Legend is a word that is over-used these days - but here is one televisual legend paying tribute to a cinematic one. And making him and all of us laugh so hard while doing it. The ultimate gift to the one-man smile factory that is Mel Brooks!!
Mel Brooks and Larry David. Two of the funniest people ever. Put them and Carl Reiner in a room together and I would love to just sit in the corner and hear them talk.
The clip of Brooks with his real-life wife Anne Bancroft was from a 2004 episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm". Sadly, Bancroft died the following year, so seeing her in that clip was a bit of a shock for me and starts the clip off with a bittersweet feel... until Larry got into his speech. I forgot the sadness for a moment, and cracked up along with Mel... Isn't that what great comedy is all about?
Not many people know this, but Mel is the patron saint of the Israeli Air Force. Most of the pilots have this little medal on their dashboards. Oops, instrument panels.
I have it in this not so good quality. If you want it, I can upload it to mega and share the link here. But I'm sure there must be some higher quality torrent out there. Anyway, let me know.
The weird thing for me is that Larry was on "Fridays" with Michael Richards and others and I never thought he was funny. He seemed like the least funny cast member of that show. And the rest is history....
I sent Mel Brooks a movie idea about 10 years ago and got a nice letter back saying that he couldn't take unsolicited ideas. I know that Jew peeked at my stuff.....lol.
Larry David is extremely funny. I've laughed my ass off at him. Mel Brooks is mildly amusing at best. Never once laughed out loud at anything he's done.
This is such GREAT comedic timing. The length of the pauses are perfect...!
That timing and pauses...hes like a ninja with words
…he killed them
So good lol😂
people like Mel brooks and Larry David are geniuses. Larry builds, along the way he has funny lines, then he hits, Mel brooks killed my parents.

The man who took "miserable bastard" to magnificent heights, lauding the man who started it all. An absolute treat.
“He killed my parents that little jew bastard” as a tribute. Genius.
Thank you so much for this. I have been looking for it, and never found it. It's indeed hilarious!
Great you appreciate it. I couldn't find it either until very recently. Cheers!
Love this speech. He would never do it but I would love for him to host the oscars
That would be great but now I thought “what if Mel Brooks hosted the oscars? Now I’d watch that show
I'd love it too but People are way too sensitive
Larry David is the best comedy writer ever, period!!
Mel.
@@leemdynamo Larry.
@@deanpd3402 Oh, you sweet summer child. Larry is genius, but Mel is in a world all his own.

Yeah that was kinda sad to see. Anne was an angel.
There aren't many comedians that make you just laugh out loud at what he says. Larry David is one of those guys.
One of my college apps asked for a list of things that brought me joy in life. First thing on the list was Mel Brooks.
fading out after a Gene Wilder moment... this was wonderful!
Masterful build-up.
"He killed my parents!"
genius Larry David -- what a speech
Anybody else thinking about thanking Mel brooks for giving Larry David his inspiration for George Castanza
He has invented a great comic persona: But don't confuse it with the man.
It's like a 20 yo walking in a body of a 60 yo man.
THE GREATEST!!!!!
It's too good, I love it. I am glad I discovered those geniuses years ago
❤❤❤
Nick Kroll next to Amy Polehr!
Genius paying tribute to the original Genius 👏

Nobody uses silence like Larry David.
Where can I get the whole thing?

Huge Mel Brooks fan! Not so, for Larry David.
The real shoemaker topically clean because fruit literally disappear aside a fabulous sandra. square, hapless aunt

It wasn't even funny 😐
Yes it was you silly
To someone with no sense of humor, it wouldn’t be funny.
@seattlewa8500 it wouldn't be funny to someone with a sense of humor either
I must say.... I didn't laugh!
LD is a funny fascist....
very unfunny guy. people know him only because of seinfeld.
Seinfeld was good because of HIM. I'm a huge Seinfeld fan and I know his DNA is more prevalent in the show than Jerry's.
Larry David is extremely funny. I've laughed my ass off at him. Mel Brooks is mildly amusing at best. Never once laughed out loud at anything he's done.
very funny ,I love Curb.
one of the only American comedies that makes me laugh.
You are so wrong it's perverse
You wouldn’t know funny if it jumped up and bit your ass
