Thanks so much for the tip about doing the drilling in the laundry tub! I never would have thought of it, and it made it so much easier to have the steady water supply.

I accumulated some antique glass blocks from the 1800's. Would this method still work, or would the glass break? 😅

I received one of these circa 2002. The lights just now burned-out. Unfortunately, the hole is only large enough for the cord and the string lights inside are the pre-LED christmas lights. Is there a way to safely break the seal that holds-together the two halves of the glass block?

As far as I know you couldn’t open the seam of the block. But they had to get the lights in, so it must be possible to get the lights out.

Thank You for responding .... yes, whomever made it took time to push-in one light at a time; but the string is the 'old' lights (before led) and though 'were probably easy to push-in -- are pretty much impossible to get back out - ha! I've decided to get an updated glass block from a craft store. Thank You again so very much!

Where can I buy the hole stoppers?
And hoe many mm they are?

Hello! It really depends where you live and the type of stores in your area. I’ve found them at Lowe’s home improvement store in the hardware section. They sold them in small quantities, singles or pairs I think. I bought a large bag from Ali Express when I was doing a larger batch. The hole caps are the same size as the drill. 19mm if I remember correctly.

Where do you get the cap to plug the hole

Try home improvement stores. I’ve found them at Lowe’s, but when I was making a lot of these I bought them from Ali Express.
