  • Kevin Nash, wrestling's six-time World Heavyweight Champion and twelve-time Tag Team Champion, is inviting YOU to become an insider in the most exclusive band of rebels in the Podcast sphere! Kevin and his crew grabbed the wrestling business by the sack in the 90s and never let go, making his Kliq the most powerful faction in the history of the business, both on camera and off. They spent countless hours together, riffing on the business, the lifestyle, and everything else under the sun, and this podcast is no exception. Kevin left wrestling and built a successful career as an actor and guest on dozens of talk shows. His opinionated nature has made him the most requested guest of shoot interviews and network shows for more than a decade. Now, Kevin and his frequent host Sean Oliver, bring you all that you loved about their shows in this weekly podcast. No guest or topic is off-limits. Are you sweeeeet enough.......to be the next member of the Kliq?

Sean is a really good interviewer. Very humble in that he doesn’t overplay his knowledge, but, asks in a way that a interviewee is willing to expand (he is not “off putting”). These two guys put on an excellent conversational interview.

He's always had a way of making the people he's interviewing feel like they can be as candid/intimate with their stories and he did some really good stuff back in the youshoot days and had a loooot of interviews with Kev, Scott, and Sean Waltman in differing arrangements and numbers so its not too surprising Kev decided to have him be his interviewer but still very happy to Sean and Kev having these conversations

Absolutely, letting stories he knows the answers too flow naturally. And still calling back to details Nash may have forgotten. It's why Sean never seemed trashy in a world of trashy shoot interviewers.

Kevin was always one of my favorites but it wasn't for his wrestling. Other than his finish which I still think is one of the best, it was always his mic skills and personality. Maybe I'm weird but I can like both. You can like the great personality/mic guys and also like the great workers.

It’s not weird . There is no set way or golden rule to get over . Some get over on their personality. Some get over because of their gimmick . From my Sophomore through my Senior year of High School I worked in the kitchen as a dishwasher in a high-end Retirement Community. I had a female boss who was maybe about 40 or 45 at the time. She was about a 4/10 and she only rated that high because she had really good hygiene. I used to service her pretty regularly at work (she had a small suite at the place as part of her compensation). I worked 40 hours a week at $7/hour but she adjusted my hours to make it seem I worked 60 hours a week so I got 20 hours of overtime each week. This was '98-'01. I did not mind the relationship with her but I joined the Air Force after I graduated and never saw her again. She never pressured or forced me to do anything. But from like day 1 of me working there she was making friendly/flirtatious comments to me every day. I was 16 initially so it took me a while to figure out why she was being so friendly with me.

Say what you want but Vince developed Nash into a main event player, same for Hall and Austin and Hunter. They were going nowhere in wcw. Putting the title on Diesel was a major risk, and sometimes that's all the individual needs.

    • @crystalwater505

Vince's idea for Austin was The Ring Master, which flopped horribly. It was Austin's idea to become more of what he was and that's why he got hot. Triple H was still going nowhere in WWF, in fact, he didn't even get noticed until he was in DX, an idea of Shawn's. Also, he wouldn't be as big today if he hadn't had married Steph, let's be honest.
Diesel's title run nearly tanked the company also.

DX was not "Shawn's idea." All FIVE members of the Kliq wanted to live their real life group on TV. Vince kept saying no. Fast forward to Hall and Nash not only being pissed with their Creative, but cash too. So they leave. With the nwo they live out their bond as the outsiders. Hogan was irrelevant at that point, so leeched onto them to get hot again. After financial and ratings distress, Vince FINALLY allows Shawn and Hunter to do their backstage antics on TV through DX.
HHH always had a mind for the business. He was always the responsible and professional Kliq member Vince over time grew to like the most. He volunteered himself to Vince and Creative to pitch ideas for all talent, not just himself, long before Stephanie knew who he was. He absolutely would be a higher up whether he married Stephanie or not. And he already cemented himself as a legend before the nuptials.
It's a 2way street by the way. He can't force himself to marry Stephanie. She had to love him too.
No one becomes an all time wrestling star unless management takes the reigns off and let's them be themselves with the volume turned up. That's everyone. Not just Austin. HHH, Rock, Michaels, et al.

What blows my mind about Nash is that in the 90s and 00s, he was the classic "boy" who used every trick in the book (WITH the book!) to bury everyone and get himself as over as he could, as dirty as he could. And it often wasn't best for business (see: The Streak ending, NWO 99, etc).
And he winds up mellowing out into one of the most level-headed, progressive, kind-hearted people of the wrestling community. Lol, I love the guy.

It was established long ago that he didnt have anything to do with ending goldbergs streak. Yeah he may not have spoke up against it but he didnt influence it either. Were talking about the company that did everything wrong. Its no surprise they did that too. And if the finish had been clean no one would care. Between the crap finish and the finger poke of doom the next night none of it made any sense and thats why he gets heat over it. But goldberg couldnt save wcw alone. They got what was coming.

Kevin Nash is the best the best thing I love about Kevin’s stories is that they are all true they are backed up by others only the people that don’t like him tell totally different stories that are not accurate, it just amazes me on how many old ass men hate on him just because he figured out how to work the wrestling business in his favor you can’t hate on someone for that he knew how to play things in his favor and knew how to have fun while doing it my respects to Nash if It wasn’t for him and Scott hall smaller unknown wrestlers would still be working in handshake deals that’s why the older generation hate him because they had to work almost their whole careers on handshake deals and only the few like hogan and piper got guaranteed money Nash and Hall changed that most guys don’t realize that that’s why I respect and love Kevin Nash and Scott Hall Two of the best of their time I hope Kevin Nash will read this and if you do now that triple H is head of creative maybe the Wolfpac can make a comeback with new faces and managed by none other then Big Sexy 👍🏾

Following Sean Oliver's logic if you're a CEO you can't date unless its another CEO even if you are not married. The problem with a 3 hour Raw is that's not going anywhere. They are making revenue for that third hour through commercials. I agree that 3 hours is too long for a weekly wrestling program. I also understand people's argument that most sporting events last more than three hours. The point I would make though is the Pro Wrestling doesn't have an off season and these other sports do. I do think work rate matters to a degree, but PERSONALITY and RAW EMOTION (pardon the pun) is what really sells wrestling.

Raw being 3 hrs is the least of the problems with modern wrestling. 3 hrs with the right writers, mindset and stars can be great every week. The problem with modern "wrestling" is that it's just not wrestling. It's sports entertainment. It's 35 high spots in an 8 minute match where no story is told and 13 finishers slammed out for the cheapest pops possible. There's nothing in pro "wrestling" today except a guarantee that you'll be injured by a botch on national television.

I hope Kevin Nash is getting his heart checked. The Reason i say this...... Everybody gets older, has health issues, looks a bit more frail than they did when they were young and superman . But certain people you see often you don't recognize the little changes in them, but if you havent seen them for a while you do. EXAMPLE of this. The guy who played Coach from Cheers, when you watch season to season you don't notice him going down hill as much and getting thinner, but anyway my point is , if you go back season by season and look , you start to see him getting thinner and weaker looking, and ultimately he had heart problems and passed. So what i am saying while Kevin might be just working out better , he just looks a lot thinner all of a sudden. So if Kevin Nash or Sean Read the comments section, maybe get the 'ol ticker checked if you haven't recently-- just in case.

WCW Nitro had its highest ever ratings in 1997-1998 when they couldn't even say words like "ass." The show had tons of swearing and sexuality in 1999 with Russo, and it didn't save them. The storylines were gripping enough in 1997 that people didn't need swearing. Every wrestler had a catchphrase. There was a storyline that left each show with a cliffhanger. Adult-rated content isn't always necessary. Wrestling just needs to have good writing and be fun.
