To clean it, I run the top under the faucet for a couples seconds.

I've had my Ninja Creami for about a year now, and my experience is somewhat different. I do agree it is loud. I don't have a basement, so it may or may not have something to do with that. People have very different tolerances to noise. I am quite sensitive, but I tolerate it because of the superb quality of the product it produces. And it does produce quite a variety of cie creams from very rich to very light.
For impatient people, you can certainly go to the store to purchase commercial ice cream, but that takes some time too (not 24 hours though). If you are making your own, there are ice cream machines that instruct you to freeze a jacket for the machine where the cold is stored; then you mix and churn your ice cream. It may then need some more time in the freezer to harden to the degree of your liking. If you have a compressor type machine, you are instructed to make the mix and chill it before proceeding to freeze. After the freezing process, it it still pretty much soft serve consistency and needs additional freezer to to firm up. So . . . . . every process has its time requirements. My preference is to prepare the mix (I do several) and keep them in my freezer until I want to eat it. Then it takes 5 minutes or less. Plus the Ninja Creami does a lot of things besides making ice cream. I sound like I am selling them, but I am merely a very happy user.

Use a Water Pik to clean the top and blade hole.
