A God given voice and that started in gospel. This was young Elvis and he never left his roots. No artist in the business stops in the middle of a rock concert and sings a gospel song, but he did. It was the path his mother wanted him on. She died in '58 just after he was drafted in the army. Thanks
You just heard a 22-year-old Elvis Presley singing his favorite genre of music. He remembered starting to sing gospel songs at two years of age. I enjoyed your reaction and hope you'll check out more of the gospel side of Elvis.
@@llschnitz three. Elvis was nominated 14 times. The fact that Elvis was only nominated three times also has to do with the fact that he was never interested in public awards. The Grammy jury knew that Elvis Presley did not accept the awards personally. I read that once. It is true that Elvis Presley has the most music awards in the world. But according to the Book of Records, he has never officially accepted a music award.
Could be true... HE wasn't one to brag. Just good human❤ and I take that over some that have compete Just say I'm better than you.. This MAN only wanted to do what he loved and share himself. ❤
DEEP. And no one has ever been able to make me feel the depths of this life like Elvis. His gospel music will touch your soul and transport you to a whole new realization and way of thinking. This man garnered mega awards and acclaim for his gospel renditions, and it is easy to see and feel why. Beautiful!
Elvis recorded over 700 songs and he did many gospel albums. Gospel music was his favourite and if you go through his catalog, you’ll understand why. He’s magical, one of a kind. When you hear that voice, you know that’s Elvis! 🙏🏼
Elvis always sang his beliefs with conviction, testifying to all who would listen. How fortunate are we to be able to hear him after all these years. As a fun fact, Elvis is my fourth cousin, twice removed. I knew we had Presley in the family but didn’t connect to Elvis until I submitted to 23&me (not an advertisement). Small world❤️. I thoroughly enjoy your reactions to different artists. 😊
Elvis Gospel is the only worship music I listen to. His voice is so calming and still so powerful. Goes right to my soul. 💕 At times it can make me weep and bring me to my knees. So beautiful!!! Your reaction was perfect!
The man could touch your heart. Us Elvis fans can tell you that you hear him sing song like this all the time. He had the voice to sing anything but these were his favorite ones. He can take you to church one minute and blow the ruff of the next. Love this man . TCB always.
Jane H commenting …. Elvis loved singing hymns & gospel, & his faith was deep. His most treasured item was his bible, & one of his step-brothers was appointed by Elvis to carry that bible to whichever concert he was doing, & set it down on the bedside table next to Elvis bed in his hotel room, so that it was there for Elvis to read after the concert, or when he awoke. He always sang with such emotion & passion, & once he said that he never sang any song that didn’t really mean something to him. I have arranged for this to be sung at my funeral when the time comes. I think Elvis was in his 20s when he recorded this. I saw emotions welling up inside of you. That happens to me when I listen to it, & as a believer, I love every word of this beautiful hymn.
Thomas A. Dorsey, a black preacher, composer and writer wrote this song when his wife and son died in child birth. He is also the author of "There will be Peace in the Valley" and "Say a little prayer for me", amongst others.
He is praying in this song with all his heart and soul. Gospel music lived in Elvis...it comforted him. I am always emotional when I hear this beautiful song. Tears every time. Thank you for playing it. Thank you Elvis for all you gave to us.❤
I would like to hear your reaction to another Elvis gospel song, " You'll Never Walk Alone". It's my favorite Elvis Gospel recording. Another song that showcases Elvis's beautiful voice is "Oh Danny Boy". I think you will love both of these songs!
This song is from 1957, and Elvis was only 22 years old here . 😍So he was Young ,the pictures in the video schould have shown that .His voice is amazing .
Beautiful, just beautiful. He was 22 yrs old. He brings tears and goosebumps Those words describe his tragic loss. But he went home to the Lord as he asked for. Love your reaction, so very genuine Thank you 🙏
Oh my… that did me in. That voice sounds so pleading, so tired. It’s like he bleeds when he sings. He’s certainly a singer with passion and soul. God bless. 😊😊🙏🏼🙏🏼🌹🌹
I'm not even all that religious anymore and that really got to me man. Your reaction made my allergies act up. I really like your thoughtful reactions.
Thank you for all your sensitive E1vis reactions! Like your way to react! Another gospel gem from E1vis is I BELIEVE from the same year 1957. E1vis was 22 years old then. What a voice at that age. Goosebumps everywhere. Would you please react to it?
You have a beautiful soul. Bless you for reacting, he could get to the heart, and I have always said, Elvis had a cry in his voice and it's in most of his song, he of course was haunted by the fact that his twin brother died and he lived. His mother often told him he had to live for them both. But he was a true believer right to the end and even though he was not a perfect man, I think he did make it to heaven. Another beautiful rendition of "He Touched Me' far less sad, and " Milky White way" is a pulsing gospel song that leaves you happy. thinks so much.❤
I think that you were affected deeply by the beautiful rendition of this song, just as we all are at every listening. Thank you for this wonderful reaction and for appreciation of Elvis.❤❤❤
Just like singing was Elvis pathway to acting, I think Elvis’ secular music was his pathway to evangelism. Elvis’ secular music brought millions of people to him and he took his ultimate calling of his faith to reach out to those millions through his gospel songs. In many ways, your genuine reaction to this beautiful gospel track is proof of what I say. I am a long time declared agnostic and yet, many times I find myself on the very edge of belief when I hear Elvis’ faithful conviction.
I can just tell by hearing his voice this is a very young Elvis... his voice got so much more powerful as he aged... but this man was born and raised in the church and loved gospel.. Even at this young age he just had IT.
The most amazing reaction cannot say much more than that. Elvis and gospel go together more than any other genre. Thanks for the feeling that you put into this ❤
Hey sweetheart, just wanted to say thank you for sharing your reaction to This Beautiful MAN Among Men Elvis was brought up in the Church and was an avid reader of all spiritual religions , he sang Gospel music from the pit of his soul , and like you said , you don't see see this anymore , that's because the world has changed in so many ways , and I am scared for the children to become , he won three Grammys for his Gospel music and I think he should have won so many more , he sang 5genres of music and he did it his way , I'm really enjoying your Elvis reactions, and again I love the accent, great job and. As always keep on TCB like my main man Elvis forever and Always TCB 1935
The song is from 1957 the pictures from around 1970. How he sings this song at the age of 22 is amazing! Not an 'every day' song though. Maybe "Are You Lonesome Tonight ( can't stop laughing version)" might cheer you up. This was another beautiful reaction, thank you!☀️✨🎄
Elvis's gospel recordings are sublime (and won him his only 3 grammy awards) and I'm not a religious person, so I don't listen to Christian music apart from this. His voice has always affected me the way you reacted, so heartfelt and soulful. The first music he heard at the age of two was in church and it was always what he turned to for relaxation. His vocal ability is such that he can literally sing anything and you feel it ❤

Very few of his 220 Gospel songs were on video. The Colonel wouldn’t have it. I told you the tone of his voice changes because Gospel gave him his love of music and his belief in the Lord. This is my favourite Gospel song he did. Thank you. I cannot paint unless Elvis is singing Gospel music because he believes what he is singing.
Elvis' earliest influence was Gospel & he returned to it time & again when singing with friends & in rehearsals. This is how he gets so much passion into his songs. Awesome. Try How Great Thou Art or Peace in the Valley...
If you like Elvis’s gospel songs you need to crying in the chapel it’s absolutely beautiful,, No one has ever had a voice like his in this generation and I don’t know if there will ever be someone on the same level as Elvis , I sometimes think he truly was a Gift from God ❤❤❤
That gave you pause for thought eh?! When Elvis sang Gospel, it was not only with his heart and soul, it was with total conviction and utmost belief. This is on his 1957 Album “ How Greta Tho Art” for which he was awarded a Grammy. He also got a Grammy for the song of that name, for “ The most Sacred Performance “!!! All at 22 years old and actually when he was reaching the heights of his fame for his “ Rock and Roll” His favourite song in that genre was “ You’ll never walk alone” so do listen to that too. A bit different to when the Liverpool football fans sing it!!! Thanks again for your sincere reaction. Lovely. 🙏👌💕🕺
This video popped up in my feed. I love Elvis and this song so i stopped to watch. I loved your reaction and appreciation for Elvis so i watched your Elvis Playlist ❤️ please react to HOW GREAT THOU ART live version. SO much power and will give you goosebumps!
Ray Charles remarked in the early 1970s "Elvis is the only Rocker who in the middle of his show would stop and take his audience to church, a wonderful thing!" (Hollywood Insider, Rona Barrett Hollywood). Just a few years later QUINCY would contaminate Ray's mind as he also did Michael and others on the subject of Elvis. A man who was caught in lies and showed his insecurities and jealousies. Then recently he was exposed by many in the music and entertainment fields that explained this pathetic person
Bless your heart, Indeed you should have been warned. Yes his range is off the chart! Your reaction was priceless.

Had this played at my wife's funeral service .....she fought cancer for a few yrs...but she got so tired...miss you baby..
The only Grammy award he won was for his Gospel album. Huge Elvis fan here
He won 3 and all for gospel music 🎵. He was a genius at his craft
I love your expressions on your face they mirror mine. Love Elvis so much. I'm positive you will love Danny Boy it's very emotional.
You just heard a 22-year-old Elvis Presley singing his favorite genre of music. He remembered starting to sing gospel songs at two years of age. I enjoyed your reaction and hope you'll check out more of the gospel side of Elvis.
Sounds very much like Roy Hamilton, his favorite singer.
Elvis only won two Grammy’s. Both for his Gospel albums.

I am sorry sir I just fell in love with you this is the most beautiful reaction ever thank you
No one hits your soul quite like Elvis doing gospel, immediately you're in the presence of the Lord.
He recorded this the same year As jailhouse Rock 1957. You wouldn’t think it’s the same person singing.
Elvis recorded over 700 songs and he did many gospel albums. Gospel music was his favourite and if you go through his catalog, you’ll understand why. He’s magical, one of a kind. When you hear that voice, you know that’s Elvis! 🙏🏼
Elvis gospel is like no others..this is my choice for my own funeral..Rip Elvis
Mine too!
Gospel was Elvis's first love. He was very spiritual.
You haven't heard Gospel til you've heard Elvis sing it!
Crying in the Chapel, Silent Night, you'll Never Walk alone Oh Come All Ye Faithful, How Great thou Art! All from Elvis
Great Reaction Greetings from Germany (Dortmund)
Elvis always sang his beliefs with conviction, testifying to all who would listen. How fortunate are we to be able to hear him after all these years. He won 3 Emmy’s for his gospel alone. Lisa Marie sung this with her father’s voice also in the song.
3 Grammy's For His Gospel. ❤
