This is a great video. I needed to see this video because I'm changing my struts with coilovers & I needed to know how to remove the interior. Thank you so much for this video‼️
You are welcome. I made the video because I thought you might need it.

Exactly what happened to me when I was flushing transmission oil and changing a filter and a pan gasket.
At the end, after filter been changed and I was ready to put on the sealant on the gasket - I realize it was completely wrong by shape, holes, etc...
ITs kinda tough to get OEM verified quality struts like KYB, COMPLETELY Assembled form, eg for this model (or further up) car. There are other struts claiming this or that but people found hard way not providing the similar original support/ride after using them.. This really is the center point of riding any horses which no one would wish to compromise with!!
Hmmm, didn't realize that. I saw them when I was shopping for these struts and figured they were KYB. I don't like the idea of just throwing away the springs, since they don' really wear out, but I just looked and you're right. They are some off-brand.
@@antimattergarage8147 I also appreciate the idea of using stuff (spring eg) as long as they work (without compromising safety) as this would help immensely for keeping our planet green/environment in good shape for coming generations perhaps!!
Hi!
Thank you very much for the video!
Sorry, isn't that easier (for me) to buy and replace the whole part, so it won't be necessary to extract the spring?
Thank you!
Yup, no problems with that. It would be easier.
Great video thank you for the information!
Thanks for checking out my channel!!!Cant reply to messenges due to comunity guide lines!!
What size and brand are the rims and tires size they look nice
They are 17" wheels from a brand called Sport Edition. Unfortunately, I don't think they make them anymore. I bought them on tirerack.com and when I went back to get the exact model for someone else who asked, I couldn't find them.
The tires are 215/50-R17. That kept the diameter the same as the stock wheels. Also, they were just a tiny bit lighter than the stock wheels if I remember correctly. I think they look really good too. Thanks for asking.
What struts where your first ones that you took out? The original equipment or cheaper replacements?
They were exactly the same struts I put in. They are KYB G2 struts. The number is in the video.
What kind of rims and tires are those? Looking to replace my stock rims on my 02. Great looking car btw
Thanks. They are called Sport Editions They are 17". I got them on tirerack.com, but I don't know the exact model. I went to tirerack and couldn't find them.
thats pretty good manual where did you get it?
Hmmm, hard to say. I have one for each car. The first one I got from Toyota. I think the other two I got on ebay. They are frequently referred to as BGBs (Big Green Books). No matter where you get them they are expensive. Plus, my 1988 Corolla had one big green book, which was actually yellow. But the 1999 Solara and the 2003 MR2 Spyder both had 3 books. That's right, 3 books and all were expensive. I want to say a set for the Solara was about $150. Maybe $200. But they are really, really helpful if you are going to do this kind of work. Do a search under "Service Manual" for the car. Haynes and Chilton make very generic ones that are inexpensive, but NO WHERE NEAR as good. Might as well be for a truck really. Anyway, good luck on your repairs.
I got a 2004 solara
what a stupid design just make trunk access and be done
You mean like cut a hole in the trunk leading to the cabin?
YOU don't necessarily have to take all pannels off to access the strut head.

Regrettably, in this area finding homes NOT in an HOA is very difficult.
