Miss Teen USA 2023 Runner-Up DECLINES Title After Winner's Recent Resignation | E! News
/ enews - Розваги
Was not expecting that honestly, especially after the Miss Hawaii girl was so quick to fill the Miss USA position. Well done Stephanie for taking life and your success into your own hands rather than the risk of being micromanaged by a failing organization. All the best 🥳
Miss HI didn't decide quick. Miss HI declined at first
There is definitely something going on here. It should be investigated!
Hey dear
Good for her. Super disappointed that Miss USA runner up so quickly accepted the title.
I think they offered her money and more that she gladly accepted.
Why so many revealing outfits for these “teens” as if it’s normal now?
Looks good to me ......
- seems much much more so in typical highschool girls...however, you are right -it's too much.
Therealhtrinity because US is not Saudi Arabia or Iran,mr Khomeini.
@@BlackOpsPeppe
These are TEENS which generally means under the age of consent. Which is sexualizing kids, ultimately. Go ahead and name call it doesn’t help your stance. Asking a question does not equal an unholy dictatorship where possibly multiple children are married to old perverts under the guise of “religion”.
19?! She looks older than that.
It’s called make-up!
@@LiveIsBeautiful ah Jesus Christ lad we do wear makeup but not all us cake it on like doll birds like this one does.
I think she looks very teen and looks 19 years old.
Smart decision. Being from Hawaii, I wish our runner up for Ms. USA declined it....
Savannah is a fighter!!! She get um! Only 3 months left.
- agreed! She's not a girl's girl and her mother is very bad, sadly.
So much respect for miss new York
My goodness, so much makeup! I remember when Miss Teen USA looked like a teenager!
there more important things in life than beauty titles, thank God the girls are realizing it and rejecting them, you can always change your mind if u see something down the line that u don't agree with. Good for them, wish them the very best
Doing things that make you happy is important.
- these titles are a ton of work and it takes tremendous dedication. The reason this teen refused is due to the abuse from the CEO/Laylah Rose.
whats going on?????
The Miss and teen resigned due to abuse by the CEO, Laylah Rose. The Teen was even granted a restraining order against the CEO back in March.
They need to clean house clearly there is a awful culture in that organization
American Super Heroes FOREVER....THANK YOUUUU ALL FOR YOUR IMMENSE COURAGE AND MIRACLE PRAYERS OUR YOUNG PEOPLE...TOGETHER IN OUR HEARTSSS AND PRAYERS FOREVER 🙏 💞 💖
Is that a handprint on the wall between their faces in the picture with both Miss USA and Miss Teen US?
Maybe… funny I read your comment right when they showed the pic
Blimey, so many were named, that I'll never remember you all... ah well. All those names will be forgotten. Such a shame.
I'm sure there will he someone honoured enough to want it soon. Good luck to that girl, who WILL be remembered and grateful!
Good for you girl!!!
What is going on!!?
Respect! ✨👑💯
The surprising thing is that this strange “industry” still exists.
RIGHT.
There are many things that I'm quietly biting my tongue and watching and having these thoughts of _us_ watching these videos on victorian times, jaws gaping at 'how was that okay?'.
Good for her!
She resigned reasons doesnt matter
why are these young ladies not protected??? The FBI needs to get involved ASAP
😏
The Florist…🌹
Uma is big boss now size wise too
smart move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s the perfect time to dismantle Teen-whys it necessary? the other countries in Miss Universe don’t have a partner holding their hand everywhere they go.
Well done ladies .
Setting an example for all women .
These pageants are past their time .
At least they didn't lose to a former boy
Is this the only job you can resign from on Instagram? Yeah get rid of anything that rewards these shallow media people. You know -singers, actresses, models and other entertainers. This includes pro athletes or even amateurs since that is blurred now. Hate to see some politician or judge that was a winner of these competitions and it kick- started a career.
Why take the crown at all?
If you were so worried about your mental health why didn’t you leave BEFORE the crown was awarded…
I am asking the RIGHT question.
She might not have been aware of the appearance schedule that Miss USA/Teen USA have to make. They are traveling all throughout the year. It might have sounded better than the reality ended up being. She essentially becomes an employee of the organization with constant performance reviews.
Or it has nothing to do with mental health prior but a pattern of toxic behavior by the people running the contest?
@@cmo9400 I swear ppl are so thick 😂 I don’t think they understand that it’s not mental health related at all but a muted version of what’s actually going on.
@@cmo9400 Agreed. Life pre-win and post-win are VERY different.
@@aishariel9924 The ladies are being silenced.
Wow, Miss Teen USA has more class and character than the Miss USA runner up. Commendable
Umasofia probably badmouthed the title to her
In the name of Vanessa Williams, this is BS ungrateful all of them
Read between the lines.
Misogynistic much?
😂😂😂😂😂
Get a backbone. You are judged on everything. Thats i stopped doing them. But i didnt quit. Future contestants you have to be tough. And say words are words. You have to have backbone.
I think, Stephanie is so scared to be crowned the new Miss Teen USA. Maybe she knows is she gets crowned Miss Teen USA, she's going to be bullied, and have to face many problems during her reign. I really miss UmaSofia, and Noelia.
UmaSofia's a very sweet and articulate young woman and I warmed up to her win but the bottom line is this is a beauty pageant and the 1st runner-up was miles ahead in beauty and is equally well-spoken and is attending an ivy league college.
Ah, but there's where you're wrong. Miss USA and Miss Teen USA are no longer just "beauty pageants". It's true that their appearance is important, after all, they're good will ambassadors for our country as well as being a representative for various sponsors, but these young women are expected to have platforms for various social programs that they take an interest in. That's where their intelligence is needed. When you enter a "beauty pageant" you only need to look pretty, your intelligence isn't a big factor. Look back to the earlier years of Miss USA when it was just a "beauty pageant" and you'll see what I mean. Contestants were usually models, secretaries and airline stewardesses, jobs where you needed to look nice but were rather subservient. Today, contestants are beautiful but they're doctors, attorneys, scientists, philanthropists, etc.
@@dhutch457 I must agree with you on this. In my country South Africa, the miss SA organization has made it a point to choose articulate, intelligent and confident women - who captivate you when they speak. Physical beauty became a secondary/tertiary requirement. Even though they're still beautiful, it's not the core requirement. As a man who's had no interest whatsoever in beauty pageants before, my interest in such was only piqued by the new 'crop' of well-spoken and captivating women who are gracing the proverbial catwalk in greater numbers than before.
Ivy League education is no longer what it once was, unfortunately.
@@phandapanda9644 Miss South Africa org is the standard now! 😍🙌🏻 Seriously. Steph Weil has done an outstanding job, and I honestly wish other organizations would follow suit. It’s the only org I would recommend, so South Africans are lucky they have such an org :)
TF? She shouldn’t have accepted the runner up title either 😑
Not after that scandal was revealed.
I guess I don’t understand that if they had these mental health issues prior to competing, why did they compete in the first place? Did they not understand the responsibilities that come with holding this title? Not sure I would call them “ungrateful” necessarily. Just very ill-informed.
It is not the girls’ issue. Rather the Miss USA management issues. They had issues because of the bullying and unhealthy working environment courtesy of Layla Rose
youre the toxic one at your work fyi
Can’t you read between the lines?! 😂
It’s obviously not mental health per say, but a very toxic work environment and they’re trying to silence the ladies with NDAs. They can’t outright say what’s going on 🤦🏻♀️
They did not have mental health issues prior to competing, that's the crux to the whole story. Their physical and mental health issues occurred during their rein, allegedly as a result of incidents that occurred within the organization.
@dhutch457 I'm personally surprised that this is not translating 'obviously'? Mental health issues _develop_ commonly. I'm feeling genuine pity for when all of these people coming from such judgement have their turn...
What drama queens. Be grateful! What the heck? With their attitude, they don't deserve the title!
You judged first before knowing the whole real story. 🤦♀️🤷♀️
Are you Layla ? 🙄
Which part should they be most grateful for, the mental or physical abuse?
😵💫😵💫😡😡
transgender ?
The actions of these women are going to bring on big changes to these tacky organizations. Previously contestants sucked it up or normalized their views, expectations and experiences. Or probably felt there was no options to complain because of NDAs. But this time around these women prioritized themselves over being harmed and found a way to bring attention to this matter. AMAZING, SMART and BRAVE 🫡👍🏽👍🏽
