Last video did not show the system playing. I usually don't demo things on video because the mic on the phone distorts and also you usually can't hear the lower notes well, but here you go!
i connected 2 sony car subs and jbl 762 2ways on my home ampliier, it sounds better that those high price home theaters, only drawback is my system is totally analog
you can add a bluetooth adapter or connect a amazon alexa. get a 5 way aux splitter, connect your your audio devices to it and the bluetooth device and you’re good. I’m gonna drop a video on my set up soon hopefully by the end of this month. i have 2 DD 12” subs and another 2 12” kickers both running on their own amps at around 1000w each.
lightyears better than any actual home theatre under a thousand bucks imo. i remember buying a soundbar years ago and returned it the next week out of disappointment.
I have a 4 channel amp with JBL hooked up, 2 6 1/2 and 2 6x9. It get so loud and very clear music. Way better then a sound bar and cheaper. My other setup was same kicker 6x9's on a board amp 3.5mm from tv.
I have also built a home audio system using car drivers. I found one important aspect. assuming you chose the right combination of drivers. I build 2 speakers using Skar Audio dual 2 ohms (DVC) wired at 4 ohms. plus 1 DS18 tweeter on each speaker. sounds like a dream. but I had a bit of a missing midrage. so I bought 2 DS18 6.5 inch 4 ohms, but here is where I found it to be most efficient. the two main speakers I hung above the TV. and the two Midrange speakers hung in the ceiling on the opposite side. (using them as surround speakers) BUT I used a very powerful old Onkyo receiver with 480 watts RMS. as appose to using a car audio system. works like dream. it was a bit of work. but all the drivers cost 170$. I had to build the enclosures. picking out the drivers was the most difficult thing. so you can get a full range sound with deep bass, without using a preamp for the subwoofers. I think it's a great way to build a decent sounding system for a fraction of the cost of home audio.
Even the guys with pro audio recording gear seem to struggle to capture what you are hearing in the room but I appreciate the fact that you gave it shot knowing that you would get feedback from everyone regardless of their own gear. I went through the snob phase - nothing less than Sennheiser HD800 cans from a $1500 DAC - but now I just accept that reality trumps $$$ gear every time and that combination can often sound WORSE than a pair of cheap earbuds. Thanks for the video,
Are you able to get any low frequencies from the 6x9 speakers? I decided to use 6x9's for my audio system in my living room and all I get out of them is mids and highs but no frequencies.
Sounds better than most home stereos...I have a stereo I paid $1200 for and it claimed 4000 watts, but I can stand in the room at full tilt..lol...so I'm going with some old school precision power amps I took out of my car on my setup...just curious how it will sound when it's complete? I also have 4×6.5 alpine components to build boxes for, and a Sony Explode 12 inch sub..I might make a video when done.
Who needs properly designed enclosures and crossovers when you can have fully hectic subwoofas and some 13way 6x9?😂 I actually did a similar thing for my HT because I had a bunch of stuff leftover from my car audio days. I had 2x 15" Tarantula subs in BR enclosures and 4x 8" woofers and 1" tweeters in sealed towers and hooked it all up to 2x Tarantula amps. It sounded pretty good for HT but It was nowhere near as good for music as my HIFI system. It did look really cool with those big chrome amps mounted on the wall but it eventually all got sold to a friend that wanted it for his Holden Commodore about 10 years ago and i still regret it.
So, I'm thinking about doing this same setup but with 4 or 6 6x9s and 2 12" subwoofers in ported box running on a 1000-1200 watt 4 channel amp. I plan to run the 6x9s and the subs on the amp Orrrr....buy the JBL Partybox 710, which is 800 RMS watts shared between 2 8" woofers and 2 2.75" tweeters. Have you every heard the JBL Partybox 710? Which would you do?
For my set up I used a regular in home receiver. (the Sony STR-DH590 to be exact). It has HDMI in/out. Bluetooth, AUX. I'd have to take a look, but I think it has RCA (coaxial) inputs as well. The hard part is setting up the subwoofer. I have a regular car sub amplifier that's connected to an RV/boat battery charger. I wanna say it's the powermax 55 amp power supply. The Sony receiver has coaxial subwoofer outputs, and that is connected to my amplifier for the sub. Then I have 5 Kenwood speakers as my front/center/surround speakers that are wired directly to the receiver. They're paired up at 50 watts at 6 ohms.
I am so sick of home Surround Sound AVR units... They are CRAP. I came here looking for an other option... Screw 5.1.2 ATMOS if I can at least get a good 5.1 system...
The current setup uses a l/r analog signal from the tv. So you could set up a Dolby 5.1 type set up, but you wouldn't get the true dolby atmost setup. For that you would need an hdmi or optical receiver
I would recommend the Sony STR-DH590 for the receiver. Had it for a few years and it's an amazing receiver. You could probably find it for under 200 bucks. It comes with a microphone for calibration as well. It measures the distance of the speakers from your seating position to tweak when the speakers produce sound to provide the best experience.
Sounds better than a cheap ass sound bar good job 👍
you can definitely get better speakers for the price, car audio cost more for lesser products

Sounds better than a lot of home systems. That in your ear clear sound.
For playing it on video my friend that sounds great absolutely could have taken it higher 🔥🔥🔥
Nice
I'll have to make an update video. I've made some changes to the sub and added an amp

Very cool setup. I have a 10" fosgate hx2 hooked up to my surround sound. Sounds amazing. Paid $35 for the sub and ported box on offerup
Definitely satisfied... Im going to be doing my setup soon as well using a Constant 12v 30A power supply that you use for CCTV cameras...
