- THIS TRUCK COSTS $2950.00 USD, and comes ready to run with EVERYTHING you need but a battery and fuel. THIS IS a HUGE MACHINE! I am so stoked to get this TMR Performance Clutch Engine and ORIGINAL PROTOTYPE Exhaust Pipe installed in this film. There is so much to do, but ever since I explained the issues in the previous episode ( • WHAT HAPPENED TO MY RA... ) , I have been looking forward at getting this project started/completed?! The TMR Engine and Pipe combo are supposed to produce approximately 12-14hp when tuned, in the right conditions. (www.tmrperforma...) Today, its about -23c outside.. and in no way is it appropriate to be out there. BUT - I want to go step by step through this process.. as I know others will find it entertaining, and hopefully helpful. I even get to start this beast up with a bit of a surprise. Thankfully my radio was very close, and I was prepared!
Note - for those viewers who think that this engine was "missing its woodruff key" for the clutch - There is no key. It uses the taper press to retain the clutch , All RC engines are this way - but for some reason the Chinese companies that make the cranks we use in these engines put a key way in both sides of the crank in the same location. There isn’t any pocket-bike clutches that are keyed to even match the crank so it’s useless . TMR Performance has had them spin on the crank when they aren’t made right and you find that out immediately when you bolt it on . Other than that they have never had one slip especially when torqued properly. The truck is not very heavy - and the clutch / crankshaft does not show signs of wear.

Pedantic point: all engines are motors, but not all motors are engines. That said, it's probably a crank shaft.
I'm glad to see a power tool being used.
I must say it's really nice to see such a large R/C being worked on, because everything is large enough for us total novices to see what's going on.
Love the larger gas RCs, my first was a CEN GX1 Nitro that I converted to a drift car but she's in a state of disrepair atm...

Almost had a custom Raminator doggy door through the overhead door..lol. I've been fighting with the 2 needle carb for about a week and it just wont turn over 🤬. Stock carb starts 2nd pull every time. Super glad you own this truck keep us posted and up to date. Have heard something about being very careful with how your throttle cable is ran with the TMR.
He started like a fiery horse, I thought he was going to go alone 😄😄 In all everything seems to be impeccable and your work is excellent, now we will wait for the test run 😊

Awesome awesome awesome on the clutch swap looks like it's going to be a beast but I'm a little upset that he had to remove the little guy off the body so let's see what happens hopefully he can remove that exhaust and put a better one that way he can put that little guy back into the truck body but he did not finish the video I know he's going to finish it in another video but I just cannot wait I love it

Finally fixed and ready for tuning. I fixed the cable by shortening the loom by 6 inches. Works super smooth now

Guess the clutch on that relies fully just on friction to the tapered crankshaft as there didn't seem to be a key in the slot on the shaft?
Correct.. the tapered shaft compression is ample. The clutches do not even come with a slot for a key.. Since there is no real weight on these machines.. there is no real slippage
