    This is one of the most challenging conversations in Nigerian culture. Thank you, Flo and Amaechi, for your insights. I love you guys, and thanks for sharing. Well, after having twins, I wanted just two children. It took us five years later to agree to have our last child, especially for the fact that we had no help and lived in the diaspora. Child care is not a cakewalk abroad. You should only have children you can support, and don't wait for God or family to help you raise your children.

      @FloChinyere  Місяць тому

      I can't even imagine how challenging it must have been for both of you to have twins as first children without extra help. 🙌

    The issue is that in the olden days our fore fathers were farmers hence they need more hands to farm as all were farmers then. It is now with the reality of the economic situation that we are now realizing that we have to reduce the no of children.

    We watched this video more than twice❤. OMG the organic gisting is soo pure & we enjoyed it sooo much 😂😂😂 we didn’t want the video to end 😂😂😂
    Our opinion is, for those that want to bear child(ren) better be financially, physically, emotionally, psychologically & mentally ready for the long haul…… regardless of where you live (be it in Africa or Asia/Europe/America(s)). It is a life time commitment of love, dedication and sacrifice.
    Secondly, having children is neither an investment nor retirement plan… having this type of mentality as an adult is very selfish. So try gather common sense before making life-time commitment decisions (such as having child(ren))
    We are looking forward to the next episode on “weddings” byeee 😊

    • @FloChinyere
      @FloChinyere  Місяць тому +2

      Never an investment nor retirement plan. Having children is not a walk in the park and people should ensure they have all the qualities you mentioned before enbarking on having even one child let alone a battalion!

    Children must not come from ones loins . There are Children who need care everywhere. 😂When I want to rile up my Children , I usually tell them that I will have another kid, my son will say in Spanish ,Mum ,really ? ¿Mum Enserio? My daughter will laugh. Back in the days,the number of kids is usually two boys two girls.
    In our house we have a picture of Children like that in a beautiful garden . I thought I would have three Children, but my Children ' s Dad doesn't want lots of Children.So we decided on two. The funny thing is that the cost of living is expensive everywhere. God Bless and help every home. It is well.

    Am enjoying this series of very important topics
    I believe in small family were the children will have equal and higher opportunities in life.
    Parents have time to relax after the day hustles
    You think and worry less
    In most Developed countries
    They don’t really have many children that’s why they go far in life in terms of life spam and actualisation .❤❤❤❤❤

    • @FloChinyere
      @FloChinyere  Місяць тому +1

      The equal and higher opportunities cannot be over emphasized. Even in upbringing. You will notice that most parents are really focused on their first few kids but by the time they get to the 4th or 5th ones, they are already tired and those ones are not as sharpened as the first few.

    Now i understand totally why my yoghurt is constantly hammering it in my ear that we are not having more kids because just the standard of living to take care of them per annum is so damn expensive that one wont even have savings again. To feed a family of 3 is expensive imagine when you have family members staying with you and still take care of our parents too.
    One square meal a day is luxury aswear now. May we train the kids we have now the right way with the right morals too.

      The earlier people realize that children will one day live their own lives the way they want, they won't invest so much time and energy raising many kids. It's good to have kids to keep the house buzzing with people but once they are adults, we can't hold them to ransome if they don't want to be close to us.
      If this is true, it's really a pity. Someone's wife being sick is good excuse. But the rest of the children (don't know how many they are) all having good excuses to not be at their Dad's funeral that all family members chose the date of is something I cannot understand.

  • @kaybyonye
    @kaybyonye Місяць тому +5

    Sis, you are right. Marriage should primarily be for companionship and having kids is not a need.
    If we trust God and he hasn't given us a male child, how is it then a need, biko? Even God himself didn't see the need for it..."He will provide all our needs according to his riches in glory"
    Our culture makes us think we need certain things that if you look at it, the are not needs... May not even be a want for some but we allow "tradition" dictate what our needs should be🤦
    ... Keep enlightening us jooo❤

    • @FloChinyere
      @FloChinyere  Місяць тому +1

      I will never understand that "need" for a male child. In most families it's even the female children that remember those parents more. The day we realize that these children will grow into adults with their own thinking faculties, we will stop having too many children just for the sake of it.

      I would listen to this rant if it was coming from a woman
      You don’t even know what labor pain is, so you can go ahead with your 100 children debate

      @@sylviakelechi7698 There are MDs that will give Analgesics to put off the PAIN in the first place. Here in USA there are Teenagers that WITHOUT PAIN Killer Medication and Caesarian ( C- Section )Surgical Delivery, WOULD have DIED trying to PUSH the Baby outt of the Womb..............Note that I said "If the Mother's Life is on the liine, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY use Surgery to get the Baby out. " May be the Mother should STOP having Children after that ONE Baby. There are Women that can have Babies for other Women through Surrogacy rather the Husband MARRYING another Woman for Children. That is also DONE here in USA.

      @@ericezeokoli8800 I am here in the US also , do you know epidurals fail for some women. Thank God your here so you understand what’s the cost of child care and how some women have put off there career to stay at home because they could only get a six weeks paid maternity leave.
      Nobody should be talking about having 10 children in 2024 please
