In this video, I take you behind the scenes of what it was like buying the biggest travel purchase of my life - a Persian carpet in Iran! I actually bought 2 Iranian carpets - one for my house and one for my parents. Watch until the end and you can see my parents reaction when I surprise them with the carpet! Thank you to Pazrik Rug Gallery in Iran for the amazing hospitality.

Few people know how much work it takes to create a Persian Rug. Sometimes more than a year of 2 weavers. If an American did so much artistic work he/she would ask for $100,000+!
So so so true!
It took me 1.5 year in Afghanistan to create almost 9 meters carpet with my mom and sister.
@@mozartips They make more, like $200 or 5 million toman, but $2000 to $8000 goes to the shop/factory owner. Still they're happy with that because otherwise they had nothing.
So true, trust me it's too cheap for 1900 USD. By the way, maybe half part of the price is for raw materials such as silk.
yeah these are so nice. the immitation stuff at home depot, ikea, never compares. and your feet just sinks it. and the design is so mesmerizing.
The carpet you bought for $1900 in Iran is worth more than $6000 in Los Angeles. Persian carpets are investments, the older they get the more valuable they become.
Woooowwwwwww
He definitely don’t know what he bought! Why he’s complaining on the price!
@I Claudius of course not wtf, it’s iran, not china
@@CrackingTechHD They (Iranians) say Iran also don't have Gay men like China. Is that true?
@@mobidicks8659 tbh it's not worth to sell a "fake" carpet for them, it will cost a lot more once they lose their trust in bazaar.
I love the Art made by Iranians they are so creative.
Yep!
@@MoreTravelsWithDrewBinsky omg bro I'm a huge fan of you, I started watching you in 2018, btw I'm from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
thank you my brother from Saudi Arabia, hope some day our government make peace and even middle East union countries like Europe and we celebrate and share our culture and happiness
@@abdullahalharthi2429 I'm from Iran and love Saudi Arabia, hopefully all middle eastern countries become friends regardless of differences in religion, languages, cultures etc
@@nickzadeh7389 Thanks, I actually see that all Middle Eastern countries love each other if we don't care about politics, I love Iranians I used to have 3 Iranian friends in Virginia USA
Thanks for watching! I love you guys!
ما ازت ممنونیم ❤️
We love you too bro in these dark as we are headed towards becoming North Korea 2.0 there aren't many travellers in this world to keep cheering us up
Drew I can tell you as someone who's dad sold persian rugs here in the US, you received a great deal for some high quality rugs. Aside from them having practical use to cover your floors and decorate homes, you can think of these rugs as art pieces. I know you said this was a huge purchase for you but this was an excellent investment b/c I know in the US these would fetch at least 3X the price.
Whose*
Agree, for people like me and you who knows what goes in making one of these unique pieces of art.
I'm Persian and your purchase was a bargain. Persian carpets are way more expensive, anyways congrats man 🙌🏻
fr
look at Drew's video when he went to Isfahan to get carpet
There was one for $100000
@@hkar4385 there’s different quality rugs. Isfahans are higher density and knot count.
Lol paying 1900$ for a carpet 😆 if he wanted to waste that much money might as well give 1900$ to a homeless in the streets
Paying 1900$ for a carpet is as wtf as the people who buy 1900$ wine bottle 😂
@@mathewvanostin7118 Carpet is more valuable than wine and doesn't cause health problems
@@mathewvanostin7118 mad cause you can’t afford one hahah.
Im really gonna miss you
Thanks for visiting iran❤❤
Visit again , iran will never run out of amazing things...❤❤❤🇮🇷
Beautiful carpet of course persian carpets are the best in our planet
And I've been in iran few times
1- people are just so nice so much energy
2- food is amazing like very very delicious and every city they create their own foods which awsome
3- from north side the country with huge mountain with trees like Alaska to all the way down to the south with desert of Sahara .incredible
4 - they love tourism and they respect you so much
5 - I'll definitely go back again 🤩 Caspian sea to down to Persian Gulf
True. Iranians seem to be among the most friendly people in the world
@@ashes3800 never follow what the social media says about iran just get a trip go!!!
It's like they live in the different world like I myself been lots a lots of countries but Iran its definitely was the number 1 place that I did love it😍🇮🇷
Iran is filled with hatred and Corruption and they have corrupted Islam to their own corrupted version just go there and you will catch an espionage/Criminal case faster than lighting hit.
Why you don't share with us your trip experience in iran as a video ? Your channel is empty !

They make wonderful carpets, it is a form of art. I like mine in muted colours.
So incredible. Iran is magical. Thank you for shedding positive light on the illustrious culture of the nation.
Also -- I've always been baffled why some Iranians mispronounce "Iranian" or "Iran". For those wondering it's pronounced "E-Ron-Ean" and "E-Ron", respectively.

EXCELLENT STUNNING FOOTAGE !!!! Drew you are so incredible 💜
$1900 for a Persian rug is pretty cheap!! I bought one like that in Sydney for AUD 35,000
they hustled you bra
Good sir, what do you do for living?
@@rojvankoc7252 Nope. I am Persian and I know rugs quiet well. Adding the cost of shipping and customs the price of a good large Persian silk rug is about AUD 35k
Where in Sydney?
@@arefkr customs? Customs?! Wtf are they charging import duties on a f-ing rug! There is no value to tax. Tell them it costs $10.
Love your Afghan video drew 🥰❤️🇦🇫
I have watched sooo many videos on rugs this morning but this one was very helpful. I now know what a silk carpet looks like. Thank you.

They're not that cheap outside of Iran. He got an extremely undervalued price bc of sanctions. These will each go for >$10k+ (easily) outside of Iran.
