Its really a gamble if whoever bought the franchise name in your area can actually cook or is made in a pseudo kitchen inside a concrete crumbling closet consisting of a shaky stool and a hot plate

You can’t really say go woke to broke about films. Because you have to go see it to know if you like it by which time you’ve already paid. Films are more about the hype, Barbie basically became a meme. It’s tv shows that go broke from “woke”. Because you can stop watching after 1 or 2 episodes.
If the advertising about a movie is too obviously woke it can put people off from seeing it. Just waiting for a review instead then maybe watching it later if it was good.

I think Nintendo still has some sort of ownership over Monkey Island. That would be SICK if done well. A monkey island TV show or movie..."Adventures of Guybrush Threepwood" or "Monkey Island and the Crystal Banana."
I also see Metroid being much more of a Netflix Anime style show. I think if they let a good anime studio take control of a metroid anime it could be amazing.
I would also LOVE to see a Fire Emblem series/movie or a Xenoblade series/movie

To make it work it would need the kitchen names attached and they should provide local service. The issue was and is the incentive structure
Well that should be the job of the company he partnered with. I think the issue is they just massively focused on expanding in an attempt to get other celebrity deals and gave the name to any ghost kitchen that would take it. I doubt the quantity over quality idea is what Mr Beast had in mind when he partnered with them.

Regarding movies at the box office. It's pretty clear everyone's just tired of comic book superheroes at this point is why both Barbie and Oppenheimer did extremely well and the same goes for Meg 2. I enjoy MCU but I'm really getting to the point I'm just burned out and phase 5 isn't helping much either

There was a Kirby anime on 4Kids/Foxbox in the early 2000s. I remember watching it as a kid, but, as 4Kids does, it was censored. Feels like Nintendo wants to bury its existence though.

Fox Kids was always great or at least they were in the 90s which is where my hatred for 4kids comes from. The 2000s changed too many networks and I became confused where everything went. I will need to look up some of the old shows online. They look like something I would have enjoyed as a kid.

That and them funding the first YGO movie. Besides, they're dead now. And anime is dubbed correctly(for the most part, though some companies like to slip their politics in and censor dialogue cause it doesn't mesh with them), so there's no need to hold the grudge.

As a Nintendo fan, i completely agree with your sentiment and positioning towards the company itself, as content creators and gamers. I myself think they should catch up with the times when it comes to some aspects.
As for their games, they are far from riddled with disgusting micro transactions and bugs and what have you.
Anyway, a Starfox movie would be awesome, and as for Splatoon (which I love playing), it should be done as a TV series.
But you’re right about one thing as well: it’ll be interesting to see what they do with licensing their IPs beyond video games in the future.

THANK YOU, ALEX!!!! I feel like the ONLY Final Fantasy fan that isn't defending FF16 for it being a horrible game.
My reasons:
-It's a cutscene simulator
-No party characters
-MMO sidequests (MMO quests DO NOT work in single player games)
-Final Fantasy VII Remake's combat system is way more fun and has way better action than the DMC-For Dummies crap they have in FF16 (though I will admit, I had fun in a few fights, but ONLY a few)
-No elemental dmg/res
-Final Fantasy XII and Tactics did the "old war" style story way better, so all this "it's a more mature story" bullshit can miss me
-QTE's are annoying and take you out of the action when you're actually having fun, plus the QTE's for doors are unnecessary and extremely annoying
-It's a chore to complete, cutscenes every 3 seconds and the mmo style quests make the game unbearable
I can go on and on, but I think you get my point.
It's weird that I haven't noticed Mr Beast Burger yet.
Wasn't interested in the Barbie movie at all, but I watched another youtuber's review of it (mjtanner, great stuff, they deserve more subs imo). She was extremely well versed in Barbie history and I was surprised at how bad and cutthroat that whole scene actually was. It was so bad that Barbie's creator tried, and succeeded, in pretty much destroying Barbie's predecessor's reputation. Barbie was a near direct copy of a doll named Lilli made by another company, and with a mixture of underhanded tactics and Mattel flinging its money around, Barbie became top dog and the other doll faded into obscurity, with the company behind it, named Hausser, going out of business. Made me glad I was never into Barbie at all growing up.
The movie itself also sounded not great from a story and lore perspective (Yeah, Barbie actually has lore, go figure). it also didn't do much to challenge gender norms. Anything that Ken (or males) enjoyed was frowned upon. That included horses for some reason, and yet Barbie has always loved horses, so....??? Either way, it made a bajillion dollars so expect to see more of the same.
The movie is genius and no one can figure out why. It's so funny to us that can see it. Movie of the year.

I haven’t enjoyed FF16 as much so far, unfortunately, but that’s probably just me missing rpg elements in previous FF. Street fighter 6 is also one I want to get for having friends round for tournaments. And there’s games I haven’t even mentioned.
If Starfield meets its promise it could sweep the awards though. What a year for gaming.
As for movies - I usually wait to see what the consensus is before going to the movies. There’s a lot of crap out there I agree but I haven’t really had time to watch anything as gaming and takes up a lot of my leisure time.

As a reviewer, you should understand that just because a movie does well financially, doesn't mean it is well received. Obviously, people pay to see it, so they make money regardless of your opinion. I've paid to watch plenty of movies that I didn't like and wish I hadn't spent money on.

I heard quite the contrary. Barbie was going to be a hit even if it was woke bcz it's Barbie, the name sells itself. And credit goes to the marketing department bcz the trailer doesn't show ANY of the woke elements in the movie. Wonder why? Did they learn something from all the flops from Disney?

@tenjenk if you are gonna quote some random guy with a MAGA flag from Facebook about what he thinks, then forget it. Almost everyone universally said Barbie was gonna be a hit, conservatives included, although they pointed out it's gonna be a classic woke Hollywood movie, but the brand is gonna carry.

No I just believe that the movie carried itself by its own merit as we've had big brand/franchise movies before flounder for being shit or mediocre and also a lot of people who just don't care or even outright dislike barbie still enjoyed the movie after hearing it had its own merit. Only because it had such merit did the brand mean something, otherwise the brand would have been a hinderance as a source of derision.

The Zelda film is hard to imagine working. No doubt it'd be some quippy adventure comedy style thing. The closest I can think of that might work is a LOTRlike, but we've had enough of those too. Maybe cell shaded animation would be a good idea, windwaker style. I donno, it's definitely not as straightforward as Sonic and Mario.

Honestly the MLP:MTG cards were hilarious. I wish they could be played even only one time, because the thought of a serious game going down, and someone Tossing down twilights card like a bad ass, only to say "Everybody wins!" sounds so funny to me. ... OH also, Hasbro and Mattel just signed some sort of contract to put each others stuff on their stuff... Barbie monopoly has been mentioned as well as Transformers uno... to support both companies movies.

The thing about that however is that those different channels have partnerships within Nintendo....They would get a portion of payments from Nintendo for playing their games...Not like sponsoring but its a bit more complicated than I want to type out right now...
