Once a person is convicted of a crime that requires a custodial sentence in Hong Kong, he or she will be sent to one of the city’s 28 correctional facilities. Hong Kong prisons are divided into three security levels, but what is common among all of them is a strict set of rules and routines prisoners must follow during their time of incarceration. We talked to people who spent time inside Hong Kong’s prisons to get first-hand accounts of what life is like inside.

That was a weird video. It felt like I was watching an advert to book a holiday in prison! Unless you speak or view prisoners daily lives, you won't see the reality.

I thought so too, I'm thinking if a choice of sleep in the street or rented cages.. I rather go to prison. Looks pretty clean to me.. even the workspaces are bright & open.

People in prison just because they are protecting their rights. This is sad. What has Hong Kong become.
What happens once it becomes a *Chinese* prison instead of a _Hong Kong_ prison? It's only a matter of time.

What's sad about Hong Kong is that these prison cells often larger and cleaner than the criminals' own living spaces. Literally an increase in quality of life by going to jail.

@@notsocrates9529 in this case I’m serious. Jail cell is bigger than people’s bedrooms and sometimes even their entire apartment.
Some of these cells probably bigger than the homes they were in.
Heard that during British ruling the prison was segregated between VIP and normal sections and still practicing until today.

They were caught by Chinese marine police in mainland Chinese waters, and are currently in custody of mainland China, not Hong Kong.

Number of prisoners in Hong Kong: around 8 thousand, incarceration rate is around 106 per 100 thousands population.
Number of prisoners in USA: around around 2.1 million, incarceration rate is around 655 per 100 thousands population.
Even though ur probably right, u need to understand hong kong is a dot on the map compared to the size of the us
