  • As the Pixel 2XL stopped getting security updates I thought it would be time to upgrade and for the first time preordered a phone. The Pixel 6 Pro come early and here is my initial comparison after I setup the phone and had it for nearly 24 hours!

    Im still going to keep my 2 XL, its still such a smooth and polished experience. Camera, battery, performance are still all adequate for my needs.

      I don't blame you I think the Pixel 2XL was one of the best phones made and as I said if it wasn't for security updates I would probably kept it till the Pixel 7 just so they had a year of updates under their belt.
      Still happy with the 6 Pro so far except I do wish they kept the fingerprint sensor on the back.

      I didn't have the Pixel 2xl till 6 months after release so I can't comment on that but I haven't had any issues making calls on the 6 pro so far. But I don't make a lot of calls and I always use my Bluetooth earbuds.

    I completely agree with you. I have the White Pixel 6 Pro and it's way too slippery a lot of the time. I do have some cases which definitely helps, but they should have given the glass a different finish so that it had some grip.

    • @Nemesis099

      My case (Spigen Ultra-Hybrid) finally comes today I have been freaking out that I'm going to drop it. Although at least the camera bump allows you to grab something to prevent it from sliding. I also don't put it on tables as it will slide so I keep it on stands with rubber grips.

    You can change the sensitivity of the squeeze function on the pixel 2xl. I never had a problem with Google assistant coming on just from picking up the phone.

    Thanks for this! I'm also coming from a pixel 2xl and this was helpful to see them side by side. How was the change in screen in terms of color accuracy and refresh rate? Anything you miss from your 2xl so far?

    • @Nemesis099
      @Nemesis099  2 роки тому

      I'm not very good at judging colors but it seems pretty good to me. I think the screen being a bit more curved so when holding the phone I tend to touch things on the screen without meaning to. But this will probably stop once I receive the case which is due in next week.

    Hello, I love my pixel 2 XL, but unfortunately it is time to let go after 3 years. I have just bought 4XL but the battery performance is simply dissapointing. The 2XL can hold much better after all this time compared to brand new 4XL 😒 How is the battery performing on 6 pro compared to 2xl? Because I've been watching a lot of reviews and I am not convinced of this new release. It feels like google pixel is not the blast it once was and I am thinking to switch to another android brand... Thank you 😊

    • @Nemesis099
      @Nemesis099  2 роки тому +1

      Battery performance is amazing on the pro but it's slow to charge but I think that is because I don't have fast chargers. Still it lasts a long time and I have no complaints on battery life.

    I am keeping my 2xl for now because I love that I can take photos and videos and they will upload for freen on Google Photos (although videos get down sampled from 4k to HD).

    • @Nemesis099
      @Nemesis099  2 роки тому

      I understand and wish the Google had kept the unlimited uploads at original quality for at least 1 year on every device. I purchased a used Pixel just for uploading photos and offload once a month. I also upload to Amazon and keep a copy on my computer. I know too many that have lost years of photos because they kept them in one place.

      Yep the free unlimited upload to cloud is still in effect as long as you have your original device I believe 2 thru 4. Once you upgrade phone you lose it. Part of the reason I've been hanging on so long with my 2xl even after they stopped the security updates. The free cloud storage is a huge benefit.

    Hello! I'm also a 2xl and I'm considering upgrading to the 6 Pro. I miss the sensor on the back but it sounds like I may be able to adjust by your vid. I do have a question. How does the sound come through the speakers on the 6 pro? One thing I love about my 2xl is how I can play vids/music (w/o earbuds) and it comes through imo amazingly clear and loud enough compared to other phones.
    I love it. Anywho any info on this it is truly appreciate it. Thank you!

    Was it easy to transfer everything from Pixel 2 to your Pixel 6. It's September now so I might wait for the 7 to come out before I upgrade my Pixel 2 XL. The only reason is top right button on the pixel 2 XL fell off this morning.

    • @Nemesis099
      @Nemesis099  2 роки тому

      I would recommend waiting for the 7 to come out unless you have to buy a phone now. Even if you don't get the 7 the 6 prices should drop and might as well get a good deal although I think some places are dropping prices to clear inventory already. With the 7 having a new Tensor chip it might be worth it as I'm sure they made some updates and design changes after learning a lot from the Pixel 6 phones being out for a year.
      Saying all that, transferring over from the Pixel 2xl to the 6 was no issue it brought everything over pretty quickly.

    So how is the pro 7 months later? Im still using my pixel 2 xl. I'm thinking about upgrading but it's a hard choice to make

    • @Nemesis099
      @Nemesis099  2 роки тому +1

      I'm really happy with the upgrade and found it to be well worth it. My son is still using my old Pixel 2xl and it works for him but when using the same apps the 6 pro loads faster and is quickly in the menus. If you don't mind waiting they might run some deals before the 7 comes out and it could be worth the wait to get the deals or the 7 depending on what they update.
      Also with more RAM I think apps close less frequently so I'm not waiting as long for them to load from memory.

  • @MrKnifeart

    Heard that Android was bad for it 10 months ago.. has the issues been fixed on the upgrades?

    • @Nemesis099
      @Nemesis099  2 роки тому

      I really didn't have a lot of issues with my phone. Only real issue was one update was draining battery very quickly but a patch was put out within a week. Luckily I'm home most of the time so it wasn't a big deal.
      I do wish the transmitters were better as I that can drain battery going from 4G to 5G and seemingly loosing connection frequently when driving. My son who has my old Pixel 2XL has less issues staying connected to the network. I'm on Verizon so it might be unique to their network.

      The table is in my house and has adjustable feet. It might not be perfect but the bubbles were level when I put it in, but the phone did slide off the table. Have a case on it now but the phone is slippery. Still not a reason to skip the 6 just saying a case is probably a good idea.
