Greetings and welcome to another installment in the iWish series, a series in which I purchase various questionable products to see if they are any good...most of the time they are not but I buy this stuff so you don't have to!
HOWEVER you folks were generous enough to donate towards seeing these AliExpress items!
I did a live stream where I was looking for just ONE good item to purchase so then I had my schedule all done before October 10th which is when I'll take my break until the 31st.
And during the stream, we found 4 items and you folks were absolutely amazing and put money towards seeing them reviewed on the channel and as I mention in the video, the "used mobile phone" won't be happening but we tried. So I'll have 3 items from the stream to review this month and today is the SOYES S23 PRO...a TINY "WELCOME" S23 Ultra Clone.'
It's been a while since I looked at most of the advertising for a WELCOME so in this one I'll take a look through that and then start to test out this tiny little clone. Is it any good though? Well when you hear a certain processor you will go "ohhhhhhh...it won't be".

can't you use android studio to extract the files? I was able to extract all the system files on both my android 13 galaxy a32 and my android 11 redmi 9. also, you can change the screen size in dev options under "minimun widht", set it to a lower number and it should be good to go.

the reason i love smoorez is because his videos feel "fair" or "complete", he adds timestamps for specific moments, doesnt bombard you with music, subtitles, screams and other eye-capturing techniques, he gives you the info of the phone, going as far as giving prices for different currencies, along with system files, i could go on for hours but you get my point
37:09 I'm a tech nerd, and I've known this for a while since I have devices with only one speaker , but the reason it is compressing is because most videos have stereo sound only and quite a few devices with only one speaker don't support automatically switching that to mono audio so it makes it sound compressed
In other words, ****ing awful, especially coming from that puny sized speaker... Can we even call it a speaker? 🙂

Old flagships are usually a bad deal. Bad batteries, scratches, grime ... This phone is mostly a novelty, but you could pick up something decent in $60-100 range for kids, or non demanding users.
@@aleksazunjic9672you can changd the battery on older iphone for cheap. And kid would add another scratches from falls 😁 Even If I would be broke to buy “new” phone because for Example I’ve Totaled my current phone, I would rather consider old iPhone 6-7 than these androids.

My REAL S23 Ultra doesn't even take a MicroSD card so this little phone is better than the real thing in at least one way 👍🏻

There's no way you even understand the multinuclear high energy breakthroughs! If you did, you would appreciate the way this phone achieves the small massive brilliance of the dazzling protagonist! Also, with my own multinuclear energy properly calibrated to high, I can play GTA6 on this phone all day long.
But really, thanks for this very interesting vid. It's fun to see what this cheap stuff can do.
The reason why reviews are mostly bizarre is because the people who buy things from Aliexpress and are from different Asian or eastern European countries use their native language since the app is in it too, and the app uses a built in translator to translate the review text to whatever your default language is, but since google is not a thing in china, they use Alibaba translate, which is not that good with English, this is also the reason why many Chinese products have bad English, and I also assume people use translator there because English isn't taught in school, and when you have completely different alphabet and grammar rules, they probably look at the English language like how we look at Chinese, when it comes to learning it.

It's funny; depending on how old you are the "Zoolander" tiny phone joke works in completely different ways. For younger people; haha silly guy has silly small phone. For us slightly older, but still young at heart, millennials the joke is about consumerism. Miniaturization of personal electronics was incredibly stylish back then and expensive to achieve. The smaller the phone you had, the more fashionable and wealthy you were perceived. "Zoolander" took that dynamic to as absurd a limit as possible.

That Spigen case is legit, because it is sold by Spigen directly. Although you should avoid using Temu still.

@justarandomguy2126 Judging by their predecessor, pinduoduo. The team behind that was hired to make the Temu app, basically the same shop with a new name for the western market. Child labor is one of the issues pinduoduo had, aswell as leaking/ selling millions of customers data. Their app also had spyware in it, literally built in by the internal team. Also I checked Temu and the amount of supposed gifts, credit and discounts thrown at you the second your account is created is a very cheap tactic, all to make customers stay, which for me as someone working in IT just rings alarm bells.

I knew as soon as you went into the display size settings what was going to happen. You may be able to change it back in developer settings. You can also change the scale with "wm density 220" from an ADB shell.
Isn't there that "min width" setting in dev options? I've used it. When I've used it right, it upsized my text a little.
When I used it wrong, you just about needed a microscope to see the text. It was hard as hell, finding and readjusting that "min width" setting back to something sane.

Okay, now I wanna find clear cases for regular iPhones and Galaxys that gives that cool effect with the flashlight LED. Anyone know of any cause that's legit a really cool effect and if done properly could diffuse the light and make it work as a slightly better flashlight too.
@Smoorez you can set custom dpi in developer options,under "drawing" section -> "smallest width" setting :D
Oh and yea it does seem to be legitimate Android * since I have a Sony XZ from 2016 which I still occasionally use and comparing the UI and menus it seems to check out too
(I just replaced it's battery which expanded so much over time that, that plus the glue weakening over time, it actually pushed part of the glass where it meets the frame open, which also allowed me an easier time opening for repair; despite still maintaining around 90% of it's capacity according to Accubatery measurements. And it still works pretty much perfectly with a thermal paste change from the aging pad that it originally had, correcting a lot of the inconsistent performance it suffered during the latter years :))
eeyy I also used tape to hold the front glass together, in the meantime, while I test and finalise some repairs and modifications still; specially since I only have one piece of the precut adhesive so best make everything extra sure before sticking it shut haha

in the future, the DPI settings can be custom if you go into developer options and change the DPI number.
The camera could well be 5 MP. You can have as many megapixels as you like but with garbage optics attached to it, the results will look like rubbish. Adding more pixels on the sensor is only useful if the lens is capable of focusing details as small as those pixels clearly on it. Also idk if the weird brownish color tinge is from a low quality camera, lens or the glass (plastic) cover over the camera. Or, have you tried taking a picture after putting it back together? That kapton tape that you removed from the 5 (1) camera assembly seems oddly close to that tinge color.

Was in the video: about 3 days in standby mode and close to zero when in use. He said that just making few photos and a video made it go from 100% to 20% in no time.
