the games I love by releasing mid tier games. Shareholders please step in and talk to the tyrants.
Sir with all due respect but did you only play black flag and sea of thieves or anything else? because i didn't play anything else and i find it personally fitting for not being bound to a sinking enemy ship than actually necessary because its an online game where the main focus NAVAL COMBAT is. You know the reason why ships have cannons, to not jump on the enemys deck and fight with sword and pistol like a certain assassin did.
Is pvp forced or optional, imma progression kinda guy and take my time, can i just pass people that are stronger than me or can they ram me as they please?
Notice how on this video's gameplay they have purposely hidden the fact that when you initiate boarding you can't actually board the other ship and fight them hand to hand and when you come to the docks or an island you cannot seemlessly jump off your ship onto the dock or into the sea and swim to shore! Both of these things you could do in Black Flag and Rogue, why not here? This is a big mistake! In a proper pirate game you want to fight the enemy, you don't get a black screen just saying "Congrats you won the Boarding". I cannot see people being happy with this even if the ship combat is fine.
Once enough crew attack has built up, the enemies health will have a certain amount turn blue indicating how much damage a crew attack will do. It the blue part covers all of the remaining health, it will allow you to use boarding hooks, which you aim near mast and rigging, and if lands properly and don’t break from moving too far, you will sink the other ship instantly. It's basically like a finishing move, if this were a Mortal Kombat game..

this game should have been a free to play game with how many stuff to upgrade and currencies are...its almost like a mobile game
If it gone free to play, it would just be a standard live service game.
@@marquintabell5307 yea yea....like fortnite/apex legends/whatever. when i pay a game FULL PRICE i expect to not be a grind fest....like this game. if a game is by default free to play then i expect it to make me wanna grind stuff

Game needs land combat, pillaging mechanics on towns and fortresses where you actually get your crew out onto the land and loot the place, boarding mechanics like black flag too; this should make the game more immersive rather than playing minigames to loot or gather resources like the shitshow that was shown to us a few months back
IT REALLY DOES NOT!
Why don't people understand this? Nearly every complaint is about something that is not possible in a live service game.@@kusansimpson2514
Ubisoft should look at Assassin’s Creed Black flag for notes on making a pirate game
PSA: This is not a comparable game to the stealthy pirate RPG, AC: Black Flag.
Anyone else noticed in the bigger ships have gun ports that aren’t being used.
All the ships do, even your first or second ship has 2 lower deck ports per side that are not used.
I’ll just play black flag
Will sword combat every be introduced?
I miss Rainbow Six Vegas . .
I've been hyped about this since Black Flag, the game looks absolutely beautiful; but it's Ubisoft, so...
Black flag was also from Ubisoft.
There is no sword combat is it a ship simulator😢
you cant even board the ship yourself? wack
shame to ubisoft
"For fans"
More like, for doubloons
AC: black flag was better. No politics, no monster bs, no red glowing barrels and fantasy weapons. WTF you didn't even add pvp.
Ubisoft are the pros in ignoring fans and the template an earlier game has given them and releasing a huge pile of nothing and wasting millions of dollars.
Pirates? Hell yea I’ll give it a go! 🏴☠️
First time to see a cannons fire so quickly then modern gun
Yeah, if it were realistic, people would complain about that too. @@ricardodemarco3486
Is this game good? I like sea of thieves and thought about getting this
Open Beta from coming up from the 8th to 11th. Give it a try. Nothing to lose, its free.
@@insurrection8744 yeah you're right thanks for letting me know

think of world of warships except all the boats are made of wood. your character is essentially just your ship there's no plundering, swordplay, looting, or basically any pirate stuff other than how your ship looks austheticly l. it's boat to boat team deathmatch
There is picking up loot from sunken or boarded ships, that's a core part of the game. And PvP is optional.@@mercthejerk8945
They went full arcade with this game...BF has more realistic animations and no stupid numbers popping up....im sure you can turn that off, but idk still feels like a phone game
Under Jolly Roger by Running Wild is good entry to this game for the old people😃
Pirate is more than just boats
If anything, I will love my character more than the ships
I wish they would just say this a pirate ship combat game and not pretend it’s a pirate sim/immersive rpg game
Is the ship combat that good?
Just played the beta for a few hours.... they should've kept working or scrapped this game. Decade in development, guess that wasn't enough!
It's a fun game, but there are way too many and too long loading screens
The man o war needs to be in the game
This just impressive graphics..in term of game mechanics Black Flag still ruled.
Ah yes, _Assassin's Creed Black Flag-_
Do we get to own and keep this game if we purchase it, Ubisoft? You know? Like The Crew?
That's how buying a game normally works. One day the servers will be turned off though.

Id rather not play a game where I roleplay a ship instead of a pirate
cool
For some reason all Ubisoft games bore me. Sometimes i feel like i push my self playing them, sometimes i quit playing them. The ideas are not where it has to be. And Ubisoft knows this good from how much people stops playing them. Ubisoft is getting repetitive and got stuck in making this kind of games.
do we get our own hideout. I really felt this was kinda missing as we know in AC Black Flag we had our own hideout ?
We do get something like that. It's called a smuggler's den and you get it through an organization called the Helm. You have to be kingpin rank to access all the features though.
can we actually fight a KRAKEN as in a boss fight or something? cause that would be epic Lol 😋
could you please add a black flag like 3rd person camera angle instead of first person
Played the beta on pc and will never buy this for £75, if there is a cheaper version at launch i'll consider it, you could buy Helldivers 2 twice for the price of this game, it's good, but no way its £75 good
Splinter cell?

Ubisoft needs to change not their games at this point. Stop ruining the games I love by releasing mid tier games. Shareholders please step in and talk to the tyrants.

The only thing that i hate is thr game is expensive as fk make 55bucks 70wtf
What kind of pirate game doesn't have sword gameplay
Sir with all due respect but did you only play black flag and sea of thieves or anything else? because i didn't play anything else and i find it personally fitting for not being bound to a sinking enemy ship than actually necessary because its an online game where the main focus NAVAL COMBAT is. You know the reason why ships have cannons, to not jump on the enemys deck and fight with sword and pistol like a certain assassin did.

Boarding enemy ship?
This game reminds me of pirates of the Caribbean online only pirates of the Caribbean online is way better.
Hidden? It's been well known the past beta sessions
