Man,..we are like brothers from other mothers... I AGREE with you on soooo many levels regarding custom brushes and not sharing and trying to retain individuality!!!!

I trained with Corel Draw waaaaaaaay back in the day and once I grew comfortable with it I started to use it in my personal work until I kept getting criticized and laughed at by the print shops here in the states. I finally alienated CD after version 8 and just prior to that I was exploring Corel Painter which I think was not yet under the Corel Umbrella yet. (I cannot remember) Anyway,..I moved on and now see how cost prohibitive Corel products are so I never even think about their software anymore. Painter looks fantastic but man,...to try and learn something new that robust again seems daunting to me at this stage of my life.

I switched fully from photoshop to corel painter back when CC hit. However, I've since added in so many other programs. Clip Studio Pro has become a huge staple for me, basically replacing photoshop. On the other hand... Rebelle has become my "real media" simulator. I'm always impressed by the updates each year.

Hi Lawrence . oh boy yess Corel painter , when I tried it for the first time it was corel painter X (10) painter 11 and x3 !! Painter.. problem was pc's I had were or weak .. or I never knew/discovered /figured out .. how to make painter work well specially some of those brushes I liked . at teh same time some other brushes I tried to make them work similar to photoshop specifically on the pen pressure and opacity . but ahh I managed to make them like I wanted just a few of them.. also then tweaking Menu's gods they were a lot , its great to have thos options but I felt like bloated of options and possibilities ,.. watercolor brushes I love them but then again some of them were so difficult to work with hem they always stress my cpu to the hell . xD so all in all those were my main 2-3 factors why I left Corel Painter trying to make it as my main app . beautiful app , great engine lot of GREAT FEATURES ! but my experience was always in a curved down enthusiasm .. Im buying a new pc now .. and Im tired of photoshop .. Im using more and more Clip Studio .. and Procreate so I will give Corel Painter a new try! . I heard it works way better now lot of things were tuned up ..
a question /suggestion ?? could you make a vid showing painter .. maybe . like how to make a transition more easy for those who are Photoshop users ?
I think I started with corel painter coz some of the artist I like (Justin Sweet and Ryan Church at that time worked with painter :3 )

I love drawing on my iPad, would love to see corel painter for iPad. In a perfect world, apple would release an iPad pro 15" that could dual boot ios or mac os. The M1 chip and newer could surely handle this. I have a Wacom cintiq 22 paired to a high end pc with photoshop and painter. man.. The display and responsiveness is nothing like the iPad.

I think we are getting closer and closer all the time to a tablet with full Mac OS BUT I think it will just be because Mac OS of the future will be a version of iOS. Then Corel Painter will have to be on there!!! We will win for sure!!!! #TellCorel

    1. Question:
What do you think about Rebelle 5? Seems like a unique drawing/painting App similar to Corel Painter (currently I use Procreate and Krita, but don't like these Apps).
    Question 2:
I'm a beginner in drawing/paintings (but have experience in print/layout-design, I'm also starting a new full-time job at an ad agency).
I want to diversify my skills and one of these goals is, to get better at drawing. While I'm already studying a lot of drawing fundamentals (like perspective drawing), I struggle to find good practice exercises. There are way too many explanations on the internet about drawing fundamentals, but almost no advice how to make and find good drawing exercises! Do you have advice on that?

Pretty good by all accounts. I don't really use it myself. I've got a buddy who is the official artist for all their tutorials though. It is Justice from +TabletPro. You can check him out and ask for details. I use Corel Painter myself which is very similar and has been around for years!

The best skill you can pick up is simply to practice for 1-3 hrs a day and draw different things. Things that challenge you and you find tough to draw. It is that simple.
