  • A fight between Lisa Bechina and Natasha Cullen at The Ring's recent White Collar boxing show has come under scrutiny after Lisa cried foul over questionable judging. When the decision on the winner of the fight was announced, there were many surprised faces both inside and outside the ring.
Commentators who watched the bout called it a "shame" and a "joke". A former national boxer, Danial Jalil, labelled the decision a "robbery".
In the lead-up to the event, Lisa was contacted by a representative of the Ring to help sell tickets and tables for the event. In response to queries from Wake Up Singapore and The Monitor, The Ring said that it was "not qualified to officiate, judge, score or referee boxing matches.” The Singapore Boxing Federation did not respond to queries.

Witnessing Lisa Bechina's experience at the Ring White Collar Boxing event and the unfair and questionable judging is disheartening. It is clear from the video and the unanimous feedback from the audience and social media that Lisa was the real winner of the fight. The decision to award her opponent the victory was a grave mistake, and Lisa's frustration and disappointment are understandable.
The fact that a jury member allegedly informed Lisa's cornerman of the mistake is concerning and raises questions about the integrity of the judging process. Sporting events must adhere to ethical standards and uphold the principles of fairness and impartiality.
Furthermore, the organizers' request for fighters to sell tables or seats for the event is a questionable practice that could compromise the event's integrity. While the organizers claim it is an accepted business model, it can create a conflict of interest for the fighters and make them feel obligated to sell more tickets to ensure a favourable outcome.
It is disappointing to see the lack of response from the Singapore Boxing Federation regarding this incident. As the governing body for amateur boxing matches in Singapore, they have a responsibility to ensure and uphold fair and impartial judging and that the integrity of the sport is not compromised.
Lisa Bechina's experience highlights the importance of ethical and fair practices in sporting events and the need for governing bodies to uphold these practices. We must continue to advocate for integrity and fairness in all areas of sport and work towards creating a more equitable and just world.

What a total robbery. Ring should be ashamed. Just because she didn’t sell tables. Criminal

Really a bad decision unless the winner is determined by who raised the most money for charity instead of who landed the better punches.

Congratulations to both young ladies on a great fight. It takes courage to get into ring and both ladies gave their best, cannot blame them if the decision at the end was questionable. They were also excellently attired for the fight, proper boxing boots, boxing shorts, proper tops, not sweaty sticky vest for a change, and good headguards. It looks well and professional to be properly attired for the fight. I have seen ladies and men before at White Collar events boxing in track suit bottoms, long leggings, tops with long sleeves and trainers to mention a few, does not look the part. Well done again ladies. Keep up the boxing, it is a very tough individual sport, you always have to be in top condition for a fight. You are in the ring on your own and your opponent will show you no mercy. Best of luck.
