I doubt very much the problem is Aix. If you were living in Paris or Marseille you might have the same problem. It sounds like you have the ability to communicate effectively in French which is the major obstacle to many. Living abroad in a new place is a lot of work. I moved to the South of France but I already knew people there who knew more people there. That helped a lot. Loneliness was not a problem. The problem was more the inconveniences of living in a rural area as I came from London and also not having a good enough command of the language, especially when I arrived. Best advice for those contemplating living in France: learn as much French as you can BEFORE you go. Having to always drive everywhere was also something I didn't like. France is very beautiful, and the people very nice, but I learnt a long time ago that location is not everything. More important are who you are with, what you are doing, and basically do you prefer a more metropolitan life or a rural one. A more important question I think is rather than do you prefer living in the UK or France, is do you prefer very large cities, or regional ones/small towns. In the end I think you will just not get everything you want anywhere. I prefer smaller towns, but I know I also miss a lot about living in a large city.
@@Americankrishna Maybe it's just a state of mind. You speak French. I found it an easy place to meet people. But it is more about place of mind than just place, perhaps. Thank you for your videos. And I will pray. Pray for me, too, as you seem to be reaching out to others. Hare Krishna. Je vous souhaite de la paix et de la joie intérieure.
@@boonskis merci/thank you. Every prayer counts; we’re all made of consciousness in the end, and I believe that the supreme consciousness (God) reciprocates with our wishes and prayers.
This is such a beautiful and honest reflection of what goes on inside each of us. We all face struggles, we all experience doubt, and there are times when we may feel deeply alone. Over the years, I’ve come to realize that the path toward God is undoubtedly challenging, yet profoundly fulfilling at its core. One insight that has deeply resonated with me recently is the phase we call anartha-nivritti. It’s that pivotal moment in our spiritual journey when we begin to release the false and illusory attachments to this world. In order to let go of these burdens, we are given the opportunity to confront them head-on and consciously decide to leave them behind. This process is not so easy because these attachments run deep within us! But the light of God's love is always there to guide us. Thank you for this video and your courage in sharing your journey so openly. It truly resonates and inspires.
WOW! It's like looking into a mirror and seeing another person. I empathize perfectly, albeit my situation involves South Korea instead of France. I am associating regularly with Christians here too.
Brilliant video. I had a time when I felt lonely, but thanks to mercy of some devotees with whom I regularly interact, it's no longer there. It's virtual but even that has helped me tremendously. I wish you the best and pray for your good consciousness.🙏 ❤
@@Americankrishna I didn't say I was found. I'm still searching. But I wouldn't say I'm lost either. I know what doesn't make sense to me, including religion and scientific materialism. I have more time for Eastern spirituality/mysticism since it's focused on transcending the ego, but I have problems with it too. Hence agnostic. You do sound lost despite your beliefs and rituals. Forgive me if I've got the wrong impression.
What is the mahamantra in English exactly? O Radha, O Krsna, please bring me into your service. I like this idea, I hope someone can provide the exact words and a Prabhupada/sastra reference. Hare Krsna.
Krishna doesn’t take you to heaven. Jesus Christ does. You seem like a decent person. I hope you find fulfillment in following Christ. I have no doubts about it at all.
Jesus, please save me from your followers. Sorry, but I can't help think of this famous joke. Dogmatism and speaking beyond one's realization is a dangerous thing.
@@Americankrishna So why do you bother to attend a Catholic Church? Don’t they talk about Jesus? Why do you rattle empty words about Krishna, who can’t do anything for you. Jesus is eminently capable of saving you from his followers.
Do you really believe monotheistic religions are on the same wavelength @2:50? If that were so, the other monotheistic religions would have scriptures that are worthy of serious consideration on the plane of ideas, and not just consideration for the historian or scholar of comparative religion. Their scriptures are abominable for the most part.
"Their scriptures are abominable for the most part." Pretty condescending of you, buddy. I don't want to be more Vedic than my acharyas (Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Srila Prabhupada), who had way. more respect for the other theisms of the world than you seem to have.
@@Americankrishna Thank you for your reply. I fail to understand why other scriptures filled with hate speech should be respected. Why condone these texts? Please don't misunderstand me. I am not reducing other theisms solely down to their scriptures.
@@paulthomas281 I have 2 thoughts. I personally (it's just me) want to follow the mood and teachings of my teachers, in my line, and - as I said - they had quite generous attitudes. In fact, the notion of "saragrahi vaishnava," or 'essence seeking devotee of God/Vishnu" is very important. Yes, there's certainly tons of lacunas in the Bible etc, but why be like a fly on stool? Why not be like a bee looking for honey? Let's be generous and focus on the devotional elements of other traditions.

Aix-en-Provence is a beautiful place, with beautiful people. It's one of the few places I have never felt lonely.
I'm glad for you :)
