I've seen a lot of comments (mostly on BGG but also on YT comments) that the Trove isn't worth the money and therefore not worth obtaining. Given the cost of 8 Boosters and the cost of the Trove, I'm all for it. The main box and the booklet are well worth the few extra dollars it costs (over the price of 8 boosters). The deck boxes and tokens are rather lack-luster but even if you just throw them away, the rest are great. I plan to pick one of these up and I will have no regrets about doing so. Thanks for your thoughts and opinions and for showing us the contents (as usual😀).
Totally agree! The box and the booklet are nice additions and make the small premium worth it. We like the trove a lot, especially compared to the gift sets. Honestly, the other thing I think the trove has going for it is security. Compared to the booster boxes, it’s difficult to open if one wanted to mess with the packs. So, long term, I do wonder if the troves will be more valuable on the secondary.
The boxes are neat collectibles, I suppose. I do think you’re right…the best products are there box and the booklet. But at MSRP, I think they are a good buy for even those.

The booklet alone is worth the slight bump over 8pack price. That booklet with card info is the type of thing I’ll look back on with Nostalgia years from now as a document of the first chapter. Plus the box is perfect for bulk storage. Hopefully one day these can come with something like “Freeze” or Reckless tokens that feel substantial like the poison and burn tokens in Pokémon ETB’s. -Jacob
They are a neat collectible. With 8 packs at 6 each, what you essentially are doing is paying for the collector box and the player guide. It all depends on whether you want those and what you value them at. For pure players, better to go with pure boosters. For those looking for Lorcana swag and collectibles, the guide and box are kind of neat. Overall, I’m glad these products exist - they’re pretty neat to see in person. But this product overall isn’t for everyone, I agree.
When I was preordering I left the Illumineer's Trove out. I don't think it's worth it unless you're a sealed collector. The only thing nice about it is the booklet but I bet people at your LGS will just give it to you for free when they open their trove. I open every sealed thing I buy so I stuck with the Booster Box and the gift set because it has the jumbo cards in it. I do regret not getting some starter decks though because I ended up posting all my lorcana on tcgplayer and they went fast.
Yeah, I think it comes down to what you value the booklet and box at. Personally, I think they are worth the premium over the boosters. But I’m a nutty collector! I think this is the one sealed product that people either love or dislike. I’m in the love camp. But I understand the other argument.
Ravensburge designed the GAME and DISNEY provides the packaging just like the rest of there retailed IP nothing new. No body wraps retail packing basic common sense

The flap on the deckbox is working as a spring lock if you fold it the other way.

I want the fancy box, and MSRP isn't that much more than the cost of the packs, I think I need one... or two... lol
