i have to clean lifts but the is no power outlet near so i use a battery leaf blower on the tracks and baby oil on the steel with a minute mop i do it this way because lifts get abuse
The silver plate you see at the bottom is called a gib track or door threshold. I feel it's best to go after the gib tracks with a vacuum cleaner than with a broom. Now for the doors, I use Stainless Steel Wipes that are made by Claire. The elevator in this video may be a service elevator. But what I do is to get the doors on the inside of the cab, I wipe the rear door, then run the elevator to the door the rear door serves so it will open, and then wipe the front door due to that it would be closed.
Depends what kind of stainless steel you are talking about. Water spot suggests limescale, in a sink i suggest using neat bleach, leave a few mins and rinse off. On a kettle try steel cleaner, wipe off with damp cloth, then steel polish & buff with dry clean cloth.

Do those wipes work on stubborn fingers prints and water marks or should we wash the surface with soap and water prior to polishing?
