The last 727 was made about 40 years ago. This does not make any sense

Hey Kevin. that's correct, but some of them have been converted to business jets

After the airlines retire these jets, people buy them for cheap to convert it into a private jet.
But I never understood why one would consider sacrificing their safety for a larger size jet.

@@logic_bot3753 The FAA will not knowingly let a jet fly that is “not safe”. There are many many many freighters that are still flying jets from the 70’s and 80’s.
With regulations on “heavy checks” and updated avionics, the older airframes are actually more safe and redundant, due to the advancements in many aspects throughout time.
If you would like an illustration of what I’m referring too, check out some UA-cam videos on the Boeing KC-135 (an airliner conversion from the 70’s). They are still flying today, and will be past the 2050’s.

Great video, love it, but, educate or enlighten me, how to order one of these bbj, I guess I have to buy a used 727-200, then customize it for 100,000,000 million? Wow I will get one, I always love these sexy stunning 727 jets. Thanks for posting/sharing.

You can get this bird for $1.7m in fact. Ill give you the benefit of the doubt ill say 8 million all in airworthiness inspections a full service brakes tires hull maintenance fixing of cracks you can rent lower time engines the only thing you gotta worry about is how much gas this thing drinks landing fees and noise pollution but you can get Rolls-Royce tay engines to deal with that

Having flown on 727,s before they where fast and more comfortable than a 737. But, why would you buy a 35/40 year old aircraft with increased operating costs, inferior general performance than a Gulfstream 750 or Bombardier global both of whom offer far cheaper operating costs further range and a much higher cruising speed/height. Plus roughly $20 mil cheaper. Plus of course they are new with all the finest new mods to the cockpit.
Sorry but $100,000000 is far far too much

there are trijets & then there are trijets, the B727-200 is the latter . . . the B727-200 was a true workhorse back in the day, a proven airframe that was durable & dependable . . . it's a pity that Boeing stopped making the B727-200 by early 1990s . . . by the way I don't really approve of having a bedroom inside an aircraft, not something I'd want to have on my jet . . . it's a large cabin private jet for cryin out loud, so let's just leave it at that . . . the luxurious appointed cabin of the B727-200 BBJ in this video could really do with a serious make over . . .
