I have a previous 50s classic Strat and it's terrific. Easily holds up to my other four US Strats. And I didn't have to take it to my tech for a setup. Great work out of Mexico as far as I'm concerned.

I was selling Fender instruments when the first Road Worn Series instruments came out. To put it plainly: I WAS KNOCKED OUT! Would have bought one of each or at least the Telecaster version that year (believe it was 2010, but could swear it was 2009), but my wife had been pretty ill for a while and the bucks were no where to be found ...

I bought the 50's Modified in Daphne Blue. Love this guitar how it plays, sounds and looks. Only minor annoyance is having to remove the neck to access the truss rod. I am not normally adjusting the truss rod on my guitars with great frequency, but once in a while I may tweak depending on climate and string variability. In those instances I rather simply take out my hex key and be done with it. But then again, it is suppose to be largely vintage spec......

I tried 3 Fender Stratocasters in store. A Vintera 50’s and Original 50’s both had the top E string much too close to the edge of the fret board. All three of them were a devil to get in tune and after only light playing including small string bends they all went out of tune quickly and a retune was necessary, repeat several times to allow for string stretching but this wasn’t the issue. The problem is inherent in Stratocasters. I find it frustrating that I can’t go into a store pick up a Stratocaster and it’s going to play well and stay in tune without having to take it home screw down the trem , file the nut and lubricate it, lubricate the string tree, fit locking tuners, adjust the action, take 4 screws out of the bridge to make it more stable, oh no wait the six screws in the Vintera and Original are very stable according to reviewers so maybe the Pro needs four after 60 years of development, what a foul up, you can spend more time fighting with these great looking guitars than playing if you’re not careful. I’ve had Strats before including a deluxe and an anniversary model and they all had tuning issues and the anniversary had the same string too close to the edge problem. I had a new graphite nut installed on recommendation but it didn’t fix the problem. Buyer beware!

Can I ask you something? Does the new Fender Vintera '60s Telecaster Bigsby actually have a milling for a neck humbucker, so that later without a milling machine a Fender "Wide Range" humbucker can be installed? Thank you ever so much.

Way to go Fender! Same old s#%*^ much more expensive! Those guys think people are stupid. MIM guitars used to cost 400 4 years ago, now they finally reached the 1K.

You can still buy mim strats used between 300 and 500 bucks all day long so at least that hasn't changed much.

They're kinda' tough to get your hands on in the US, but you may want to look into Fender Japan. They seem to specialize in re-issues and "Yngwie-ize" a lot of them. You can get '57, '66, '68, and '72 re-issues with scalloped fretboards and brass nuts. Some materials may be lacking (i.e. pot metal trem blocks), but those parts can be replaced, and their overall build quality is excellent.

The 60’s Strat is hardly historically accurate if they don’t have bevelled magnets as that happened towards the end of the decade not as that headstock suggests the early 60’s.

Fender have a real good sense of image and what their brand stands for.
Simplicity well made and brightly packaged.
It's a shame that Gibson keeps their real talented and creative people in the shadows.
Their workers. Their luthiers at the custom shop.
Gibson should absolutely work on their image and how they present themselves better.
Stop with the "Hard Rock" imagery and focus on your Jazz and Blues roots!
It's a shame, because contrary to what people may think these days, Gibson still makes incredible instruments.
I've been working in a guitar shop for more than 3 years and from what I can gather is that there's far more quality issues
with Fender than with Gibson guitars.
People want a story, Gibson! And you have so many stories to tell! Start digging in your past and stop focusing on selling
microscopically identical plastic parts from a 50's Les Paul for astronomical prices!
