With a fuel consumption of 4.9 litres/100km - 58 mpg UK - 48 mpg US (Average), 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 12.4 seconds, a maximum top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h), a curb weight of 2588 lbs (1174 kgs), the Golf 4 TDI 90 has a turbocharged Inline 4 cylinder engine, Diesel motor, with the engine code ALH.
This engine produces a maximum power of 90 PS (89 bhp - 66 kW) at 3750 rpm and a maximum torque of 210 Nm (154 lb.ft) at 1900 rpm. The power is transmitted to the road by the front wheel drive (FWD) with a 5 speed Manual gearbox.
About chassis details responsible for road holding, handling behaviour and ride confort, the Golf 4 has Independent. McPherson. coil springs. anti-roll bar front suspension and - rear suspension. Stock tire sizes are 195 / 65 on 15 inch rims at the front, and 195 / 65 on 15 inch rims at the rear. For stopping power, the Golf 4 TDI 90 braking system includes Vented Discs at the front and Discs at the rear.

I had a Golf 5, 6 and recently 8 myself. My father had several Golf 4s back in the day. In my opinion the best Golf ever!

Yup. My first own car was Audi A3 with this engine and I'd say it's perfect. Enough power to drive and launch comfortably but nothing too crazy. Although you could smoke many different cars from rolling start

Ive recently bought 1.9 tdi golf ASZ (2004) 329k km.. runs so smooth and look good.. Its my first car and i think i couldnt have bought better.. but to be honest.. im still pretty scared to full throttle it.. it hides such power :D

@@Lipnoxy to be honest i dont drive that much, im on 334000km now and its been going great.. nothing has ever fucked up.. i just did classic service (changing of filters, changing oil, etc.). That car is incredible
My Aunt Have one, it's pretty nice it sounds very good for me but rust attacks it very much
If rust attacks it it had to be hit sometime. Golfs are all fully galvanized with thick layer so has no right to rust

my mom has a 2000 VW Bora, 2.0 N/A 115hp, it had a lot of rust at the front fenders and side skirts, (*she is the 5th or 6th owner) almost 274k, at the hood there are some small dots, another small dot at the back left fender; FWD, it runs great, but it has a problem with the oxygen sensors, they need to be changed; and today the back brake lines will be changed

Low fuel consumption with great stability, you will enjoy driving it slow or fast on short or long destinations.
I had such golf for about 2 years and all i can tell u it's very boring car. If u want to have fun and a exitment in my opinions this golf is not for u, but if u are just interested in having car for going from place to place then its fine;

@@distortion4222 Going to disagree with you on that one. Bought a used 2002 Golf Tdi with 329000K on the odo. Spend at bit of money on some upgrades with some help from a mechanic friend. All new suspension, Audi calipers on all four wheels with cross drilled rotors, urethane bushings and new Bilsteins. VNT17 turbo, uprgraded nozzles, Malone stage 4 tune, 6 spd manual and Sachs single mass flywheel clutch. Should be good for 150 horsepower and 285 lb.ft. Of torque. Most fun car I have ever owned and still averaging 5L of diesel per 100kms (thanks to the 6th gear of course). I can get to 200+ kph a lot quicker than some of the vids I have watched…and Continental Pure Contacts for tires. In stock form, it is good and economical, but the full potential lies in a few mods. I would opt for one without the sunroof as I notice wind noise after 120 or so.

Let me tell you something. I hated cars before i bought golf 4 1.9tdi, because other brand cars allways would break down at the worst possible moments...i know golf 4 is not a chick magnet, but now don't stress even with 430k on it....best car ever. I know my next car will also be something german with 1.9Tdi

I have 2002 golf mk4 1.9tdi with around 240k km and it runs perfectly only thing thats gone bad is button for drivers side window (need more force to open/close)

@@NapoleonDynamite69 ECU Boost the horse powers and the acceleration of the car and from stock (131hp) u got like 170 - 180 and the difference is crazy.. and this is the easyest way (no parts change or something) Just Boost with software.

If u go for a bigger turbo, bigger IC injectors, clutch and ECU u make 250 hp safe

@@theblackpriority8726 I have friends with TDI's with more than 300k km that have something in the lines of 250hp since 200k km the car holds up really fine and not much smoke, the clutches are less durable tho

hey una domanda, io ho una golf 4 1.9 TDI da 110 cavalli del '99. In autostrada non va più di 150km/h, l'ho portata più volte da diversi meccanici e dicono che non ha niente, la tua è lo stesso modello e riesce a tirare 200? E' modificata con chip?
