Thanks so much for the detailed reassembly, I am finished with the Air intake and exhaust and now onto the solo and passenger seat. I think your video will speed up my installation....Much appreciated!
Stay up Geo!.....Gil
Thank you for this I not long got my rocker c last month and wanted to change the seat for a lower one, this has helped a lot thank you 😊
Much nicer! I love the blue stitching. . .I never liked how the stock seat had that gap. This does the trick. I had a Softail Std. 05. Sold it in 2008. With wife, and 3 kids I had decided to stop riding for a while. I do miss it alot.
That cover of landslide by the pumpkins is my favorite cover of landslide!!!
Night and day better! Awesome video,,,thanks for the share!
Just an idea for you. Those bolts that had the torx head that were difficult
to remove mat be more easily removed if you can get a bit for the hand held impact driver.
An adapter will make that possible.
Geo-- it's possible that the bolts are cheap (read: soft) and that's why they tend to strip. A properly designed Torx head is actually pretty strong. More likely is that HD is using Loctite of some kind on those bolts because they May tend to vibrate loose.
Instead of Loctite, HD could have used something like a Nord Lock washer (search "wedge lock washer" on McMaster Carr)
Hi, nice video, did you find a cheaper seat option similar to danny's?
Cheaper-No, once I put this on there was no need to keep shopping any further...

Then go for a ride on your Harley!
The fender must hit the bottom of the seat on every bump? The heartland or danny gray conversion kits are the way to go if you don't lie the stock seat.
Not sure why so many folks have problems removing certain bolts off their Harleys. If those were factory bolts then they are not cheap! Harley uses Grade 8 bolts for all their strut and seat applications which are rock solid. I've never had an issue removing any Harley bolts with only hand tools and never needed to apply heat or use other such methods to help loosen them. I've torn down both my Crossbones and my brother's Rocker C to almost the frame and drivetrain and not once did I strip or break a bolt. You mentioned that the torx bit was a sloppy fit which sounds like the REAL problem! I have various torx bit sets and they are not all made the same. If you try a torx bit on a Harley bolt and it feels sloppy, try the same size bit from another maker. You will be surprised how much difference there is between manufacturers. Once you get one that fits snug like it should, all you need is a good 1/2 in breaker bar. Good video otherwise!
Have to say great detail to detail instructions.
La seduta si abbassa e arretra o solo si abbassa? Non vorrei che poi si allontani troppo dalle pedane tale da non arrivarci piu
This video was very helpfull for installing the DG solo seat on my Rocker C. Many thanks for it!
Now I have 2 questions. I've tried to install the protective fender tape but didn't work out well. All air bubbles and fingerprints underneath it. I had 2 pieces of tape, now I still have one. 1) Is it necesarry to install the tape? 2) If yes, do you have good advice how to do this?
Many thanks bro.
Greetz from Belgium.
Can u send me the link where I can buy that seat without the blue Stitching plz
Yes-Here it is: amzn.to/3kRBlgj
I have quick release harley bags that have a rame that mounts on that rear seat bolt hole. Will I be able to pu them back on with this seat?
So what is the thread size on the bolts under the seat and on the ones on the side?? I cant find anything on the internet
HI, in the video I can see the rear turn signals with black lenses. I have a question. The rear turn signals are leds and in theory the rear turn signals can not be dismount. How change you the lenses??
Wondering if you know the model number of the Danny Gray seat in this video
Sure do-This is the model of the seat: amzn.to/3kRBlgj
since the fender moves wouldnt it run into the seat at all and hows that feel when riding?
Are you selling the original passenger seat assembly?
@geofatboy Thanks for your fast answer. Well that was also one off my worries that the tape could do something to the paint. My opinion is, I'm pretty sure that my fender comes in contact with the seat because I felt it already a few times today(first ride with DG seat). Roads in Belgium are terrible... But I guess that when there is no dirt between fender and seat it will not do any damage to the fender without the tape. What do you think about this? Correct me if I'm wrong. ;-)
Greetz bro
Takes a T47, no problem removing the bolts.
Does it come in red flame?
Thanks for reply. Does it ruin it physically or just looks wise?
I recently bought a Rocker C with Danny Gray seat but I want to be able to carry a 2nd person from time to time....
Wrong ....
Im 210 and have the shocks all the way up, and when riding smooth there is a gap BUT hit any bump and the rear WILL hit the seat..
Yes they give u tape but I dont like being bucked by the fender hitting bumps... I returned the Danny gray seat and ordered the rocker seat not the C , it fits better and still gives u that lower seat .....was under$250
awsome detailed instructions foolproof. thanks
Thanks Tom!
Great Video, Thanks Bill
I ride around the beautiful island of Cyprus on a Harley Davidson Rocker C! You can see video's of the bike when I bought it with the stock seat and when I changed the seat for the Rocker seat which is a solo seat and sits a lot lower than the stock Rocker C seat. here is a link to the channel! ua-cam.com/users/cliveamo
Thanks for the vid Dude, have fun, Ride safe

Thanks Jes, You as well!
That's a really nice motorcycle.
Yes
cool bike! i love it
How did you get blue stitching
You order it that way. It comes in black, red, or blue stitching.
@@geofatboy yea I clicked on link butit doesn’t give me a option to choose color any other place I can look to find?
@@bigpulla1987 Go on Ebay and enter Danny Gray Solo Seat and the color stitching you want if any.
Looks cool 😎💪👆👍☝️
solo rider buddy, not driver
Hello, thanks for posting this. Question: If you removed the gap between fender and seat, how does the suspension will work now?
any toe got the old second seat for sale
Sold the bike, and the seat a long time ago, but thanks for asking.
Thanks for doing the video. Never really liked that gap behind the seat.
Dan Rodgerson
In my opinion, it's a design flaw on HD's part. Everybody I know complains about it.
My question is whether this is something I can do myself. If it were 4 bolts- no big deal. Seems you needed to wrestle with it. Is this common?
Also- is there a re-sale market for the old seat or have they flooded the market?
what about an aftermarket passenger seat for this bike, i've found two, one by bitchinseats for $2k, and one by corbin for $900, any ideas or other seats you have found, tempted to make my own, $900 is to much for a passenger seat
@geofatboy thanks for the input. my incident was at night too. decided to show off in front of others and sped up to pass them... along comes a sharp onramp that was hidden by darkness. stabbed brakes, dreaded front wheel skid, bike dumps, i fly off...broke my ankle. unfortunately it was totaled.
Needless to say, no more night riding, if i ever get back to it...
Sir, are there rubber grommets that support the rear of the stock seat? I have the stock seat and they have (2) steel posts on the rear of stock seat that look like they go into something for rear stability?
Great video mate :-) lovely bike 👍
Thanks! 👍
@geofatboy grim question - ever dump a bike? i had an accident last oct and wonder if i should get back on saddle again. btw excellent shaving videos.
Is there anyway to accomodate a passenger with the Danny Gray seat? for example purchasing a second piece or something? Thanks.
How much was the seat
Man...where's my "clearing off the runways"?!? :(
after watching this video i was sea sick
hi! where can i buy the stock seats?
Your local Harley Dealership.
They havent got it..
I have the original stock seat on my rocker c, with the built in passenger seat, along with the folding mechanism for the pass seat, that I am sticking with. But I also have another stock seat which does not have the pass seat tucked into it, and I do not need it anymore. Also have a extra rear fender w/ the tail lights still mounted on it, which I don't need either. Interested ?
Dave Metz what price for the seat?
